sup tech; Slikks is having his party soon at his crib for graduation..lets meet over there. uh-oh....(dragnet music overdub); The Story you are about to hear is true - the names have been changed to protect the insolent... dum dee dum dum - Duhm dee duhm duhm daaaaaa "On saturday may 11 , a riotous incident occured at The Zone in Cedar Grove NJ when an unknown crazy italian man arriving in a sleek yellow pantera wearing what seamed to be a white tuxedo shirt and black trousers and black Nike slip on sneak-slippers forced his way into the club with a large group of angry italian men led by another going by the name of Mr. Slicks....Mayhem broke out as perpetrator number 1 continued screaming "Where is that tooth pick sporting unibrow" as he circle kicked the entire bouncing staff into semi-conciousness - needless to say after a considerable tirade the man (obviously unable to locate said unibrow) was last seen exiting the club screaming something about "TECH POWER and CMB1975 YOU ARE FUCKIN NEXT" jumped into previously stated automobile and was last seen speeding down Bloomfield Ave towards JJ's Hot Dog Truck.....This is Sgt. To any promoters or patrons interested in the whats up with the club...In the next 4 weeks the club is opening, the start off schedule is Fridays - 11pm to 7am, Saturdays 11pm to 6am and Sundays 9pm to 3am Sundays is a Goth-Industrial night run by Damian from QXT so lets concentrate and please focus your attention on Fri and Sat. - To promoters: ARE YOU INTERESTED IN MAKING MONEY HERE ? - if you are heres what I have to offer, cut and dry - at this point I'm not offering exclusivity to any 1 promoter so if you'd like to take a crack on showing me how you can draw I'm all ears...the price to get in is 10 bucks before 2am and 12 bucks after 2am...promoters can call me and let me know that you want to bring your following THEN after calling me _ ill make up a master list of what promoters are coming down, it's then your responsibility to get the message about the night to your people and however you do this its on you - you want to create an invite go right ahead as I will furnish you with all the basic information - ie, schedule, directions, BYOB policy - everything (so on and so forth). promoters get 3 dollars a head for every person they bring BUT youll have to figure out how your people will identify themselves to me either by your invite or by mentioning "I am here for So and So's guest list". You arent responsable for anything else - you dont have to pay for a staff or rent a sound system or hire an act or DJ - your job is to bring your people. I will have my own invites if you dont want to create your own but if you want to use mine you'll have to mark the back so I know its you that is responsable for that persons admission. Youll make the same with my invite: 3 bucks a head, so bring me 100 people and make 300 bucks, bring me 200 and make 600 bucks, bring me 300 and make 900 bucks...I think you get the jist. Any un-identified admission goes to me as I am advertising myself so either make your invites specifically so that your people will bring them with admission if you want to get credit for an admission or just have your people mention 'Im here for Joe Schmo's guest list", it goes without saying you should make yourself available to sit at the promoter table at the door with your clicker to confirm your list but I can tell you right now that its my pleasure to pay you for bringing me buisness and it doesnt bother me 1 smidgeon to shell out this percentage to you guys. You just have to understand Ive heard alot of people (with the best intentions) say "Ill pack the place", well seeing is beleiving so heres the chance to do it. Also its not like Ill have 100 promoters hanging by the door - Im looking for no more than 5 per night and thats why I'd like you to call me before hand and mention youd like to bring some people down - if you have a dj that youd like to expose talk to me about that on the phone- Chris Lewis runs the show up in the dj booth here at 252 but if you bring a significant amount of people and you'd like a dj to do a guest set we can figure something out beforehand but your responsible for your guests compensation and right off the bat IF Chris Ok's it - the guest set is UP TO HIM as far as time alloted to play...on that end of things its better to discuss things beforehand as I said; Just mention it when you call...Thats about it...also starting next week I will be having someone else handle all promoters and taking inquirys, answering questions IE an assistant Mgr....etc, etc,etc for now you can call me at 973-743-6443 - Ill be contacting several of the promoters who responded initially to go over this new policy but any 1 reading this and is interested is welcome to call...the full Grand opening Announcement is a week away and will be posted here, thank you, Greg

The Meadowbrook used to be the JOINT back in 81, Fridays was new wave - sats was disco; Fridays Rooled...I saw Iggy Pop, Sylvain Sylvain , Kaja Goo Goo, David Johanssen and Robert Gordon - great fuckin artists...The DJ was Dennis who still plays at Aldo's...I allways thought they were gonna knock it down and build condos on that property? - anyway great memories Chris....

Wayne Gardner aka Strictly Rythym recording artist "Logic" - my partner since 1983, Unitas Lewis whois partners with Wayne and myself - i will be doing a future post about this amazing producer and dj who is unfortunately very ill with cancer right now.... I don't think he (or his management) is going to take into consideration the fact that you're not able to sell liquor and you're only going to make money off the door, so.. sorry, but Danny you'll have to settle for $12,000!" - Im well aware that he is 1 of the countrys hottest dj's - I can only explain my situation and make him the best offer I can, whether or not he would accept is on him.... every artist knows whats best for him or her. There ae allways situations where people make exceptions, stipulations..so on, so forth. God gave us mouths so we could communicate and i.e. negotiatiate, he could do a shorter set or just make a personal appearance...again its on the artist as to what gigs they'll accept under what conditions....Id love to have him play - IF HE WOULD LIKE to...if not, Im still going to open North Jerseys ONLY late night after hours spot, thanx - Greg
