Blue -- For techno/house --- and low cover, smaller venue - try Sugar (santa monica) .... for a goth 18+ crowd and low cover -- try Club Bang (hollywood) ... Note though --- next week and this weekend, a lot of promoters are changing formats and sometimes djs to accomodate Halloween themes..... also, DJ Lee Dyson plays your format, he's very good and very cool ... check his site for his schedule and formats too (www.djleedyson.com)..... Also some djs are blending tribal house with r&b every few sets ... so sometimes hard to get pure house format (backrooom @ El Dorado in Brentwood .... great tribal house).... Hi mugwup --- Ok... here's the 4-1-1..... go to Strastevere ..... it's has sort of the soho/village feel of Rome. Wait, stop.... how funny is this! On my desk is my postcard from there still lol ... Ok. If this area is called Trastevere ..... on the main road, just as you start walking to the most famous church in that area called Basilica di Santa Maria in Trastevere is a cafe, indoor and outdoor, (inside had wood panelling, stairs several floors down to go the bathroom)... just get the pasta --- the pasta and sauce is ABSOULTELY incredible and decent price. Now, this cafe is right on the main street of Rome, about three blocks from the church. It's NOT the cafe in front of the church..... And oh, if you start walking ot the church and pass a music store, you'lll walked too far. Also, no joke, the Hard Rock Rome cafe upon the Via Vento --- if you get a graving for american food restaurant, it's the same price as here, maybe a bit cheaper ... hamburger, fries, and onion soup (well, yeah that's french) lol all veryyyy good and decent priced. Hi Weyes --- This premiere party is by a promoter that has about 2 premiere parties per week (I went to their Highlands party and Moomba party last week), so there will be more in the future weeks. These aren't red carpet parties. They are basically marketing promotional events for movies premiering. (This week they have two of them, Las Palmas and Orsini's) Their events generally have no cover and open bar with a beverage sponsor tie-in for an hour with some simple give-aways there (Moomba had lots of candy, Highlands had shirts for the girls). Moomba (on Saturday) had a screener of the movie on the wall's flat screen-tv, but the dj had the music so loud (awful) you couldn't hear the movie or TALK to anyone, and they had the lights so low you couldn't SEE anyone (we're talking almost pure darkness). Orsini's this week has cash bar, no cover, and free appetizers (which will be wonderful because it's Orsini's). FYI --- Tonight is Magic Johnson's premiere party at the Gate that LALate has listed. That event IS the official after party at the Gate following the premiere of the movie somewhere else. (But for a group meet up, that party would not be good.) Hope the info helps. Hey Stephen --- The majority of surfers tend to click towards the item placed highest on the page and closest to center. Less savy netgoers tend not to scroll down nor shift bars to the side to see other items. People tend to be drawn also to visual items, so if you got textual items to push, use an animated gif or something to get their interest. If you see traffic levitating towards the pic section, which is upward and center, and want to push traffic to another item, consider placing that other item higher on the page, using a pic to promote that item, shorting page size, or using a home page popup mini window with click through, channel bars and url line. Nothing is guaranteed, but overall, site visitors love site upgrades. FYI --- Saw your post on that other messageboard about this Sunday downstairs. Try A.D.: 836 1/2 n highland ave (north of melrose) There is an afterhours party we have listed that repeats every other week. What is good about this party is that you can go to "Facial" on Friday night @ AD (RSVP needed) and stay through Sat morning with afterhours also @ AD, just with a different promoter, and cover (need to RSVP to both!)
