  1. I have posted my pictures from Halloween. I covered Night of the Dragon in Belle Meade on Saturday and made it to Lola and Rain on Halloween night. Not too many locations, but some great costumes, nonetheless -- and hundreds of pictures. And yes, there are at least a couple of DJ pictures thrown in for good measure!

  2. The White Party is a fundraiser event and its about much more than dancing and the music. The whole "scene" is to show up wearing something really fabulous and then walking around the grounds of Viscaya. There are sit-down areas devoted to food and Jazz. Dancing is kind of secondary.

Its definitely worth the money to experience just ONCE assuming you are in the mood , and the event attracts a very mixed crowd.

If you are in it more for the dancing you are best to go to the Seaquarium event this year "White Dreams" (who comes up with these names?) -- TRUE, you are more likely to find a more "gay" dance environment (i.e. sweaty bodies and packed dance floor), but the setting, sound system and the DJ will be worth it, and you will probably be able to find a few pockets of straight-dom to dance in.

White Party this year appears to be following in the tracks of Winter Party in that the week boasts a full slate of parties and name DJs. I am attaching a link to the White Party website and you can check out the schedule

Hope that helps, or I hope you were at least entertained. And if you go to White Party, make sure to wear something nice:hat:

  3. I have just posted pictures from my first Billboardlive experience --last Sunday's "Classic Tea Dance" A link to my DJ gallery is provided -- DJ Joe Gauthreaux from New Orleans made his MiamiBeach Debut.

WARNING: If you don't like sweaty shirtless men or if you don't want to see a bunch of go go dancers running around the stage with a drag queen and a Green M&M you are probably best to avoid Galleries 1 and 3!

If you only want to see my favorite DJ shot, just open the attachment and check out my web site some other time.

  4. Hopefully this will cheer everyone up a bit.

Last night at Back Door Bamby, 7-year-old (some say 8) Little Monster (Jonathon Martin) tore up the turntables. This was not a novelty act -- he really turned it on. He even brought his homeys (at least I THINK that was his mom with the video camera).

Watch out for this one. (I think when I was that age all I had was one of those little music things with the handle that you turn)

Sending a link to my galleries:

Congrats to Carmel and Mykel for pulling this one off.

    Further notes:

    1) Back Door Bamby DJ Gigi is in the hospital as the result of a hit and run. Wishing him a speedy recovery. I am not sure if he needs it. Until I find out more -- if you are interested in contributing to his medical expenses, etc. I suggest you contact crobar or send me a message and I will pass the info to the Back Door Bamby guys.

    2) Sometimes I get it sometime I don't -- I successfully attached an image with one of my prior posts, but if all you see is an X this time then you can simply download the same image as an attachment.
