  2. This might be a far stretch for some but it's whats been said before -- If you listen carefully you'll hear the lad abusing Pioneer’s CDJ1000s like a junior Jeff Mills for the post-Technics generation - scratches, loops, reverses etc
  3. “dance music's "it" kid -- who looks like a cross between the one cute Hanson brother and a noble Lord Of The Rings elf. Any good? Acid-drenched minimal techno meets progressive house that isn't boring meets sci-fi space odyssey? Yes, please!” -URB MAGAZINE
  4. James’ growing ability to bridge the experimental and club worlds embodies a sound that presents a dancefloor take on techy and minimal progressive house, with just enough breaks to keep the funk oozing in and futuristic sci-fi elements that may just induce its own robophobia. Not to be missed!
  5. STEVE PORTER launched his assault on the world’s dancefloors with his inaugural ‘PORTERHOUSE’ party at the State nightclub, Winter Music Conference 2005 – with a set that was so totally off the hook, that he left the crowd clamouring for more well after the last beats had faded into the Miami night air. Since that most memorable night, he has continued on his ‘HOMEGROWN’ debut artist album tour in over 30+ US cities and abroad in the UK, Europe, Australia, and Japan, bringing his ‘PORTERHOUSE’ ideology of “no rules, no borders†to dance music across the globe. Now in 2006, STEVE PORTER’s highly anticipated follow-up is his first-ever mix compilation ‘PORTERHOUSE’ (out on Fade Records February 2006). It is a bold and exciting venture that deserves your full attention. The album features 9 of Steve’s own original tracks, and the remaining 17 are from his long-term collaborators (including Agent 001, Eli Wilkie, Emjae, and Chris Reavey). Steve Porter has established a crucial network of hot new talent linked to his hometown of Boston. These are fresh and exciting young producers whose studio production skills have been honed out of the music media spotlight, and whilst they might not be the biggest names in the industry (yet), the tracks they make are played by world class DJ’s from every continent. If you’ve already caught Steve at one of his many club appearances around the globe, you know what we mean. If not, prepare to get very excited indeed. Read the RHYTHMISM.com Q&A with STEVE PORTER here. This Thursday, January 19th @ CIELO Steve Porter presents PORTERHOUSE Album Preview Party CIELO 18 Little West 12th Street New York City Doors at 10pm, 21+ $10 – FREE with RSVP info@embraceproductions.com www.djsteveporter.com www.porterhouse-online.com www.faderecords.com Steve Porter is definitely one to watch—just ask Chris Fortier, Sander Kleinenberg and Sasha. Porter’s debut artist album [Homegrown] is pricking up ears with its subtle, prolific spirit that speaks volumes without using a word. On Homegrown Porter puts all original material together into a seamless, expertly mixed fashion to make a compelling CD that feels like the future of dance music. -BPM MAGAZINE Steve Porter, the 26-year-old DJ prodigy from Western Massachusetts, may have humbly started spinning in his parent’s basement and DJing his own senior prom, but it didn’t take long for Porter to move beyond Amherst and take over the rest of the world. These days, Porter is based in New York and spins his infectious house music in clubs all over the planet alongside superstars such as Sasha. –BOSTON GLOBE “Steve Porter is part of a new generation of DJs taking progressive music out of the dark. His signature "Porterhouse" sound puts the melody, music and funk back into a genre that had gained criticism for being boring, repetitive and anything but progressiveâ€. -OTTAWA XPRESS “one of the most exciting up-and-comers around†– M8 Magazine (UK) “This American progressive house producer was already on everyone’s lips thanks to a string of impressive remixes. But then came his debut album ‘Homegrown’ earlier this year, and a star had well and truly arrived. With his intricate use of melodies and big basslines, Porter’s take on progressive is both uplifting and funky – something that can’t always be said for house’s more epic cousin.†–I-DJ Magazine (UK)
