I have never in 13 years of doing production seen an install that was totally wrong on all counts. There's loads of stories to tell you about it.

The existing Avalon system was never installed correctly. There were so many blown speakers, wrong size cables, not wired correctly and on and on and on. The system was never "slick". What we're doing is totally disassembling the PA and starting from scratch, even the electrical system. Bringing it back to 100% and rehanging and repositioning the speakers to where the dancefloor will kick ass. We've also added 36,000 watts of fresh power for the new bass setup. So the system will still be EAW Avalon, but it'll be install the right way. Hopefully we'll be able to go through the entire club and make every room 100%. It won't sound like NEXO, but it's gonna be pretty damn close when we get done with it.

George Acosta will be playing this saturday, Sept 22, 2001 at Level Nightclub on South Beach. We have totally disassembled the existing audio system and reinstalling it the proper way, so George can bring you mad flava all night long. I know everyone is tired of watching the news so come on out to LEVEL and help us break-in the new system.

Have your heard Ben Richards before? Ben is what you call unfound treasure. When he gets a residency in one of these clubs I think the sound will change dramatically. His brand of Hard House is smoking and he doesn't have the "DJ" attitude. For 2 step, you're probably thinking of the bouncy type 2 step. There is alot of harder stuff out particularly by Zed Bias. There is also Break Step that's really massive in the UK right now. Like I said, South Beach is way behind. It time to step it up a bit.

Over and over and over I hear the same old sappy ass Trance in clubs on South Beach. When is one club going to get bold enough to bring in some Hard House in one room and some bangin 2 Step in a second room? I mean come on, we've been dragging the Trance thing out for well over 4 years now without throwing some new sounds in the mix. Sure the rave scene is playing a variety of music, but what's up with the Miami club scene? There's so many DJ's that haven't played in Miami yet. I'd like to go see DJ Irene or Lisa Lashes bangin out some phat Hard House. Or even checkout Artful Dodger or Zed Bias rippin up some wicked 2 Step. Miami is supposed to be "Trend-setting." So far all I see in "Follow the leader."

Ok so many of you may know that I design several large festivals in south florida. My question is would you like to experience this on a regular basis, in a large nightclub on south beach? I've been to several places on south beach and it seems that the club scene is more about "Bling Bling" and "Champagne". What happenned to the killer music? World Class DJ's and awesome interior decor? I think it's time to bring the REAL South Beach back. Don't you agree??
