like NLCS Game 7 for Mets fans, that was so ouch for Rutgers fans
Great game though, and it was fun watching at a bar in Hoboken (I didn't go to Rutgers, but I guess growing up in NJ is my connection)
It seemed that special teams didn't do a very good job early in the game, especially on kickoffs to WVU.
Then late in the game, you could say that either the defense didn't come through when it counted the most, or WVU came up with great plays when they needed to.
Despite all of that, Rutgers had a good number of chances to win the game, but came up short. Seemed to be quite a game of inches.
btw, congrats to Schiano, who will be named The Home Depot "Coach of the Year"

USC is the #2 team in the nation. period.
UCLA seems to have other thoughts about that right now
-
Only Jono and Tony
if I'm not mistaken, Paavo doesn't spin.
Anyways, I enjoyed it more when they played at Spirit, but it was still a fantastic time. Maybe I liked it more the first time because the floor wasn't so packed (that damned main floor layout at Pacha).
There was a bit of a make-out room down in the basement, with some entertaining action happening there

Rangers seem to be French toast, being outscored by the Devils in the first 3 games, 12-2

Otsuka strikes out Gourriel for the final out, as Japan beats Cuba, 10-6 to win the WBC
It was a pretty exciting game until Japan blew it open in the top of the 9th
-
third time a charm for Japan, as they beat Korea, 6-0 to advance to the final
Byung Hyun Kim gave up a big home run that broke the scoreless tie and probably brought back memories of the 2001 World Series
-
Cuba beats DR, 3-1 for its second revenge win, and advances to the final
-
USA doesn't get it done, and loses to Mexico, 2-1
They're eliminated by the narrowest of margins
Japan moves on instead, and must be very thankful of the Mexicans
-
Just like in the 2002 soccer World Cup, Korea bails out USA, with a 2-1 win over Japan
Now USA has to do its business and beat Mexico
-
Cuba advances to the semis with a 4-3 win over Puerto Rico, avenging their loss in Round 1
Seemed like an exciting game, from what I followed online
-
if Japan wins, USA can still advance if Japan scores 8 or more runs, but that will be a tall order against a Korea pitching staff that has a 1.40 ERA for the tournament
I don't know about Korea, but Japan started its spring training on Feb 1

Hernan never fails to amaze... the last time he played crobar with Jason Jollins was an amazing night!!
-
Dominican Republic is the first team to move into the final four, with a 2-1 win over Venezuela, holding them to 1 hit
Japan beats Mexico 6-1, which doesn't help the cause for the USA
For USA to advance, they'll need to beat Mexico, and a win by Korea over Japan
-
Korea beats USA, 7-3
-
it was quite a good game, so it's unfortunate that there was that controversy
-
PR beats Cuba by mercy rule, 12-2 in 7 innings!
Cuba's winning streak in international play is snapped with their worst loss ever.

making an escape from WMC?
seems like many NYC ppl will be in Miami during that time
-
maybe taking a bit of drama out of it, but Mexico keeps USA alive by scoring 4 runs in the 1st inning against Canada
A 1-0, 2-0, or 2-1 win by Mexico would've eliminated USA tonight
A win by Canada would've allowed USA to lose to South Africa (but they'd have to give up fewer than 6 runs), but it's looking like it's all Mexico here, so USA will have to win.
-
Has anyone else been watching?
I've been enjoying the games.
How shocked are you by USA losing to Canada?
I'm sure interest has increased at least somewhat because of it, but it will probably go down if USA somehow doesn't advance
-
USA loses 4 straight 1-goal games and is eliminated by Finland
-
interesting that the US lost its last 3 games, but still advance to the medal round
Now it seems they'll need another Miracle On Ice to beat Finland, who have been undefeated so far, and have given up just 2 goals in 5 games
-
yup, me too
however, Pedro's big toe is still hurting
-
men's ice hockey shocker - Switzerland beats Canada, 2-0!
this comes just 1 game after they beat the Czechs

Great to see Jason rockin' it on that side of the world, much like he does here in NYC. Terrific technical skills, and unparalleled selection of music!