  6. Last Fall, one of our favorite party DJs Lee Burridge took up temporary residency in New York City. There were secret afterhours parties, revealing secrets about Richie Hawtin & Bill Patrick, a shocking story about Steve Porter and his mum's pantyhose, Loveparade San Francisco and border mayhem in Canada (aptly titled 'Fun at Border Control'!). Since leaving NYC, Lee has taken up his 365 residency in Florence (Italy) and will spend the early part of 2006 in Melbourne (Australia) and Buenos Aires (Argentina) and we'll be reunited once again in Miami at Winter Music Conference. Afterwards which he'll take part in take 2 of 365: USA in Denver, Colorado. I heart New York by Lee Burridge Every month, DJ Lee Burridge tears the pages out of his diary and sends them to DJmag.com to reveal all the mishaps, shenanigans, and craziness from his ‘365’ world tour. 11. “Pier Bucci edges his way into the limelight with one of 2005’s best electronic albums. A studio wiz in love with melody, South America’s answer to Derrick May is both an innovator and a romantic. Oh , and a genius.†-FACT Magazine. Crosstown Rebels reach a milestone as they line-up the release of the label’s first artist album with Pier Bucci, an artist considered to be one of the Chilean holy trinity of techno along with Ricardo Villalobos & Luciano. Pier Bucci ‘Familia’ is already being talked about by the great and the good as quite possibly the electronic album of the year with its emotive, South American melodies juxtaposed against the intricate electronic micro-house leanings and minimal techno excursions. The album is at once trippy and beautiful and continues the cutting edge path that the Chileans have been forging from Berlin to Ibiza to the Americas. Two critically acclaimed EP’s already released with the Rebels, ‘Cinetico Andino’ and ‘Advanced Romance’ have both set the tone. Pier Bucci’s debut album was always going to be something special but nothing has prepared people for this. ‘Familia’ is a masterpiece from an artist at the very top of his game. Presented as a seamless piece of music, these 10 tracks overflow with the kind of harmonies and rhythms that make ‘Familia’ such a unique and trippy proposition. The perfect balance of headphone sensibility and dancefloor abandon, it sounds like nothing else on the planet. Recorded in Berlin and Paris, all tracks are new and exclusive and the album artwork is courtesy of Pier himself, a serious artist on all fronts. The haunting vocals on ‘L’Nuit’ and ‘Tita’ are by Armelle Pioline, who has recorded with Atom Heart, and Macha who contributes vocals to ‘Hay Consuello’. Early reactions to ‘Familia’ have been electric as Pier Bucci has clearly established himself as one of the most exciting propositions in electronic music. His live show debuts in the US this November with dates accompanied by DJ darling of the underground, Crosstown Rebels boss Damian Lazarus. “Alongside fellow Chileans Villalobos and Luciano, Pier Bucci’s become one of the most bleeding-edge artists in the ever-evolving minimal techno circuit, releasing a couple of much-lauded EPs, co-producing Lucien-N-Luciano’s 2004 LP ‘Blind Behaviour’ and now, releasing Crosstown’s first ever long player. Glitchy, melodic tech is the order of the day here… Album of the year? It’s a contender all right.†–I-DJ Magazine “Apparently this musical genius is part of the same Chilean electronica scene that gave us Ricardo Villalobos and Luciano, and his music’s on a similarly fragrant tip, hazy and harmonious.†–VICE Magazine UK â€For must-hear artist albums, there's Pier Bucci's electro-techno ‘Familia’.“ – EARPLUG “…using all types of synthesizer to create his latin/microhouse hybrid that splits the difference between the dancefloor and headphones perfectly….Familia more than just a collection of dance tracks, it makes it an album. And one of the best of the year at that.†–STYLUSMAGAZINE.com PIER BUCCI ‘FAMILIA’ (Crosstown Rebels) US Release Date: December 6, 2005 PIER BUCCI (LIVE) with DAMIAN LAZARUS U.S. TOUR DATES WEDNESDAY, November 23 CHICAGO @ Soundbar www.sound-bar.com THURSDAY, November 24 TORONTO @ State Theater (*Damian only) FRIDAY, November 25 DENVER @ Vinyl SATURDAY, November 26 SAN FRANCISO @ Anu www.anu-bar.com TUESDAY, November 29 NEW YORK CITY @ Cielo www.wearerobots.net www.crosstownrebels.com www.studiodistribution.com

