Marco V was good last night. Kept me dancing from 3 til 5. Too bad his set was so short. If any of you noticed, the guy who spun after him was talking on his cell by the entrance (at least when I came in ~2:45).

Last night was great. PVD trance lord, mixing it up with the old, new and definitely the remixed. Of course, I got there late due to some unexpected pit stops, but made it in I guess before the cutoff time. Two hour waits outside the clubs are hell. And me between unhappy Asian groups, not too fun.
Does anyone remember what PVD's t-shirt said last night?
And do you guys xanga? Lots of people meeting up from xanga these days.

there are sites where you can download, courtesy of someone really nice...so don't exploit...www.djmixes2.com, but he updates it so the sets come and go and you just have to get them when they are there, also itwt, there's a link on the other site for it.

ooh last thing, if you ever get up to bologne or pisa, big party spots (b/c of the college population). bologne seems to be the home of many bxr parties

That's my point, he used to be A LOT more diverse in his sets. No doubt, I still consider him to be better than most trance DJs out there. In the end, the point is...he's shifted alot more into HARD trance, which I find to be kind of annoying. His old sets were alot more enjoyable. As for funky house, prog...it'd be great if he really played more of it, but his set from 45 minutes in until the end barely had any traces of that. Maybe a good 10 minutes of electro and breaks...that's about it.
ALSO, from what I hear, he doesn't play the same kind of sets in Europe as he does in the US. As in, he plays sets that're more diverse and often more techno oriented in Europe. This just means I'm going to have to go see him there...
Oh well, just gonna have to try Flemming when he comes around.
yeah i def heard he spins differently for europe...point is he was trying to give us a taste of it, but he saw the crowd's reaction and it wasn't positive. after all he goal is to make us dance...which he did

great music, good set, great man
and he signed over my face!

Quite honestly, the music was good, but not great. PvD is not what he used to be anymore, which is a shame. It's much harder, and the diversity in his sets are near lost. Also, the mixing was NOT perfect like someone described, and there were quite the few major cheezers. However, lots of good tracks I don't know, and a couple of new and old classics made it mad fun.
damn some people are hard to please, but i just wanted to say that pvd did try to put in some diversity to the set, but no one took to it...i think the slow progressive stuff that was mentioned earlier, the funky housey stuff is definitely more his thing these days, but we're still stuck on good old fashioned trance

imo he's doing this b/c roxy went so well. if ppl didn't show him genuine support, do you think he'd really be rushing back to spin for charity? PVD knew what we put up with. the long lines, the crazy cover, the sweatbox inside... but the elusive VIBE was there, more than it was at either sf or exit. those last couple hours were intense.
thank the ppl who made it as incredible as it was. pvd is.
good call!

I feel like a total moron for dropping 50 bucks on a ticket when I could have waited till Monday and spent 10 and heard him in a much smaller venue with a much better sound system.
Gotta love how they just announced it the day after everyone dropped all their cash. Son of a bitch.
if we didn't show up and showed pvd our support, i wondered if he would have come back....

second to last song of the night gaia-4 elements. he ended it light for us...but loved the deep stuff he spun...this set sounded a lot like the amnesia@ibiza set that was online...maybe he now thinks we can handle the deeper heavier stuff
overall good night...crowd, sound system and all
-
i knew it was going to be crowded, but it lasted longer than 4, which is when all the true lovers of music stay and all the rest leave (that's my simple way of seeing things). the crowdedness and the heat was unbearable, but at least the crowd was friendly and pvd crazy
pvd started banging out the beats as soon as he took over the booth, and continued throughout the night. But for all those who left early... you missed hour 5 and on (7-8:30)... amazing (what my barosoap calls the fan's reward for staying till the end)...the floor looked like it was emptying out at 7, and then all of a sudden inspiration seemed to hit pvd or soemthing and all the people came back and packed the floor until he stopped at 8:30.
fave moments of the night were when he mixed conjure one-sleep into for an angel into a delirium-silence/for and angel mix and during the end of his encore when he held up a "I love NY" bag:grin3:
-
lol no but i was ready to name the other songs pvd played during his 6 and 1/2 hour set:D
