  1. By far, without a doubt Carl Cox had the best set. For the first time a dj had me hooked the entire hour. His set was just intense. Definately my vote for #1
  2. Lets see what happens after the WMC. We should all know by this summer what direction the station will take. Just to know there's something else out there other than Power is a great start.
  3. I think the biggest leap in programming has been the "Paul Oakenfold presents" every Sunday from 10 to midnight.
  4. At first I was dissapointed. Not any more. They have started to show progress in the right direction. Live Mixing on Fri and Sat. On Sundays from 10- midnight is Paul Oakenfold. They already hired thier first on air dj and first mixer. I beilive they are waiting for the winter Music conference or sometime right after that. The program direct has been there since early Feb. One thing I can assure you is it wont be anither Power 96. Power never gave or supported this music till 99' when the mix and Grooveradio kicked in. Personally, they will never have my support. With the on air dj issue, since they are trying to stay away from hiring other station dj's in the S. Fla market, its taking a little while longer to find the talent. All I can say is be patient, some progress has been made and will continue to be made but please dont ever compare it to power.

    Hope for 93.1?

Your right. I think the freestyle throws it off. I think they only play like one every hour, but I understand what your talking about. They should stick to all forms of dance music. God knows there's plenty out there.

    Hope for 93.1?

Because they play dance and freestyle. Diamond girl is considered freestyle. They also play other old school freestyle tracks. They have stated that in their programming from the very beginning (Dance & Freestyle). I'd rather here that than ghetto music any day.

    Hope for 93.1?

From what I know, there are a lot of things in the works for 93.1. For one, they are going to be the official station of the Winter Music Conference and Ultra. They already began hiring their on air staff. Dont ask me who cause I cant say. Be patient. I know a lot of the songs they play have been played out by Power but understand this is commercial radio. What will put the station on the map is when they hire their mix team and when they go live from clubs. As some of you who knows me from Grooveradio, we have been in an endless battle to change some of the programming we here today on radio. Words cannot describe what I feel about what Power96 has done to commercial radio in Miami for the last 10 years. Thay used to be so different then. Today I was driving with my nephew whos 9 and he was scanning the radio which stopped on power and they were playing the trina song that goes lick my neck, my back, my pu** whatever, I get frustrated. Thay have fucked up radio and its time for us to support 93.1. If you have any comments , ideas, or suggestion please feel free to e-mail the program director @ www.party931.com. His name is Phil Micheals. Beleive me, he reads all his mail.
  8. "AS LONG AS POWER 96 LETS THERE DJ'S DO THERE THING, I THINK WELL ALL BE FINE" NO. I THINK YOU'LL BE FINE, YOU CANT SPEAK FOR THE OTHER 99% ON THIS BOARD. No one in clubland respects Power 96. They have had many years to proove to us they are what made this scene when in reality it has been the people (all of us ) whos has made them change some of there programming. Started with the Mix Afterhours. Teens from all over S.Fla packed that place. The word spread quickly throughout county high schools about this awesome music (trance) and next thing you know calls to power 96 was non stop with teens trying to request certain songs. I never mention names of on air dj's there but one of them told my main promoter that we would never play that "crazy shit with no words" on our station. Couple months later Grooveradio 107.1FM was born giving people of all ages a chance to expirience this awesome music on a nightly basis. Then all of a sudden Power started playing 6 month old trance claiming to the masses of people out there they were the first to play it. This pissed a lot of people of. When power realized the amount of calls they were getting for this type of music, they put Alvarado spinning it from 2 to 4 am on Sat. At that time Grooveradio had already been on the air 3 months and doing very well. They did not like the fact there was someone else out there playing what they claimed was the music they started. So, they called FCC on Groove and we were shut down 3 months after that. I give mad props to Luis and club space. Anything to push our music foward has my approval and support always, but to hire the same people who for over 12 years did not do shit for our music or scene. Who laughed at the thought of trance being played at power. Who till this day, have yet to hire or allow our top local dj's on their airwaves tells me Luis only made this move not because of the people who are regulars and support Space no matter what. Not because of the fact NOBODY respects Power 96 when it comes down to our scene but because of MONEY. How many dj's on Power do you see play @ Ultra? Till now how many had a residency @ a top House club? This was a desperate move from Luis to try to get more people on an already hurting Friday. At the same time your loosing the respect of a lot of people who put Space on the map in the first place. Please dont reply with the same bullshit that well eveybody that talks shit about Space comes to space anyways when they bring a top dj to spin. NO SHIT. Bring Okie or Cox to BBL or Crobar and see how many heads will go out to Space that night.
  9. First of all, when I heard those to names together, it took me 5 minutes just for it to sink in. I still dont believe it. Next thing you'll here Eddie mix spin will be his favorite blend of mixing a house or trance track with some 2live crew in the background. A more fucked up scenario is the fact that some people out there think it sounds good. What a waste of a night.

Yeah, we really had a great time playing the jams. I am trying on getting into commercial radio but I understand that A) They must really want you You have to Kiss too much ass and C) Have someone on the inside get you in. I wont do B, which is the most common for a regular joe blow to get in. A lot of peole often tell me to forget commercial radio and continue thriving for Pirate radio. Beleive me, it has been on the back of my mind. I'm trying to be a good boy but there's always a possibility of us coming back sometime this year. I also want to see what 93.1 is going to do. If they stay close to what there are doing now, we would definately be back. I really miss all the phone calls and the great number of support we received doing it. You guys really put us out there. So out there that (I wont mention the name) had to tell Kid at Power and 3 months after that, we were gone. They dont like me there too much. But they just really suck and I wanted to do something about it. It was really fun while it lasted but you what? We still have all the equipment. Whos knows. Peace.
