  1. Suns have a great 5, but when it comes down to it, I'm not sure it's a great starting 5. Stoudamire isn't really a center and Marion isn't really a PF, and once the game slows down towards the end of the season, that team could get exposed.

I'd still say it's between the Spurs, Kings and Wolves at the moment...

  2. they also got that catcher (forgot his name)

hey, I'm just goin off of what someone told me was being told on EEI

Kelly Stoppach - he's garbage. Oakland would love to get Youkilis and just put him at DH. They've been going after him for years. Brandon Moss is pretty decent as well from a Sabremetrics standpoint. Still, for Boston to get Hudson, they'd probably need to work out a 3-way deal. Fortunately, Beane and Epstein are both wizards at working the 3-way.

Now I'll take the Mets over the Yanks any day, but I'm gonna laugh next year when Pedro continues his steady decline, Glavine pitches like he's 40, Benson doesn't improve (or gets injured), Trachsel continues to decline and Zambrano still cant find the strike zone. Easily going to be the most overrated rotation in the majors. It seems like every new GM comes to the Mets and tries to make his mark with splashy long-term signings of guys who are already in the decline, leaving them in a perpetual state of disappointment. Funny thing is they're also the frontrunners to sign Moises Alou, another guy who fits that category...

OK, this is REALLY late coming...

But basically, just take as many open mic nights as possible. A friend of mine just got some breaks recently, and according to him, you just constantly go to open mic nights...4, 5 times a week. Test out new material, work on stage presence, see what works and what doesn't. Eventually, if you're able to get people to laugh, the club owners usually take notice and will hire you for like $50 to do stand-up on a non-open mic night. From there, you build up a resume and network, and eventually you can get fairly regular gigs. However, this is a very long and drawn out process, but there really isn't an 'easy' way to breaking into the business.

But then again, DG could just show pics of his old car. That license plate should garner a few laughs....

  6. a few nominees....

    Antiloop - In My Mind

Jondi + Spesh - We Are Connected (sure, we'd call it progressive now, but it was trance back then)

Da Hool - Meet Her at the Love Parade

    Moonman - Galaxia

N-Trance - Set U Free (cheesy as hell now, but loved it back in the day)

    Tiesto - Sparkles

Sorry they're all older....my knowledge of trance from the last 3 years is extremely limited....

And, for possibly for the first time ever, I pretty well agree with Flix (other than In My Mind would easily be #1)

  7. The Gaeity is up in Times Square, but as the name implies, it's a gay strip club so I'm not sure how welcome women are there. Besides, the only people I've ever met who go there are 60 year old pedophiles who are still in the closet at their firms...

Personally I am a Trance-head but I like to see all genre's, I don't think anyone should dominate. But to all of those who said NYC is a House city would be 100% correct.

Silverbull, your a fool, and you like Ricky Corbo...

<-----trying to get some other genres some equal play :D

  9. gotta keep this short...it hurts to type...

thanks to everyone out last nite (and happy birthday San!)....after some of the crowd was scared off by inclement weather and evil dnb, I came on. Place started to pick back up, so I kept on playing, but 3 hours is long w/o a smoke break. So at about 3, put on a 10 minute track to have a few drags. Unbeknownst to me, the door (always open) had been shut. Thus I went through it. An ambulence to the er, 5 hours and 20 stitches later, here I am. At least I won the fight with the door...I only have some gouges, but the door is no more. Fun night overall, minus the last part...

Thus, if anyone expected to see me at Danny, that's why I didnt make it...

  10. Hey all...

Just letting you guys know that Empress and Sneak-E-pete will be playing for us this week and should be banging the shit out all night long. We'll be starting an hour later this week (at 9) and going on until 4. In any case, should be a great place to pre-party before Arc, or just to hang out at all night. Plus, it's Memorial Day weekend, so you don't have to worry about that pesky 'work' stuff on Monday morning!

Hope to see some of you there (especially some of those who haven't made it out yet...)

    Here's where it's at

    Alibi

116 MacDougal St (between 3rd st and bleecker...it's down a staircase, so the sign's at eye-level)

    A,C,E,F,V,S to W. 4th St

  11. Woop woop! Twenty years of hell down, 20 more to go till I hit the mid-life crisis.

If any of you wanna help me celebrate by getting me drunk, I'll be having a graduation party at Alibi on Sunday.....drink specials till 11, and all that other jazz. Hopefully I'll get to make like Odi and act like a drunk fool behind the decks
