lots of ass, wait till i burn you their live from oslo set..

You will love Crobar that night. Timo at Crobar can compare to none. And DV.

  2. Last night Crobar celebrated their 3rd year with us in South Beach.

For the most part of those three years, Crobar was the club in South Beach. From excellent guest DJs in a constant basis, to the neatest productions and great sound system, Crobar used to be more than just a destination for "clueless tourists" like some on this board have labeled them.

In terms of location, Crobar has the prime spot on the beach. In terms of sound, probably still one of the best two (Maze's is incredible, but you need a DJ to work it).

Last night Crobar reminded me why clubbing in Sobe had most of the world coming down here for many years. Neatest production, incredible laser show, characters in customs, staff smiling and energetic, and Dave Ralph just inspired by such an atmosphere. BTW, great beautiful crowd, in the main room. Like it used to be.

What should Crobar do to bring us back to those days of true house music? Is it the musical formatt, is it the need to reinvent a bit their set up, is it to get rid of one or two of their resident DJs, or put $$$ back into locking their Balance talent.

IMHO Crobar has it in their hands to turn their fate back into track. Last night, and Nick Warren's nite are only an example. Perhaps WMC will remind them that it is music what brings people into a club.

Add your thoughts. Crobar can still do it.

  3. Agree w/u on Ariel, Pod.

Unfortunately for him, last night was the night of Crobar. Simple as that. The place rocked, havn;t seen that many hot vibeful girls in a while there.

It was Crobar's 3rd Anniversary party, and it felt like the good old days of Crobar. Dave Ralph tore it 'til past 4:30, but what impressed me the most was the production they put together. And the laser show the best I've seen since Delta Heavy.

Props to the Crobar family, and Happy Anniversary.

oh, and how can i forget when he opened up for steve lawler last year @ crobar he was horrible. he train wrecked yet again. he is not impressive at all to me. i'm sure he is just friends with someone important that gets him these gigs just like cheesilini who makes me toss my cookies. now you take a dj like ariel baund or dj roland or dj stryke and oscar g even throw in george acosta. cedric just can't hang with these guys. oh, and that guy that was mixing in the smaller room @ maze last friday. cedric is a joke and i'd rather be caught dead then to hear any of his music ever again.

Oscar Fonseca is the DJ at Lime Bar. I saw him and was also impressed.

Last year RS rocked the house at opium. It was such a party!! Now, it was closing Wednesday of Conference, which had to do with the nostalgia of the "last party".

It is gonna be a tough one. Sasha and Digweed are playing that night at the new Space 34. Will probably make both, if not RS 2004!

    cheap tricks:peeleft:

I am astonished. that is going to cost him a lot of money.

But Eddie, why don't start a thread for this instead of hijacking Space's??

Space 34 is a club the whole industry is waiting for. Not just Miami. Have you seen their line-up???? It's sick. Plus they have most of the top DJs with residencies at Space. And by far the best Resident DJ in OG.

PS: GTC can print you 5000 flyers for about $150. That is $.02 profit per flyer, or $100 per $150 invested.

  8. Didn't he start at Opium on Thursdays? He wasn't good, he kinda matched beats, but most importantly, I believe his success was due to being "french".

The "french connection" did have a crowd that followed all the BS, that's when the $$$ came to South Beach mostly from Europe. He got a VIP following, which he can exploit now. That's why Niki's got him, that is why Crobar wants him.

His production tends to be something some people recognize, but those are rarely his followers. One nite at Bed he prepared the build up to drop his Lenny Remix, only to find his CD dirty and impossible to mix.

IMHO, he is a crowd pleaser first, even at Crobar on weekends. Not to mention for Dope, where he is only a crowd pleaser. His original poster for Dope read something like "The hottest DJ in the World". My ex-roommate had one he used to play darts with.

In any event, his duo with Bellini is profitable under all circumstances. We are now talking about $$$, not music.

Dope Thursdays nowadays have a ratio of 7.5 men per woman, if not higher. I guess he is not as hot, or Crobar has lost the chicks also on Thursdays. I visualize a difficult future for Dope now that Pure Lounge has opened.

That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it!

Agree with you. Still, there are people who like other genres, and OG is on the top of his own. Serious respect to Ariel, DHM, Roly, STRYKE, Chris and Mono, Markus, Cue, etc.

Partygirl2, it is only obvious that you have the freedom to choose where you party. If you don't like a particular DJ, go somewhere else. Anyway, WMC is around the corner. You could save some $$$ for then.

I believe they are no longer there. Anyway, they were the party in the second floor, and Mario Silva and Eddy promote the main floor.

Word I heard this weekend is that Cheeselini will be soon a resident there on Fridays, FUNKTION ONE ROOM!!! That is what Maze really needs.

    BTW, good luck Eddy.
