so i "post whore" and cp is STILL boring me!
£ddie replied to echostar's topic in New York / New Jersey
Not really a local board, but members here tend to be much more knowledgeable about music. Many DJs on this board. Global Underground. http://pub38.ezboard.com/bglobalunderground -
I take nothing away from JV. Not many DJs can say they've been on the Billboard charts once, much less the number of times he has. He's been one of the greatest producers around, and most people recognize he's extremely talented. I think Roxy would still pack the place if he spun the way he spins outside Roxy. I was looking forward to Roxy opening up because I had heard JV so many times at the Tunnel. I went there a few times earlier this year and was thoroughly disappointed. His style changed drastically. Even if that change is attributable to his "playing to the crowd," that doesn't mean old school Vicious heads don't have a right to feel jaded.

Yeah man, different strokes for different folks. I mean, I don't know how I could live without checking the Ricky Martin messageboards at least 6 times a day. http://pub25.ezboard.com/ftheressomethingaboutrickyfrm1 -

Audiogalaxy and the like RUINED much of the club scene!
£ddie replied to cesarleo's topic in Music & Media
To illustrate: Even though I have the majority of the tracks DT played last Friday, I'd rather go to Vinyl as opposed to sitting at home listening to mp3s. And just because I know and have heard many of those tracks takes nothing away from the fact that I thought he was great on Friday. I still enjoyed the music and the experience. So no, it's not ruining the club scene IMO. It's only a small minority of the clubbing scene that are Grade A Mp3 Whores (like myself ). The average clubgoer still knows about music a fraction of the amount you or I or anyone else who reads music messageboards and owns 3500 archived mp3s. MP3s aren't going anywhere. Deal with it. -

It's all over AG under various titles. If your email can't handle a file that size just hit me up on AIM, u know my screen name.
-
Are you getting the "file size" error? If that's it, just leave only a couple of files in your shared folder. Less likely to kick you off if that's the problem. If it's something else, I dunno.

Does Vinyl make money with no alcohol being sold

Danny Tegliano spun at my friend's bar mitzah. He makes about 150 bucks a night. And yes, he is a shitty DJ. -
No real time to go track hunting this week, but so far I like (in no particular order): Electric Tease - Feel the Funk (Saeed and Palash "Funked Up" Remix) Memnon - Locutus (Moshic Remix) Darko - Code of the Toad Leon C - Storm Marco Bellini - Dirty Jade - The Assassin Midnight Society featuring Alan T - Space Jam (Don't like the vocals in this one) Alicia Keys - A Women's Worth (Sound De Jour Remix)

I've got this midget phobia thing. I have nightmares about midgets. I couldn't even watch the Willy Wonka show at SF the night it was performed. I know it's not rational, but they freak me out, I don't know why they don't scare everyone!!!

Exit and Factory. I give Exit the edge. That place is massive. So many hiding spots there and overall it's just a "pretty" venue. Factory could use a bigger dance floor, but I like the fact that there are four different floors to chill out in. Roxy is what it is, a roller rink; I never liked the layout. And those stupid gambling tables look so out of place (are they even still there?). As far as Vinyl, I don't really like the venue itself. Limelight was pretty ill when it was around. I'll even go as far as to say that Webster Hall isn't a bad venue (yes I've had the misfortune of going there). That place is as BIG, if not bigger than Exit. If you want to talk about venues that are a cut above the rest, check out Space in Miami. That place is simply amazing. Guvernment in Toronto is also an awesome venue and has a slammin sound system (Phazon).

Sweet Jesus!! That's just scary!! -
Oh well, I just tried to log on, and it's forcing me to upgrade. There are free programs out there that will help you get the spyware removed. Upgrade and try that. It's not just that this program (Gator) tracks your usage, but it also consumes memory usage.
-
They added some mandatory advertising i.e., spyware. You are better off not upgrading unless you want that shit on your system. They are going to have some serious legal bills over the next few months, so this is probably a way to raise revenue. You don't have to install, my satellite works just fine.

That track was sick. He was perfect last night, just perfect. Roxy was better?!?!?! Heather! Have a few cups of coffee coffee before you go next time, sleepyhead.

So was he spinning the same old tired records: children 2002, crowd song, rapture etc.? Please tell me he played some new tracks. -
I'll add to this list: 11. Pete Moss feat Terra Deva - After 2 (Satoshi Tomiie mix) 12. Wicked Phunker - get higher (the doggy dark mix)

I'm gonna catch up on sleep tonight. Here's what's going on at Vinyl: http://bbs.clubplanet.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=100406

That sucks. I overslept so I couldn't make it last night to Groovejet, but I never had problems when I've gone there before. If the place is half empty, that's just fucked up to keep people waiting outside. LES needs a bigger venue. I'd rather hear them somewhere else. (Vinyl July 5th )

GrooveJet tonight, Vinyl tonight. Study for the Bar Exam alllllllllll weekend. :blown:
