  1. Matta's right, for most guys it's some type of 'hair wax'. I use stuff from physique... Gel ends up looking all white and pasty, and really doesn't work... I suppose you could use special sauce - actually I remember reading something about Warhol doing just that... yuk... ------------------ Those whom the gods love grow young. - Oscar Wilde
  2. What about staying in the same company and just moving locations? I've heard of some people where that was possible. Of course, if it's a small company, you're screwed. Just an idea... ------------------ Those whom the gods love grow young. - Oscar Wilde
  3. Thinking a little more, hands down, this is the worst for me: 4 Non-Blondes - What's Up? (DJ Miko Mix) ------------------ Those whom the gods love grow young. - Oscar Wilde
  4. Humate - Love Stimulation (Paul Van Dyk's Club Lovemix) Paul Van Dyk - Another Way BT (feat Paul Van Dyk) - Sunblind ------------------ Those whom the gods love grow young. - Oscar Wilde
  5. How could you forget? DJ Jean - The Launch Daft Punk - One More Time ------------------ Those whom the gods love grow young. - Oscar Wilde
  6. B2B, It was almost alien to me the first time I saw Eastenders and some of those other soaps when I lived in London a little while back (polar opposite of US soap operas, with rich, spoiled, beautiful people). To be honest, it's getting worse, just look at the WB, for example. Tons and tons of beautiful people, in beautiful apartments/houses, living easy lives. The question is, where is this leading to? Indie movies are well on their way to having exclusively beautiful people too (Groove, Chocolat and Requiem for a Dream are the first coming to mind). So, it looks they can have our cake and eat it. The future is excess, the future is beauty AND substance, all guised as reality... ------------------ Those whom the gods love grow young. - Oscar Wilde
  7. On PVD's Essential Mix from New Casino, Berlin (12/17/00), the track is 107 minutes into the set, 13 minutes from the end (right before he slips the record). It's really hard, says something like "I love working the net ..." and sounds mad possessed... Any ideas? Thanks. ------------------
  8. I've got to agree. Keep them in .wav, more importantly since it keeps it completely idential to the original, like a photo. If you put it to mp3, no matter what the bitrate, it loses a little bit of quality before going back to the CD. But, if you have to keep it in mp3, make it at least 160kbps, and the higher the better.
  9. His live sets are the best by far. My favorites are: 'Live at The Zoom, Tel Aviv' (08-26-00) 'Magik 6 Live in Amsterdam' (of course) 'In Search of Sunrise' ------------------
  10. Cheese, dated, music for the masses.... zzzzzzzz...
  11. Hey, Tiesto will be in on the next day (March 3rd) at Gatecrasher at Limelight.
  12. Hi, thanks a lot. It's almost perfect timing, since I'm thinking of going to NYC this March, and should be hitting Twilo, but not SF, since Tiesto is playing at Limelight that night. BTW, anyone been to Limelight? I know it's an old church and have seen pics + Lenny Kravitz's vid, but a firsthand opinion would be cool. Thanks.
  13. Yeah, Totally overrated. When everyone was saying he was the next greatest thing, I tried to find something from him that was good, found none. He's already dissapearing from the face of the earth.
  14. Nooooo!! No matter how tempting and how much you desire that person, resist! The girl's gonna use you or laugh at you. If it was mutual, you'd still be together, right? Let it go. . .
  15. Hope he doesn't. . . No matter what a DJ does in line, the moment he does a major rocker remix (not for $$$$, of course not), he loses ALL respect in my eyes . . . BTW, did you see Aero-sync in the superbowl HT? The world is coming to an end. . . Paul Van Dyk to Dick Van Dyke It's a lovely holiday with Mary . . .
  16. Relax . . . it wasn't a personal bash or anything . . . just that a lot of people (especially americans WHOSE first language is english) i've come across mess it up . . . And, i've always wanted to put the pics of them up side by side. Enjoy him next month, I wish I could
  17. Damn it!!!!! Spell his name right! I hate it when people new to the scene screw it up. Dick Van Dyke Paul Van Dyk
  18. OK, When it comes do techno/dance music, I know my s**t, but exactly are Sasha and you meaning by breaks and beats? I've heard different people say different things, and am a little confused. Are you meaning funky hard beats, with a strong bassline, or more d&b-like breaks? Give me some examples of artists/DJs/tracks like this . . .
  19. Getting 'Travelling' isn't as difficult as it seems. The easiest way for me was to go to a huge music store like Virgin Megastore. I saw it there, but i'm living in Chicago right now, so I don't know about the NYC one. If that's hard to get to, go to an online foreign music store like http://www.dotmusic.com/shop/ . If you can't wait, you can usually find it on Napster. I like oakenfold most of the time (even if he is cheezy), but I think you're not missing out on much with that one.
  20. Yeah, If you have a slow CPU (350MHz and under), combined with an old burner, you can get 'buffer underrun' errors when doing other things, even if there's some screwy program going on in the background. What I would recommend is getting one of the new 12X or 16X burners that clearly have some sort of 'burnproof technology' on them. It basically eliminates any of that nonsense, and will work with the oldest computer. Otherwise, don't screw around while you make your CDs.
  21. He's just whining because their ship is sinking. To be honest, I think Christina Aguilera IS more creative than they are, and that's giving them more credit than they deserve. Let those dinosaurs die.
  22. What it looks like you are doing is using that DirectCD thing to download it straight to the CD! That's a no-no! You've got to download it to the hard drive, then pick it. As long as you have it installed, use that Easy CD Creator program (It comes with almost every burner). Go through the wizard for audio cd's and it'll allow you to pick all the tracks you want for the CD. Then click and that's it. It's really not that bad, and there's no need for any of that WAV stuff anymore.
  23. Hey, While i've got to agree that Human Traffic is a lot more real than other things from the past, some of it was cheezy as f**k! All these sing-alongs, chants, and 'clubber's comedown'? Made my stomach turn. ... Let's top it off with a 17-year old kid convincing Carl Cox as a club owner that he's with Mixmag . . . ?? Not that it didn't have its moments (the dealer, the kid being waaay to enthusiastic about rolling, the older clubbers, etc.)
