  1. hey max, yeah, there was a line when i got there with maybe 20 people. i didn't seem to have too much of a problem getting in just b/c i was on a list. not b/c i'm super cool or anything but someone (robyn) was nice enough to put me on a list. the crowd seemed decent looking i guess. i guess there were a couple of attractive people there but then again, i've been living in a small town for the past year so at this point, i think anywhere i go in the city is packed w/ really attractive people (not that that might not be the case anyway). i'm kind of oblivious. some people had the too cool to talk to anyone look but people were still dancing and stuff though. the bouncer was curt w/ some people i guess but not as mean as some other places where they're an ass to you when they toss you from the line. if i hadn't gotten on the list would i have gotten in? i'd like to say i'm so cool that i would have but in all honesty i really don't know. hope i answered some of your questions.

  2. for the people who asked, here's what i thought of cielo and pacha even though danihawk will be mad i'm posting. i got in to cielo around 12 and didn't have a problem getting in on the comped guestlist, thanks robyn. the venue itself is pretty cool. it looks neat with long cushions lining the place and lights. the sound system was real good and the crowd seemed alright as well. the drinks were about the same price as anywhere else i guess. i left there around 3 and then headed to pacha. this was my friend dan's idea so settle danihawk. although the sound system was good and it looked a little cleaner than when it was soundfactory, freegin' no one was there. i guess the best way to describe it would be, it had a lot of potential, but when i got there, it seemed like everyone was heading out. i stayed till around 5:30 regardless b/c i payed my $30 damnit and it wasn't going to go to waste. regardless, i still had a pretty good time at both places and think they're worth checking out.

  3. hey everyone. i was wondering if cielo would be good this friday for david waxman. i've never seen david waxman but i've heard a few of his cds. what kind of music does he play live? also, do i need to be on a guestlist? im a guy and i'd go w/ one of my guy friends. will it be a problem to get in? i checked previous posts and didn't really get an answer. the reason i have to ask all these questions is i've been away for quite a bit and wanted to have a fun night out while i'm home for the holidays, so try not to hate on my thread too much, even though i know no one on clubplanet would ever be mean to someone else, hehe. any help is appreciated.

    thanks,

    mike

  4. My flight got cancelled christmas day and that night i was planning on going to crobar that night but now it looks like i'm heading down there monday so i'll be down there monday through thursday and i want to find something fun mon-wed nights. A friend of mine who used to work as a doorman at krave back in 2000 told me crobar and level(if its still called that) are probably still good and space was ok if you still wanted to hang out after everything closed, but he said the scene there is always changing and its probably changed since he's been there. I'm looking for good house music and i'm not too into trance. I like dj's like erick morillo and jonathan peters just to let you know what i'm looking for. A party scene or something a little more upscale is fine, just so long as there's good music and its a fun time and its not a total sausage-fest. So, with that said, what's good on mon, tues and wed. nights? Thanks

  6. lets get one thing straight. i'm not a promoter for any club, nor do i want to be. i just had a fun time. also, the guy when you came in looked like the characters in eyes wide shut. if you want to hear a complaint ok, the bartenders threw napkins a lot, some gay guy tried to hit on me, and the guy who kept holding up the stick was weird. hehe. i know that's weak but its the best i can do.

  7. i agree with you all the way. its the little things like the staff being professional and courteous that can really help make a night. i was surprised when i was asked to step forward politely instead of the usual bouncers screaming like apes and manhandling you. that place is pretty cool. the walkway from the one bar area to the main floor kind of reminds me of space mountain in disneyworld. and don't the decorations in the smaller room look like pool noodles? don't get me wrong, i'm not knocking it, i just thought it was funny. crobar rocks!

the music, the staff, the crowd, the hours, the physical appearance and sound system....there wasn't really much to complain about.

  8. as for not asking her if she was britney spears or not b/c you don't care that's fine. but to not ask her b/c she doesn't want to be bothered....F*** that. once your a celebrity, you've signed the privacy of your life away and you know that getting into it. screw her. and also, what's with the "she needs to have some fun". i'm sure her life is so damn stressful compared to a normal person. god forbid celebrities aren't having fun, i'm playing saddest song in the world on the smallest violin.

  9. as for the crowd, i walked 2 feet and i was in asia. i walked another 2 feet, i was in mexico. i walked 2 more feet and there's some juicehead that keeps looking at his muscles. i wanted to tell him, yeah buddy, they're muscles, they're not going anywhere. no matter how many times you check, they're still gonna be there. other than that the crowd was how it usually looks and the music was so-so.

  10. a little while after i got there i saw a stage show. to sum it up, there were some people with wierd masks on and then this conan the barbarian character comes out and starts fighting all of them. then he holds up a severed head that looks like medusa. kind of like in i think it was clash of the titans, correct me if i'm wrong. everyone cheers and then he starts making out with the severed head. somehow i feel that stageshow sums up how my experiences always are at soundfactory. there's lot of juiceballs and i wind up confused as to what's happening.

as for the other stageshows i saw, i must say very disturbing. there was a girl who hung weights from her vagina and shoved balls up her ass and then another show was a devil pours melted jello all over a girl and then pretends to bang her out. interesting.