  13. Audio Therapy is five years old already and by way of celebration head honcho Dave Seaman has mixed together a compilation of exclusive new material and unreleased exclusives from the labels’ archives. The CD titled ‘This Is Audio Therapy’ features material from esteemed artists such as Infusion, Hybrid, Kosmas Epsilon, Phil K & Habersham and of course Dave’s own Group Therapy project all mixed together with perfection. As an added bonus the second CD is unmixed and features full length versions of some of the highlights of the mixed CD together with exclusive remixes from Tonedepth & Stel, Trafik, Oliver Moldan and Steve Porter. From label head Dave Seaman, “Vinyl sales as a whole have been dropping over the past 12 months and we as a label have to be aware of where the market is moving. The digital format has evolved very quickly and it would seem that less and less people are buying the vinyl format. But, I still think that people like to hold and see a product at the end of the day as opposed to a computer file. The unmixed CD will satisfy the demand out there for Audio Therapy fans and will hopefully bridge the gap for people moving away from vinyl but still wanting an end product. The format worked well and was warmly received for the Across Borders CD release we did last month and as with that release we will also be doing a limited edition 2 x 12†vinyl run.†The CD looks set to firmly establish Audio Therapy as a label synonymous with quality that attracts some of the biggest production names in the electronica scene and confirms that Audio Therapy is one of the key independent labels. Moving with the current market demands the unmixed CD will cater for the growing number of DJ’s who have moved away from the world of vinyl to CDs. Get on board, ‘This Is Audio Therapy’ now! 16. The Balance series continues to evolve and always has the ability to deliver elements of surprise and intrigue with each release, none more so, than introducing the latest addition to it’s already impressive list of compilers, Desyn Masiello. Desyn is one of the very few DJ’s in recent years that has stood out and caught the ear of some of the worlds largest DJs (with Deep Dish, Sander K and Danny Howells nominating him as their 'future DJ Hero' in DJ Magazine's Top 100 poll). With many established DJs and newcomer DJs leaning towards a particular style and musical range many are pigeon holed into a 'genre' of music. Desyn, however, has managed to establish his own sound that crosses boundaries and makes difficult to categorize. Desyn incorporates house classics, deep, tech, funky and progressive in his sets. His musical taste takes inspiration from everything and anything that he feels. "I listen and take inspiration from almost any type of music. Many tracks I find may not be instantly playable, so I use technology such as Pro Tools and Ableton live to re-edit tracks or update them so they will then fit into my vision of how the music should sound on the dance floorâ€. 2002 saw Desyn's career skyrocket; with Deep Dish's exclusive US booking agency, Bullitt, signing him up to their US roster. 2002 kept Desyn packed with tours and performances. Kicking off the year with a cover mount CD for DJ Magazine (WMC issue), headlining at Glastonbury, and performing notable 6-hour sets around the globe and guesting in venues such as Cream (Liverpool), Gatecrasher and Renaissance (Worldwide). During a hectic 2003, Desyn embarked on a global tour supporting his Yoshitoshi 3 'In House We Trust' CD. Performing 80 dates in 100 days, in some of the world's largest venues, for some of the most renowned companies, sponsors and festivals around the UK, Western Europe, Eastern Europe, Malaysia, Asia, Middle East, North and South America. Having already released the highly acclaimed mix CD 'In House We Trust 3' (Yoshitoshi), and DJ magazines' WMC '02 cover mount, Desyn was steering his exciting new label Alternative Route (house and progressive) into the forefront of the scene. With his first signing (2001) being the mighty KC Flight 'Voices' and one of the most recent and successful releases being the colossal Chable & Bonnici 'Ride'. Other releases have included tracks from friends and producers, 