dont know if this is posted already but here it is anyway...my man DJ Tiesto is #1!!!!!! Last night, October 31st, at the DJ Magazine ´DJ Top 100´ award the new annual DJ top 100 of the world was anounced. Tiësto was officially elected the number one DJ in the world. Tiësto, who was at number six last year, is the first non British DJ to win this prestigious award. Last year Sasha, Paul van Dijk, Paul Oakenfold, Danny Tenaglia and John Digweed were held in higher regard. Now these gentlemen will have to grant Tiësto the honour of being the best DJ in the world for a whole year. Tijs Verwest, as he is known in real life, won several Dutch and international awards, earlier this year. He is currently touring for 5 weeks in the U.S. hitting all the major cities. In Las Vegas he was informed about his number one position and immediately launched into celebrations. He was extremely happy with the result and very surprised, despite all the awards he won this year. Tïësto:`This is like my ultimate dream come true, becoming number 1 in DJ Mag´s top 100!`. The DJ Mag top 100, which was held for the 8th time, is the worldwide standard from which to measure a DJ´s popularity. Since 1993, when the Top 100 was first published , it is the list used by promotors, clubowners and organisations to determine who will be the most appreciated artists for their crowds. The reason why it is so highly regarded, is that the list is completely unbiased and compiled entirely from the people´s votes. It is the most respected, valued and feared DJ chart in the world. DJ´s who have been on the number one spot are Carl Cox, Paul Oakenfold, Sasha and John Digweed. From September 6th untill October 10th the people could vote. DJ Magazine will be available worldwide in stores today.
