Does anyone know if you can go to spirit without going to CP? I'm kind of broke as are my friends and don't know if we can afford both and would kind of prefer to see him at spirit. How was he last summer in the park?

Ok so I've been posting on this board for a while but I've never really met anyone. I'm going to PVD tonight with two friends of mine and thought perhaps tonight would be a good opportunity to meet some of you guys. Where do most people meet up or whatever at the Roxy?

Up at Vassar we would get a gigantic tub and put 2 (cheap) handles of vodka, and handle of rum 6 or 7 bottles of juice and two large containers of fruit punch koolaid powder with the appropriate amount of water..... gotta love jungle juice... ahhh college. We also found it works best when you use a bunch of pineapple and cranberry juices.

So I printed out this flier from the Centro Fly website that said you can skip the line and go right in......well apparently the people at the door can't read because they told me and my friend to go onto three different lines and wait. Finally after an hour of being given the run around we left. Does anyone know how it went?
Also.. the table minimum was $500 - is that normal or am I just a broke ass out of college kid who thinks thats fucking crazy?

Poughkeepsie is kind of a weird area to party in. If you want a bar type place to go dance you can go to McCoy's which is by Marist on rt 9, but I don't really know if it will be crowded at all since Marist is out for the summer. I've only heard bad things about the Matrix, but thats only me. If you want to head up to New Paltz you should check out P&G's which is so much fun and has a great atmosphere (there is a very small cover though). Newburgh is fun too and has some cool bars and clubs on the Waterfront area like Front Street (if you're really drunk).

Oakie played a pretty good set and definitely entertained the crowd. All I could see was a sea of bobbing heads and people dancing their asses off. But thank god for the clubplanet area - I think I might have died from the heat. It was so nice to finally meet Dave and teklord - I'm one of the newbies that you met. All in all it was a good night... especially after stopping at Gray's Papaya's for a recession special.. mmmmm....

dub16, I almost went to barnard as well! Biopsych is the shit, although it does kind of rape you of a social life sometimes. I remember those days when I had a lab every afternoon - sophomore year is always the worst for a science major. Just think though, the semester is almost over and then PARTAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh my god.. bliss is the only way you can describe how amazing it was to dance in the rain. PVD put on one of his best shows in central park and got the crowd so excited. It was absolutely unbelievable. One of those nights when you just had to be there to understand.
Spirit was awesome, but it was really crowded and not really as much room to dance. The crowd went wild when he came on and at least where I was everyone was loving every second of it. He just kept on playing more and more until finally the sprit people had to pull the plug on him. All in all it was a night to remember for a long time. Cheers to pvd.