16B, PMT, Creamer & K and DJ Vibe. The success of these tracks On Alternative Route are testament to Desyn's A&R ability to unearth superb originals, both new and old. 2004... Desyn's productions pointed the way to an exhilarating future. His first two singles with co-idiots Omid 16b and Leon Roberts, The Idiots 'Feel The Rush' and 'Keep it Real' (Sexonwax) were featured on Danny Howells' 24/7 Compilation. His first remix (Solar Plexus) is exhibited on Deep Dish's Global Underground (025). Desyn has completed remixes and edits for Yoshitoshi - Brother Brown's 'King's of Tomorrow', Eddie Amador's 'Psycho Ex-girlfriend' and the merging of 'Loudeast and Luzon'. The Idiots produced 'Dogman', remixed Danny Howell's, 'Spikes' (Sexonwax) as well as two remixes’ of 'Sharpside', Belgian Resistance (Renaissance). John Daigweed requested Desyn join him on his 'End Of Summer Tour' around the USA. Having joined forces with The Collective Agency (USA) and Excession (UK), a nomination for BBC Radio 1’s “Essential Mix of the Yearâ€, together with being handpicked to lead off the Original Series CD (OS_1) on Bedrock Desyn's profile continued to grow. 2005… A third record label “Symphonic†will be launched in July and run in conjunction with 4 international artists based around the world. 18. SAN FRANCISCO, CA - LOVE was in the air on Saturday, September 24th for the second annual Loveparade San Francisco. On this day, 89,000 participants joined together in an alliance of music and diversity. The spectacular weather provided an ideal setting for Loveparade San Francisco. Twenty four floats paraded down Market Street, the city’s main thoroughfare, for the procession. The marching line-up was comprised of large floats, art cars, dancers, performers and costumed participants, all championed by crowds stretching through the heart of downtown San Francisco. The parade culminated in an all day festival at Civic Center Plaza where more than 200 DJs performed. Participants gathered to observe, dance and listen to the diverse spectacle of electronic music and creative pageantry. “This year’s Loveparade far exceeded our expectations in terms of the enthusiastic crowd, orderly conduct and cooperation with the City of San Francisco. We’re so proud to bring together the nation’s largest celebration of electronic music, and we look forward to carrying on the tradition next year.”-JOSHUA SMITH, Loveparade San Francisco Board President The success of Loveparade is a great testament to the City of San Francisco and to the current state of electronic music in America. The prevailing sentiment had a carnivalesque feeling of merriment and celebration, where everybody was happy to be a part of something significant for electronic music in America, a moment that instilled a feeling of optimism in all the participants. Inside City Hall, the VIP / Press area was brimming with people who have supported Loveparade all year and contributed to its success. The Heineken press area hosted interviews and photo opportunities for Energy 92.7FM, SPIN magazine, BPM magazine, HD News, Q Television etc. with artists like Carl Cox, The Crystal Method, Mark Farina and others. Meanwhile, The Mutaytor (a Los Angeles based 30 person performance troupe incorporating tribal drums, electronic music, hoop dancers, acrobats and visual effects) performed at the top of the grand marble staircase, under City Hall's impressive rotunda transforming it into a colorful affair with dancing, song, and revelry. Outside City Hall at the festival, the Skills/Spundae float, positioned directly in front of the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium, entertained large crowds all day. The Official Skills/Spundae Afterparty was brimming with 9,000 party people and featured sets by UK break beat duo Evil Nine, superstar techno DJ Carl Cox, along with US DJs Bad Boy Bill, DJ Dan, Markus Schulz with the highlight set performed by international DJ star Ferry Corsten. “It was a good day to be in San Francisco if you were interested in the celebration of good spirit and dance music.” -CNET News.com "...a platform showcasing the many emerging/healthy factions of the electronic music evolution, presenting each with color and excitement that made the event truly