  1. President Bush was at my club thursday night. Party with over 100 secret service agents, helicopters, fighter jets, state police, guest hostess condolezza rice and a special guest appearance by the bomb dogs. Top that with your $2 drinks, ladies free, cd release, upscale lounge, get on my guestlist, stick it up your ass, i dont give a shit who is spinning theme party, throw napkins like we did in 8th grade cafeteria, classics party every other week...... blah blah blah say the same damn thing every week promos. who is writing these promos??? minah birds or parrots? And by the way, who gives a fuck who does the door, and the vip cards arent very vip if your giving them out to the first 100 random fools dumb enough to show up at 9pm. If i wanted bottle service sitting on a couch i would stay the hell home.
  2. $10,000 and around $10 for a blank to cut on. You can get a few test pressings for under $50 at most commercial pressing places. So if you're gonna press 1,000 records and sell them for $20 each, then you will break even ,if the thing doesnt break before that. Plus you have to buy the cutting heads from vestax. This is a consumer product , not professional. If you dont have a studio to master on, its gonna sound like crap. You cant just bang out a track on acid or soundforge and press it to vinyl. Vinyl pressing is not like cd pressing. You cant just go from digital to analog without mastering. You can boost the treble on a cd all you want, on vinyl it will just distort. Don't even try pressing to vinyl without a compressor/limiter. This thing will be extinct in a year and you wont be able to buy blanks or cutting heads.
  3. You can go up to 16 or so minutes..but remember the longer the track, the thinner the grooves are. Thinner the grooves...the more you suffer on sound quality and output. Bass heavy tracks such as house and techno need wide grooves for optimum sound levels. Thats why an lp cut of a track always sounds lower than a 12" single of the same track.
  4. You can get an acetate one off press for around $50 but it will only last about 40-50 plays. Some places will do testpress run of 10 copys of vinyl for $300. 8 Minutes is the longest you want to go on one side for max sound quality........
  5. change on me was the summer anthem of its time.....and wow, i forgot about the breeze.......
  6. meadowbrook, dancin (palisades park), the hop (totowa),malibu, the nook, the lighthouse, jj rockers, 4d, octagon, studio 54, la cage, club 210, emerald city, 1018, streamers, ashleys & caseys(clifton), red parrot, phase 2, obsessions, argyles......... glen friscia, scott blackwell, Jellybean, todd terry, humpries, frankie fingers, danny boy marlin, jerry demaio, franco iemello, louie vega, animal diaz, roman ricardo.... then we all meet at the famous rays/white castle in verona
  7. mixed cd's from other djs???? How's the thursday going??? Oh wait, coogs is doing thurs now.........should be good. Superjay breaks your records, I break your bank, Tempkid breaks your teeth!
  8. This isnt for the mp3 leeches, but for the dj's...........anyone remember their first 12"? Bonus points if you remember the year.........
  9. Not that I am a hip-hop fan but hip-hop is mainstream now. Mtv and Radio play it non-stop, girls love it......Without girls at a club , its over. Like I said I am not a hip-hop fan, but its not 1998 anymore people.........its time to move on...........and hopefully dj's will also adjust if they wish to continue to work. House/Progressive will always be my favorite music but clubs cannot survive on the taste of a few, they have to cater to the mainstream crowd because that is what pays the bills. Clubs aren't in business to play "the newest house music"....they are in business to sell alcohol and will play whatever it takes to bring a crowd. Clubs that cannot adjust will be extinct. Also anyone bashing Soundgarden probably doesnt even know that Temps was owned by the owner of Chicago/Soundgarden for most of its existence. I think Dj Klutch is the only one who can read a crowd.
  10. The Dub Of Doom mix rules........
  11. what exactly are the lyrics in nightcrawlers??? this has been debated for years...........
  12. mcgreevy met his last wife in newark.............a portuguese girl who worked at a go go bar... too much sangria at iberia i bet........... hes a switch hitter
  13. teenage wastleland was a white label remix like 10 years ago. I think i bought it from rydell working at mondo.
  14. first is also Groove Coverage............ - God Is A Girl rocco mix and plastic men mix are the two i know
  15. new york radio and mtv play 80% hip-hop. girls like to hear stuff they know at clubs. guys go where the girls are no matter what the dj plays. dj klutch is one of the best, if not THE best to pull this off. Don't get me wrong, the old temps days were awesome years for music and denny rips it like no one else. I like house/tribal/hardcore more than anything else and wish it was still like that, but in this business you have to change to survive. So unless the other clubs at the shore change their format their days are numbered. You can have the hardest, new music expert, best mixer in the world djing and if no girls are in the club, no one will be there. just my opinion........
  16. Wasn't you guys, it was those friday night latin dj's. They used to blow up stuff weekly. My mistake.
