Still looking up stuff for new year's eve, can anyone please tell me how the Metronome is? What type of crowd goes there? Anybody been there for new year's before? Any replies would be greatly appreciated.

I was originally planning on doing a new year's eve cruise with friends, but one of my friends mentioned the Soho Grand Hotel today, wondering if anyone's been there? Is it good on new year's eve?

I'm from brooklyn, and bay ridge has a great bar scene, but the place blue zoo that you refer to is NOT a club, it is the blue zoo lounge. Cool scene, but it's a lounge, not a club, so it's not that big in size. Great for a typical friday or saturday night out in the neighborhood but I wouldn't want to spend new year's eve in a neighborhood bar. I don't know what the blue zoo lounge is doing for new year's eve, but they always have a dj, problem is there's no space for a dance floor. If you really want to do brooklyn for new year's eve you should look into what the clubs in bay ridge are doing. Mostly bars there, but there are a few clubs. Forewarning: mostly guido crowd in clubs like Legacy and Gazebo, can't stand those clubs, but love the bars in bay ridge. But hey if you like hanging out with lots of guidos then check out what those 2 clubs have going on for new year's eve. I'll be going to the city for new year's, don't want to be in the same bars I go to all year long, but if you've never been here then it might be cool for u.

Thinking of doing the party cruise thing, anybody done it before? Know of any good city cruises?

Hey everyone! It's hard organizing friends together for new year's eve, we've all agreed on doing a cruise this year. Somehow I always end up being the person to plan these things, so anyone got any good recommendations for cruises? I found a few on this site, including the Circle Line New Year's Eve Cruise, but I prefer word-of-mouth from people who have actually gone on any cruises. Anyone been on any good new year's eve cruises? Would like to also know age crowd it attracts? My friends and I are in our mid to late twenties.