inspirational." -URB Magazine “[Loveparade]…took over like a collective heartbeat and left the throngs on the sidewalks bobbing their heads in unison.” -San Francisco Chronicle “Celebrants danced alongside the music-blasting floats. Electronic music shook the concrete under the feet of onlookers, sucking them out into the street to follow their preferred brand of electronic music. By Civic Center, the parade filled the street and the sidewalk with all types of colorful pretty people.” -Oakland Tribune The organizers would to thank everyone who helped create this year’s Loveparade San Francisco. Without your support we would never have such an event. A special thanks goes out to all the DJs of the world: both those that contributed to making Loveparade San Francisco what it is, and to the others dropping beats all over the world.. We are already looking forward to next year’s Loveparade as we continue to grow a new legacy for electronic music in America. 21. Renaissance are delighted to announce a brand new album series – ‘Frontiers’, a 2xCD compilation that pits two DJs head to head with a unique, geographical twist with both heralding from different countries. The concept breathes a welcome air of originality into the compilation market, the perfect platform to showcase DJs, artists, countries and the ever-expanding global world of dance. Renaissance MD Geoff Oakes says, “We have worked with a number of very established DJs over the years. ‘Frontiers’ will be our platform for artistes who, although a little too experienced to be classed as nu-skool, are still fresh and exciting; driving their respected genre in their own domestic scene forward and knocking down the door of the A-list.â€. No finer example could be found than our inaugural pair – Behrouz & Yousef. San Francisco’s Behrouz, by contrast, provides the perfect musical foil. A masterful exponent of all things deep and hypnotic, his DJing and production has become the toast of his U.S peers, most notably Danny Tenaglia and Deep Dish, the latter of which signed him to their prestigious DJ agency and lauded record label, Yoshitoshi. Recent remixes for Narcotic Thrust and Cuba Computer are generating the kind of buzz that helped put his re-work of Narcotic’s first single, ‘Safe From Harm’ at the top of the Billboard dance chart, whilst his own productions (such as ‘Be Free’ as featured on ‘The Sound of Renaissance Vol. 2’) are met with equal anticipation. As a DJ he boasts residencies at two of the worlds best clubs, Ruby Skye in San Fran and the excellent Red Light in Paris and also plays a major part in Yoshitoshi’s Pacha, Ibiza residence. Couple this with further guest appearances round Europe and the World, plus his American commitments to clubs such as Space, Miami and Crobar, New York and you have one of the hottest DJs on the planet. Little wonder he picked up nominations as ‘Best Breakthrough DJ’ from the prestigious Dancestar organization, ‘Best Newcomer’ at the Ibizan DJ awards in 2004 and “Best Resident DJ†at the Club World Awards 2005. Yousef as become one of house music’s finest ambassadors since his Muzik Magazine breakthrough in the late nineties. Renowned for his tough, jacking style that’s always got one eye on funk and the other on the dance floor, he has established himself as the British answer to the likes of Derrick Carter and Sneak. He produces under a number of guises – Drum Bums, Harry Munroe and 10,000 BC – all of which have picked up major support. His most recent remix (under his own name) for Iain Brown is currently being heralded by Pete Tong on Radio 1, picking up the coveted ‘Essential New Tune’ award in the process. He also has an artist album in the works featuring collaborations with other luminaries such as Nic Fanciulli, Gene Farris and Paul Woolford. Over the past two years he has also found time to develop one of the UK’s most successful new club brands, Circus, in his native Liverpool; a project that truly came of age at the end of 2004 when Radio 1 listeners crowned the club the best in the UK in an independent poll. www.renaissanceuk.com Album Tracklisting (30 tracks) – Buy it now! 22. THREE : HALLUCIENDA, the new mix CD from noted New York-based DJ/producer Three of the critically acclaimed