  1. Anybody know a good software I can download that checks BPM for songs? Thanx Shades
  2. Hey Justin! It's been a very long time since I've last been on this board. I never knew you were the man behind the red room...all this time my friends and I would agree that the music in the red room was off the hook. Great job!
  3. Here's another one I remember hearing at Exit a month or so ago...came on shortly after they played DJ Scott Hennes and Cold Second trip; Warp Brothers - We Will Survive. Shades Of Grey
  4. I don't know how old this song is, but I recently came across a song called cape 4 africa and downloaded various versions off napster. One of the versions sounds like it came off of a mixed cd as it lead into another song then cutting off. It's not the darkmoon remix or the Dj helios remix...anyone know the name of the cd?
  5. which week of the month?
  6. In case you have a tough time finding through search on napster, my username on napster is deejayryu...add me to your hotlist, populate my list and the song will be in my directory. Enjoy!
  7. Like most of you on this board, I'm a music lover. I started making mixes last August and I'm putting up 2 mixes of mine that I've done a few months ago and would love to share with the rest of you. These songs are nothing new and some even played out, but if you want to check out my mix, I'll be putting up shades of grey 4 and shades of grey 5 on napster tonight by 8PM nyc time. Again, these 2 mixes I made months ago so don't be surprised to hear some 'cheese' on it. Regardless, hope you enjoy and if you like what you hear, email me at hobbes_74@hotmail.com and I'll update you whenever I have a new remix out. Enjoy! Compiled, mixed, and remixed by yours truly, Shades of Grey
  8. Chanels...they were off the hook!
  9. I tried using the nero program. It's fairly straight forward and simple to use but when I try burning a cd, I get an error message and my burner locks up. I'm using the yamaha 8/8/24 internal burner. Is anyone else having this problem?
  10. I think this thread has indeed snowballed with forced opinions and arguing a subjective case on an objective level...and here's my opinion, he's my favorite deejay (along with DJ MacGuyver) who I have come across that produces the sweetest bass sound. To me, his music is all about the energy regardless if all his songs are engineered the same way. As for engineering songs, I do alot of remixes and some song writing and it's so easy to get into that loop hole, into the usual way of remixing or writing songs while being hard to be diverse. I have a certain style and can only change it if I'm concious of it, but naturally my style is distinct and can be noticed in all my remixes being similar and they are all engineered the same way. I just can't see DJ Scott producing a song that doesn't have his usual elements in all his songs...that's him & that's what you can expect from DJ Scott. As an example, the bass sound in Elastique Culture is the hottest sounding bass/beat sound I have come across...it's rich, full, and food for the soul...
  11. Thanx for everyone's help. A friend of mine just helped me and if anyone else has this problem where adaptec doesn't recognize your audio mp3 files, use winamp to convert into .wav. It's an extra process (adaptect normally converts it for you...adaptec version easy cd creator v4.02 or higher) but you'll be able to burn on adaptec afterwards. In winamp, options -> preferences -> there's an option where the songs you play will convert into .wav. Thanks again everyone and thanks to the person who helped me with this problem and who happens to be on this board. Shades of Grey
  12. I read several threads from the past and some seem to be using adaptec to burn cds. I've been having problems recently and could use a little help. My audio files don't seem to be recognized or listed in my music folder until I show all files as an option. When I try and drag the mp3 file, I get this message in verbatim (using the song DJ Mcguyver - Do You as an example): The "C:\Program Files\music\DJ Mcguyver - Do You.mp3" file has an unrecognized file extension. Valid extensions are .WAV and .MP3. Please select a file with a .WAV or .MP3 file extension. I've tried various things such as changing the path extension in the folders option, installing and reinstalling adaptec, but to no luck. Would appreciate anyone's help on this. Thanks!
  13. There's various remixes of that song out there...if you heard it at exit, I think the mix your looking for is Jackie 'o' remix - glorious.
  14. Hennes and cold the second trip is definately hot by DJ Scott. Check out these other songs that you may like by him on top of the ones that were already mentioned: Arome - Scream Freedom of expression
