  1. Well, I've never been a huge Oakenfold fan but some of the live sets I've heard from him lately he's played some good dark hard progressive so it's tempting to go see him. But what makes it even more tempting is according to the flyer Hernan Cattaneo is going to be there also!!
  2. I thought Sasha's set was great. I love the look of crobar and the system there is incredible....it's just a shame there's never room to dance there. Somehow even when it's crowded at Roxy you can still find room to dance. But I still had a good night. I thought the crowd was so so. It was somewhat trendy and seemed like there was a lot of people who were just there to be at a club not really for Sasha. But on the other hand there seemed to be a decent amount of people who were really into the music and it was still packed at 5 am well after the bar had closed so I guess the crowd was pretty into him.
  3. Yeah Racheal we met at Armin at Roxy.... I recognized you and said hi
  4. push vs globe - tranceformation was awesome and totally unexpected....everything else about the night basically sucked... Nothing will ever compare to the set I heard him spin at Exit when he opened with Hooligan - Hear you now (Grand Chillas Mix) and also played Salt Tank - Eugina (Micheal woods mix) (my fav trance song) and Technique - Sun is Shining (Matt Darey Mix). That night was my first time ever hearing trance live and it was absolutely amazing.
  5. The only reason why the vibe was good is because now every corny casual guido clubber out there thinks tiesto is the man because hes becoming more of a commercialized dj (not commercialized music but commercialized in popularity) so everyone goes crazy cuz they all think he's God now....but back in like 2000 when he REALLY WAS the God of trance they didnt know shit about him and still thought JP was the only and greatest DJ on earth. THe highlight of the night for me last night was Push vs Globe - Tranceformation..... I love that track and its not a common song that he plays. Other than that the night sucked..... I'm willing to put up with a big crowd but last night was overboard and you literally would get short on breath when u went out on the dance floor because it was so hot.... I'm now debating if Sasha is worht going to at Crobar cuz it might be really packed there too.
  6. I had a great time....I enjoyed Satoshi's set a lot but I agree it would have been nice to hear some of the darker house that he's known to play as well as the more groovey melodic stuff he was playing. And to Silverbull I think I saw you there towards the end.....I was the guy in the burgendy shirt dancing with the 2 hot girls (my friends) that all the guys were lookn at and takin pics of lol.
  7. To answer the question of when Hernan will be back I talked to him after he finished his set and he said in July but he's not sure which club. As far as the question of what style he plays its generally progressive house. He tends to vary his style a lot though in the house realm..... I have a few of his cd's that are very dark and kinda chill. I also have one of his CD's thats more on the groovy side. That's how he played when I saw him at Centro-Fly...kinda on the groovey side. At Spirit he played more upbeat and a little bit more melodic but still on the progressive side of things. I preferred his Spirit set over his Centro-Fly set but I enjoyed both.....and yes his mixing was great. As far as his interaction with the crowd he doesnt go crazy like the Dutch guys tend to (Ferry Corsten, Tiesto, Armin) but he tends to just give this "in the zone" type stare to the crowd to show he's really feeling the music...which is kinda cool. He IS one of the best DJ's in the world.
  8. Hernan was great last night!. I didn't think it sucked at all. The crowd wasn't amazing but there was a lot of people into it from what i saw and it was nice that there was room to move. For the person who was putting Hernan down I think you should learn more about the music before you run your mouth....hes a great DJ. I liked his set when he was at Centro-Fly but his set last night at Spirit was even better.....now i can't wait for next week to see Satoshi Tomiie.
  9. Thanx for the tracklist... but I noticed one mistake. Velvet Morning wasn't the Mirco de Govia mix (which is the best mix by the way) but the Aalto Mix. I agree with everyone.....it was a great night. I haven't danced that hard in a long time...my legs are still sore and it's monday. That was the first time that there were a lot of songs I didn't recognize also. Amazing night. Oh...and it was nice meeting racheal. I didn't meet anyone else though.
  10. Yeah, I don't know what to do..... Armin is my fav dj but I'd love to see creamer live especially and wouln'd mind seeing Sander either.....plus i like Crobar a lot better thna roxy.......dammit I hate having to make decisions like this.
  11. I know Crobar is a pain in the ass if ur a guy and you don't have females with you.....but what if u have tickets that u ordered in advance? Are they really gonna still turn guys down? That would be pretty dick of them.
  12. Ummmm...its not selective anything. You obviously can't arrest every single person or group of people that has done a drug or repeatedly does drugs. A shit hole like SF is targeted because it makes itself an easy target. It basically aids and abets huge groups of people doing drugs on a regular basis. Should the cops go after them or the 2 high school kids smoking weed in their basement? You obviously go after the big fish. It makes sense. I have absolutely no remorse for these people. Even though I like going clubbing and obviously don't want to see them all close if people are doing bad things in the clubs then I can understand and accept the fact that the law needs to step in. It's easy to disagree with something when it adversely affects you. But it's a lot more honorable to stand up for whats right when you are not going to benefit from it. I love clubbing... but don't get mad at the "evil cops" for doing whats right. Theres no one to blame besides the moral lacking people who do the drugs and sell the drugs.
