  4. Join us this Saturday night @ Underbar for one of NYC's legendary scensters, SWAMY @ Underbar... I'm sure most of you have been to LeSouk for their infamous Sunday Sessions, and you know what kind of vibe Swamy brings... Hot off of his tour of ASIA, and recent gigs in LA, DC, the party @ Underbar is about to go to new levels... BIO Sunday night: while most folks are winding down their weekend, Sunday Sessions founder Swamy and resident DJs Astro&Glyde are marshalling a packed house of full-throttle party people on a 14-hour odyssey of funk-filled beats. Le Souk Sunday Sessions is the soundtrack for the energetic and non-stop house music bacchanal that keeps the weekend going into Monday morning in New York’s East Village. This double disc set captures the two sides of the Le Souk Sunday Sessions that have made these parties legendary as a global party destination: the sun-kissed sexiness on the terrace by day (Swamy) and the down ‘n dirty grooves by night inside (Astro&Glyde)! Seen from the street, the unassuming North African lounge/restaurant just looks like another East Village eatery; but inside, through the hookah-smoke filled passages, is a path to a different world. Sunday Sessions was born in the tiny sun-drenched lawn in the back of the restaurant, and the first parties immediately intimated images of the white island paradise of Ibiza. As the legends of the endless weekend spread and the party built up over the years, the owners of Le Souk met the demand of clubbers by building … down? Excavating 20ft down into the back patio, the party literally went underground. Now in its 4th year, with a newly expanded patio terrace, the Le Souk Sunday Sessions continues the journey. Sunday Sessions has also earned a special place in the global DJ circuit. New York City is a required stop for DJs touring the states, and before skipping town after a weekend of spinning at NYC’s top clubs, you’ll often find the world’s superstar DJs kicking back at Le Souk. Whether they’re gracing the decks as impromptu guest DJs or just taking the whole scene in, Le Souk Sunday Sessions has played host to Sasha, John Digweed, Danny Howells, Sander Kleinenberg, Roger Sanchez, Danny Tenaglia, Mr. C, The Scumfrog, Lee Burridge, Behrouz, and other elite players among the dance music cognoscenti. There’s an upfront energy and twisted journey you take at Le Souk where the DJs understand what it takes inspire a crowd and to keep the party going long after the weekend should technically be over. In the city that never sleeps, this is the weekend that never ends. It’s the latest incarnation in New York City’s tradition of outrageous parties, underground clubbing and hedonistic dance music. There’s no other place in America that brings together such diversity and experiences. In generations past there was Studio 54, Paradise Garage and The Loft, then Limelight’s heady club kid days that led into the DJ-centric era of Twilo and the explosion of DJ culture. Le Souk invokes all these memories with it’s full-throttle free-for-all party aesthetic and attitude. Let the Le Souk Sunday Sessions be your souvenir soundtrack for the summer and your passport to the party that never ends. email djjoemama@gmail.com for guestlist

  7. GRAND OPENING THURS APRIL 19 NEXT WEEK - 4.26 DJ DISCIPLE!!!!! www.catch22recordings.com Steven was here a few years back much to the delight of a lot of local party-goers. Since then, he has continued to make waves, putting on top performance @ this year's Stealth Records WMC party @ Mokai. Last years Big Love remix was everywhere... Steven's masterful skills behind the decks, equipped with efx & vermona filters provides the platform for spot-on live remixing. download a recent liveset: www.leecabrera.com/indamix djjoemama@gmail.com for guestlist. STEVEN LEE (LEE-CABRERA) “Give Steven Lee 5 minutes and he’ll have the place upside down…..” (GURU DISCO - VALENCIA, SPAIN) Sort of how its been for this NYC youngster. One half of the massive Lee-Cabrera team who’s 2003 “Shake It” record sought record of the year honors and champed a #10 National Pop Chart Selection with “Move a Little Closer” (the vocal version). Signed with Ministry of Sound world-wide and a regular on Pete Tong’s Essential Selection Steven Lee (Lee-Cabrera) in his short 4 years has tasted about all this business can offer. With regular visits every weekend to Spain, Russia ,Australia, China (to name a few) and a partnership with the infamous and now back again Strictly Rhythm records Mr. Lee aims high for the future. Now on his own and taking a hiatus from the Lee Cabrera name Steven Lee is finding his own creative ear in the studio both solo and together with other top artists in the industry. “Seems like yesterday it was “Shake It”, now 4 years later and touring all over the planet its time to get back in the studio and achieve even bigger things on my own and with other artists, Lee explains.” While getting his first taste in the business at the infamous Strictly Rhythm it wasn’t long before Mr. Lee found himself a home with the label both as a DJ mixing their famous compilations but also as a signed artist at SR with the legendary Albert Cabrera forming the Lee Cabrera tag. “X surly marked the spot” with these two