  5. i was there both nights.... the music on opening night was great as was the vibe.... really rocking at least until 5am.... last saturday seemed a bit slow and the vibe was definitely not there, although it may have picked up later since most people show up around 4 or 5 and I left at 3.30....

  7. IMO the club looked great. Was there for the New Year's party and the place was a dump... looked really dirty, AC pipes dripping all over, trash all over the place. For black first they changed the layout of the stairs a little bit... I was a bit lost when I got in, I could not find a way to get to the coat check! They also had two dancers totally dressed in black (including a mask over their faces)... I thought they were statues until they moved!!!! Freaky. The walls have been painted black in general with lots of murals. There were also huge screen-type curtains over the main dance floor and the same graphics showing there were showing over the bars as well as on screens that were on the ceilings over the tables. Really nice leather couches in several areas, chandeliers in other areas. DJ booth totally enclosed in glass, SICK! they also added like a balcony area with sofas enclosed by curtains that overlooked the dance floor. The bars upstairs also had really nice little tables around them, kind of like an upscale little restaurant. Oh, they also had dancers at some of the bars....
  8. Yeah, I agree with you on that.... I was totally sober, I only had 1 drink all night long... and I love his music, but it is true that his following is very heavily into drugs. I also think the place got WAY, WAY too packed by 5am, no amount of security could have kept that place in check.... had there been a fire, there's no telling how many people would have died. It was impossible to walk in there. They should have closed the doors at 4am and the whole situation would have remained much more under control....
  9. I agree that it must have gotten really bad after 6am.... I was there till 5am and it was AWESOME. Great vibe, great music, the club looked fantastic. Even the dancers dressed in black (which looked like statues) were really cool. I did not see any problems while I was there. But then, towards 5am it got so ultra crowded that I left... people were starting to walk all over the sofas and tables.... it was way too packed. BTW, I saw a lot of people in jeans and t-shirts.... I was more dressed up so I got picked out of the line and brought into the club much faster.... I only paid $40. I am wondering what will happen now?
  10. I don't know what you guys are talking about. I was there from midnight till almost five and by the time I left the place was so packed one could barely walk. The club and the dancers looked ultra cool. AND the music was awesome.... I cannot comment after about 4:30am, because I was not there, and the music was really good towards 2ish, when the show was on... For sure the party started much, much earlier than usual, I guess since there were rumors that the cops would raid the place (which is why me and my friends went early...). Tickets were $40 and I stood in line for less than 10 minutes although the line was around the corner). I think security and organization were VERY tight in the beginning of the night. One of my friends actually go kicked out for no reason... I think it got out of control later when it got so packed it was just impossible to even stand anywhere, people were walking over the couches, etc. Way too crowded by around 5am....
  11. I don't know where you heard those reviews. I was there from midnight till almost five and by the time I left the place was so packed one could barely walk. The nightclub is one of the best looking I have ever seen after all the work that was done and the show was OUTSTANDING. Have not been to a better night in a long time.... JPs music was as good as ever. Definitely 5 stars. BTW, I organize and promote parties but not this one, so this is not a hyped up review, but my sincere opinion. I live in DC and will be coming there really often just for this party alone. I think next time you should check a place out yourself before commenting.
  12. I heard that the city is trying to shutdown Crobar altogether (they dont want clubs in that area??).... therefore management decided to shutdown the afterhours to avoid being shutdown altogether....
  13. I know some people were planning to go to NYC for this.... I just checked Crobar & Deep Dish websites and on both the date is now Feb. 20. Cedric Gervais will be playing at Crobar this weekend.
  14. So... what happened??? So much hype..... b4 JP needed no promotion, now we get all this stuff and then the party is a bust.