Second-Hand Satellites (with Sean Q6) & remix project Three A.M. (with Rabbit in the Moon's David Christophere). The culmination of both the last three years work into the Hallucination Limited record label and the last 11 years of being involved with Hallucination Records (who’s roster included Rabbit In The Moon and electro giants Jackal & Hyde). HALLUCIENDA is Three and Hallucination’s long-awaited, first ‘official’ DJ-mixed CD and captures the genre-bending diversity of both Three’s DJ sets and the output on his Hallucination Limited label. It features rare exclusives and unreleased tracks expertly mixed by Three himself using Pioneer’s DVJ-X1, Allen & Heath’s Xone:92 mixer, Red Zone’s C-Loops sampler and outboard effects. On this benchmark compilation Three says, “First and foremost this CD is about the label, but I wanted to present it as a live DJ mix that felt like a night out, with some never heard exclusives and mixed with a bit of on-the-fly editing/looping and some live FX in contrast to label compilations which are often more of a “home listening†retrospective of a label’s past releases.†HALLUCIENDA includes Enhanced CD access to a 2ND downloadable bonus mix of Limited and Hallucination Recordings catalog releases, also mixed by Three. Armed with a sound that borrows equally from vintage acid house, soulful techno and electronic dub, Hallucination Limited has fast become a celebrated underground label in the world of electronic music garnering praise over its first 10 vinyl-only releases from DJs as diverse as LTJ Bukem, Charles Webster, and Lee Burridge. With a catalog of over 45 tracks to choose from on this first retrospective album Three says, “All at once I’m trying to expose new artists & forthcoming music as well as showcase more established names already associated with Hallucination Limited. I also made a conscious effort for the tracklisting to reflect the overall eclecticism of the label’s big brother - Hallucination Recordings – having just celebrated its 10th year.†Over the mix you'll hear sounds ranging from house & techno to electro and, Three explains, “some tracks that hopefully defy any single type of category.†The album recognizes Three and the label’s longstanding relationship with Rabbit In The Moon with the inclusion of "Timebomb", a quintessential R.I.T.M. track. Other stellar tracks from Sycophant Slags (the inimitable Mr. C & Francis Harris), Terry Francis, Q-Burns Abstract Message featuring Lisa Shaw, Denver's rising star Little Mike, Hallucination's unsung hero Grumptronix and the twisted machine-funk of Reverse Commuter (a.k.a. [a]pendics.shuffle, dubLoner) make this package a music lover’s delight. Three’s history precedes him, drawing accolades for his remix work from peers and contemporaries as varied as Laurent Garnier, Doc Martin, Sasha, and Tyrant for seminal remixes of R.I.T.M.'s - "Out of Body Experience†(Burning Spear Mix), "FloorI.D.A.†(A Dub for Strangeways) & U.N.K.L.E. feat. Ian Brown's - "Reign†(Black Swan Vocal Mix) and the original production Second-Hand Satellites - Multiple Mirrors parts 1&2. He’s held residencies at Florida’s legendary Simon’s and NYC’s Twilo and has played lauded guest spots with San Francisco’s Wicked Crew and the UK’s Fabric. The Hallucination Limited events at Miami’s Winter Music Conference and long-running Snatch residency in Tampa, FL are favorites of DJ’s and clubbers the world over. Three relocated to NYC last year and he’s been embraced locally at venues like Cielo, Sullivan Room and the infamous Robots parties. ‘THREE : HALLUCIENDA’ U.S. TOUR DATES September 3 CHICAGO, IL @ PURE 3rd annual Labor Day Boat cruise www.purefuture.com September 16 NEW YORK CITY @ ROBOTS w/ Hallucination Ltd. Hallucienda is an eclectic and maximal fusion of house, techno, acid, soul, and electronic funk that offers one nonstop pleasure after another.†-TEXTURA.ORG “The album progresses into something more than expected – a party CD. No, it’s not the typical vocal-heavy-commercial-driven-money-scheming ploys that labels churn out to make a quick buck, but a disc that expresses both the sound of the dark and dungy clubs to the more assessable, and at a point, glamorous sound of dance music.†– RESIDENTADVISOR.net “Hallucienda serves as a testament to Three’s innate and intuitive timing, as well as, his keen insight in the selection of the unique and cutting edge tracks that comprise the mix.†– COOLJUNKIE.com 'HALLUCIENDA' TRACKLISTING 1. 23. For PEOPLE_3, D:FUSE is taking the live DJ concept to a whole new level. This new 2xCD PEOPLE_3 (Moist Music, September 20th) continues the concept of "both sides of the picture" with Disc 1 ‘People_Clubbing’ (Live in San Francisco): the club mix was recorded live in San Francisco @ Club Mighty on July 29, 2005 featuring D:FUSE’s new live show with a full percussion set up, including his signature mix of Electronic Congas, Bongos, Tablas, and Timbales - as well as adding Tom Tom drums, Cymbals and live filter effects. The live show also included LA-based DJ/Producer Mike Hiratzka on guitar, bass, and keyboards and Austin’s MC Flint on vocals. On the flip side, Disc 2 ‘People_Chilling’ (Live in Austin): a chill-out mix recorded live in Austin, TX at the Lift Room, providing the perfect atmospheric pre-party or after-party soundtrack. “The energy and feel you get when musicians work together in a live setting is something you just can’t create with a computer. When the curtain went up on the recording everything meshed. I’m banging the drums like a maniac, Mike Hiratzka is bouncing up and down like a pogo stick with his guitar, and MC Flint is throwing the vocals down. The energy of the crowd that night was off the charts, and it worked through what we were doing on stage infectiously. We were very focused on bringing it for the dance floor. It was about keeping it funky, keeping it fun, and throwing in just a bit of spirituality for good measure. This is the mix CD I’ve always wanted to do.†– D:FUSE PEOPLE_3 is the third installment in D:FUSE’s popular compilation series, following ‘People’ released in February 2002 which immediately entered the CMJ Chart at number 9, followed by ‘People_2: Both Sides of the Picture’, a 2xCD mix for System Recordings in 2003. “The stereotype of “live†electronic music has long been about a DJ standing around spinning records or staring at a laptop. So when a DJ like D:Fuse really sticks his neck out, bringing with him scads of live-band experience and pulling all the stops for a top-notch show, you have to take notice.†– REMIX MAGAZINE D:FUSE began his musical career writing and performing industrial music under the name "Culture Industry" before he turned to DJing. In 1998, he was signed to then premier electronic music label Moonshine releasing three mix compilations, and selling over 80,000 mix CDs for them. In 2001, D:FUSE was picked out of the Lone Star state for his DJ skills by Paul Oakenfold to tour with him on two consecutive North American Perfecto tours with over 50 cities and many sold-out dates. Then he followed up with a double CD mix compilation for Paul Oakenfold's Perfecto Presents series, beginning the “People†series. In 2004, he was voted URB Magazine’s #2 Artist/DJ for Winter Music Conference 2004. D:FUSE released his debut artist album ‘BEGIN’ to much acclaim in 2004 on System Recordings. The album features Motorcycle vocalist JES and twelve original tracks, plus two bonus remixes, including the hit singles "Everything With You" and "Living The Dream," with licensed compilation sales reaching well over 150,000 units. As an electronic music pioneer in alternative media outlets, D:FUSE can currently be heard on his own DJ mix show “The People’s Mix†one of America's top nationally broadcasted electronic music shows on XM Satellite Radio 80 in the primetime Saturday night spot, heard by over 150,000 "people" every week. He will be celebrating his 200th anniversary show in Fall 2005 featuring live simulcasts at clubs across the continent. D:FUSE also has a weekly Friday night show on KBIG 104.3 FM in Los Angeles and on 101X FM in Austin and is flying high on Delta Airlines in-flight music programming with his very own 45 minute â€Chill Factor†electronic channel. www.djdfuse.com D:FUSE ‘PEOPLE_3’ TOUR DATES September 2 CLEVELAND, OH @ Metropolis Nightclub September 3 LOS ANGELES, LA @ Avalon (D:FUSE live show) September 4 JACKSONVILLE, FL @ The Globe September 10 NEW YORK, NY @ Avalon September 14 SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA @ Slo Brew September 17 KANSAS CITY, KS @ KABAL September 21 LAS VEGAS, NV @ Club Seven September 24 FT. D: Fuse brought producer/DJ/musician Mike Hiratzka to the stage, armed with a guitar, bass and a unique vintage keyboard to take the tracks up a notch: adding new flavors to the rhythm, illustrating the melodies, and riding the track transitions. Their chemistry was phenomenal, and it’s no wonder that the word on the street suggests these two might be teaming up for more shows in the near future. D:Fuse also flew in MC Flint from Austin, TX, whose lyrical skills provided yet another live element for the audience to connect with. Starting off as a subtle undercurrent, he brought his purring yum-yum hip-hop vibe and a little bad boy funk into the mix.†-365MAG.com - JULY 29th “His debut artist album is sultry work with lots of enjoyable nuances. It dabbles in vocals and pop as much as dance music, while possessing more meaningful moments than you can count. D:Fuse’s appreciation for life, love and music is undeniable in this genuinely lovely artist album.†-BPM Magazine “D’FUSE isn’t merely a producer, nor only a DJ. He is a musician.†–THE PITCH “[begin] D:FUSE infuses his spacious sonic landscape with enough peaks and valleys for a range of emotions to run through it. Consider this one auspicious beginning.†– BILLBOARD “Debut full-length artist albums have the propensity to either propel a jockey to rock-star status or throw them back behind the decks, latched to a ball and chain. Well it looks like D:FUSE is free to spread his wings and fly, as he presents a well-rounded collection of downtempo pop ballads and near-perfect chart-climbing club numbers on ‘Begin’†-URB D:FUSE ‘People_3’ Live Album 2xCD (Moist Music, September 20) Buy It Now!
  24. Dave Seaman's highly acclaimed Audio Therapy label is proud to announce the launch of a brand new album series entitled 'Across Borders'. The unmixed compilation will include exclusive tracks and will be available on three formats (CD, 2 x 12" and digital downloads). The album focuses on the very best production talent from a single country or region. The album boasts a unique claim as it is the first time artists and producers have had a consolidated format to showcase their work. Consequently, the series will be a welcome addition to Audio Therapy's already burgeoning catalogue. First up in the series is GREECE, a country rich in production talent with the likes of Nikola Gala’s Perasma project signing to Ministry of Sound and Dousk gaining releases on John Digweed’s Bedrock label. The Audio Therapy imprint already has a history of supporting Greek artists with releases from Stel & Good Newz and remixes from Christian Cambas and Kosmas Epsilon. This, alongside Dave Seaman’s frequent touring and popularity in the region, made Greece the obvious choice for the first release of the series. Label head honcho Dave Seaman says “The amount of music I am given whilst out performing constantly amazes me. Being a DJ and running a label makes me an obvious target for producers to pass on their material. Sometimes, after a weekend of gigs, I have almost an albums worth of quality releases. A lot of the guys involved have already had some big releases on the worlds key labels like Bedrock and Yoshitoshi, we just wanted to unite all of them together on one album to show just how much of a current hotbed Greece is for quality material and talented producers. There are many other areas and countries that are really producing some outstanding music. We hope to turn our attention to these as the series progressesâ€. The album features exclusive tracks for the album project from Christian Cambas, Dousk, G Pal, Jose Zamora, Kosmas Epsilon alongside Nick & John Dalagelis, Nikola Gala, Phatjack,Stel & Good Newz, Tonedepth and Viton. Also on the horizon is the new off shoot label ‘Therapy Music’ which will allow Dave and co. to sign and develop new artists as well as one off singles. The first single on the label was released in May 2005 and is titled “Little Soul†by Stel & Good Newz. The track can be heard on the Renaissance presents Therapy Sessions Volume 2 – Dave Seaman & Luke Chable compilation out now on Renaissance / Thrive Records.