producers, as their first project “Reach” Lil Mo Yin Yang the remake from house dons Louie Vega and Erick Morillo was one of the biggest records in 2002 with support from Pete Tong, Deep Dish, Roger Sanchez, Steve Lawler and many more. A short year later Steven Lee’s first original production with Lee Cabrera came “Shake It” (Move A Little Closer) a 2003 bomb still recognized as one of the biggest records in dance music. Its classic piano hook and ridiculous energy seemed to bring the ‘twist back in the hips’ of all club goers. Licensed to over 15 different territories and to over 50 compilations world-wide “Shake It” was even awarded the honors at the World Music Awards as it was licensed for their theme song in 2003-2004. From there the work just continued with follow up’s like “Special”, Phase 2 “Voodoo Love”, Exhibit A “G-Minor” and most recently in 2006 “I Watch You” for Ministry of Sound. With successful original work comes even more successful remix work, where Steven Lee has seen over 50 to date with records like “My Time”- Crystal Waters, “It’s Up To You” - Layo & Bushwacka, “Safe From Harm” - Narcotic Thrust, “Stars”-Morjack, “Rosa Blu”-Planet Funk, “Plastic Dreams” Jaydee, “Bang Bang”- feat Nancy Sinatra Audio Bulleys, “Big Love”- Pete Heller, “The Rub”- Kurd Maverick and “Not Enough”- Roger Sanchez as of recent and forthcoming on Stealth Records. With an ‘in your face, jaw dropping’ style of DJing Steven Lee has found himself at the forefront of some of the biggest clubs in the world and a feature on many YouTube links with his infectious technical and stand out style earning him the nickname by his mates as “Baby Morillo”. “I’m definitely a better jock than I am a producer, I feel. I love the big show and love twistin a few thousand people up in knots while kissin them all at the same time”. There is no better rush then being under the lights and delivering everything and more to those that pay you to be there. It’s a business and if you don’t sell tickets then your out, I like to think there’s always going to be a party when I’m at the helm”. With regular dates in Spain, China, Russia, Australia, South America and a full tour diary already throughout the 2007 summer, there is no doubt that even bigger things are to come for this guy. 9. BIO: Like any respectable DJ worth their weight in vinyl, Vivie-Ann really knows how to work a room. Along with the taste-making mixes she drops nightly on dance floors across the world, the 23-year-old Montreal DJ carries a reputation for orchestrating a spectacular fusion of mischief, music and mayhem. Glitter pranks, moustache parties and bananas that double as phone devices. Even pepperoni pizzas perfectly matched on turntables. Nothing is sacred – except the music. Although she hides her seriousness about the industry fairly well, the girl gets down behind the booth and more recently in the studio. A six-year student of conservatory piano and a graduate of McGill University's computer science program, she has the musical education of a mathematically-inclined composer hell-bent on moving mountains in dance music. Her sets cover everything house with a hint of ping or pong – anything that makes hands fly in the air or bouncing to the beat with a perma-smile. She'll very likely surprise you with her choice of classics. When asked to describe her sound, Vivie-Ann rattles off the description "bump in the night with a little dynamite," a twinkle in her eye, adding that her sets could also be called "morally immoral." With a list of star-studded gigs, appearances and guest spots under her belt, including clients like Cirque du Soleil, Budapest Love Parade and MTV Europe, she currently holds residencies at some of the most celebrated hotspots across the globe, including (but not limited to) Palladium in Acapulco, Hulala in Rome Mokai in Miami, and last year in Ibiza @ Penelope. The former prom queen has lent her sexy blend of house music to the Fuck Me I'm Famous Party with David Guetta and Bob Sinclair, the Brahma Beer Tour, the Toronto Film Fest and an unlikely collaboration with the Metro 7 clothing line launch for Wal-Mart® that resulted in a massive amount of dirty dancing in the discount superstore's Miami Beach location. She has also worked with some of the biggest names in the music industry, but we won't bore you with the laundry list of who's who. We will tell you about her upcoming releases so you can support them. In October 2006, her first major remix release, an amped-up version of Kobbe & Austin Leed's "Bodyshaker," produced alongside witty studio partner Maher KD, was released on Peter Rauhofer's Star69 Record Label. Other releases are due out on Pure Substance and Mile End Records in early 2007. In the mean time look out for her quirky edits. Most recently, Vivie-Ann is concentrating on a production journey with her partner, DJ Kevin Barnett for their DJ collective, 02music, and the launch of their new DJ-inclined clothing line, ADD (Addicted DJ Designs). For Vivie-Ann, it's a natural progression. She lives for the moment when she converts yet another dance floor, another listener or another participant in this journey we call house Doors @ 11PM - email djjoemama@gmail.com for guestlist Underbar 275 Tremont Street
