Well pardon fucking me, I was all the way in the back and couldn't see a damn thing till I moved up later on when DT was indeed onstage. So I was mistaken, do you need to be an asshole about it?

And by the way, if I was partying sober (and usually do), then how the fuck can I be an e-tard???

  2. I am listening to the mp3 as I type this...the original song is great but Fatboy's remix is AMAZING...he gets a bad rap from some people for being too commercial but he really knows how to take a song and give it a whole new life with his remixes. I'm looking forward to picking up Timo's new disc when it comes out b/c I like what I've heard so far.

  3. Try this:

They played back in Nov., but I don't know where. I even got the flyer at Centro-Fly and tossed it thinking, "The Avalanches? Whatever....". I am kicking myself now for that. I'm sure they will be back b/c they are going to be big. That CD has been out in Australia for almost a year and it was just released here in Oct. so they are set to break out big here I think. I've heard a lot of people raving about them in the last month or so. I myself am on a mission to make everyone listen to that CD.

  4. Last night DJ Dan dropped a track that had a non-vocal sample that sounded like it was from "Rapture" by Blondie...does anyone know what this song is? It's pretty killer...

    Thanks.

  5. Sanchez is awesome. It's too bad he isn't more well-known in America. I hear he is huge in Europe. "Another Chance" is a great track but I never seemed to hear it in clubs around here.

I would go with DT's remix of I Feel Loved also for track of the year. Has anyone heard the Deep Dish remix of Depeche's "Free Love"? Awesome mix.

I heard Flight 643 for the first time yesterday and I also thought it was nothing special....

  6. I am also one of those people who first got turned on to "electronica" after discovering the Chems. "Exit Planet Dust" is a masterpiece. I heard it after "Dig Your Own Hole" and just love it so much better. It's a dance classic.

I think they did an amazing set at Centro, but it was just too crowded to really get a good groove on. As is the case when more well-known dance acts perform, there were too many people just standing around on the floor who were either too interested in making out or who thought they were too cool to actually dance. I hate paying $30 to not be able to go nuts on the dance floor. I was totally feeling the music and if I'd been able to groove more it would have been more of an intense experience for me. I think the Chems threw down some of the best beats I have ever heard at a club (up there with DT).

  7. It was indeed packed. I was up towards the front but there wasn't a good deal of room to dance most of the time. It would have been nice to have more space for everyone to dance, and it would have helped if the people who were standing around not dancing had stood off to the side instead of right in front of me (big pet peeve of mine). :)

  8. The Basement Jaxx show was SLAMMIN...they had a really cool light show, the dancers were great, and I was impressed by the live musicians, especially the singers. Highlights were Romeo, Red Alert and Where's Your Head At. Definitely an impressive act to see live.

  9. You peeps are so good with the song id's so maybe you can help me out with this one...

There is a song I heard a while back that samples the theme from "American Beauty" and there is a female voice at the beginning that says something like "You give meaning to the word...delicious...". Anyone know what song this is? I've also heard it on a Basement Jaxx DJ set and it's an awesome track.

  10. Awesome tune...actually the entire new Crystal Method CD is amazing...when I saw them a few weeks ago the new tunes were more impressive than the "Vegas" tunes they did.

  11. Wow, security seems to be more laid back than when I am usually at Vinyl...they usually inspect everything in my pockets (including opening my lipstick(!))...when I was there for DT 2 weeks ago the security woman thought the underwire from my bra was something I was hiding and proceeded to look down my shirt, which I thought was unnecessary. I don't know, maybe security is tighter on Friday nights. I am surprised you got in with an actual bottle of Ibuprofen too.
