An Integral part of the Baltimore/DC scene, Charles is often credited with helping to put the scene on the house music map. In 1992 he joined forces with fellow DJ Scott Henry to launch Fever, a club event that introduced the sounds of electronic music to his hometown. Bronx-born, Harlem-raised Odi entered the scene in the early 90s and gave it his kind of direction. “I grew up around 125th street, the home of hip hop. So it was natural to be an aggressive DJ, putting in the hip hop elements. It’s what I know.†His break came around after high school, when running promotions for the famous NASA rave parties at Club Shelter grew into a steady DJing slot. +++ Heather Heart (Sonic Groove) One of the better known techno DJ’s, Heather has been traveling the country promoting her diverse styles for over a 20 years. A key player, she has been bringing the sound and culture of electronic underground to the forefront since the early years. Featured in such publications as Paper, Billboard, New York, XLR8r, FrontPage, Village Voice and Jane, her work has been recognized for her captivating style and contributions to the advancement of Electronic Music. The fanzine 'Under One Sky' which Heather published from 91-96 created a forum for the US and global underground to meet and flourish. +++ DJ Knowledge (Columns of Knowledge) Knowledge is one of the original foundation layers for the underground dance circuit in the mid-90’s for New England. His evolving sound has taken audiences of 5 to 5000+ and turned rooms inside out worldwide. Always taking the time to hand select the most cutting edge production in the tracks he plays, his signature sound of genre-bending, layered, journey sets have transformed many minds and moved countless bodies over his 13 year career. In The Funk Hut Under The Stars ++++ DB (NASA) DB played an important role in bringing the sound of drum'n'bass to American shores. Emigrating from London to New York in 1989, DB kept tabs on the developing sounds of the British dance underground, and founded the NASA club, which was credited as the first American party to showcase the harder sound of breakbeat techno (which eventually became jungle/drum'n'bass). In 1993, he became the A&R director of sm:)e communications, In 1996, he co-founded Breakbeat Science, the first record store in America devoted exclusively to drum'n'bass and all its stylistic offshoots. DB departed sm:)e in 1998 to found his own label, F-111; the following year, his mix album Shades of Technology became one of 1999's more acclaimed and admired drum'n'bass mixes. DB next masterminded a Bukem-type compilation of F-111 tracks, The Higher Education Drum'n'Bass Session, which appeared in 2000. His official follow-up to Shades of Technology was released on the new Breakbeat Science imprint in summer 2001, under the title The Secret Art of Science. By 2005 he was on his fifth volume of the Breakbeat Science: Exercise series. He currently is involved with making new tracks and playing all over the world ++++ Joeski (Chocolate Factory) Joeski started djing in 1989 where he used to do house parties in Queens New York he then hooked up with some promoters in about 1991 and started to DJ Wunder Bar in NY he then started at the legendary Limelight on Thursday's followed by Nasa 1991-1992, it was then when he got into the rave circuit and did Thursday's after-hours at Save the Robots with DJ Keoki. After this he started traveling all over the USA and started his residency at the Roxy in about 1995, the party was called Together and he played there with, everybody you name it! Danny T, Little Louie Vega, Roger S, and on and on. ++++ Jason Jinx (NASA) You can’t make music if you don’t love it. And you can’t make great dance music if you don’t love to dance. Even now, with a well established DJ, production and remix career that keeps Jason Jinx more than busy, you’ll still see him out, taking in new music and working the dance floor just like he would back in the day as a teen. Back then in the late eighties / early nineties New York City was a melting pot of various clicks and scenes: industrial, techno, rave, hiphop, house Kids from all over: Brooklyn, NYC, Queens, Long Island they were all getting down. Jinx was one of them, and in 1991 at 19 years old the beginning of his DJ career was a natural extension of that partying experience. Over 40 singles – and remixes – have come out of Jinx’ studio for labels like Defected, Strictly Rhythm, Groove On, Eightball, Nervous, Ovum, and King Street to name a few.
