Following on from last month’s successful re-launch party, Deeper Substance returns again to its new spiritual home, bringing the very best house music to the table. This month, Demi welcomes Primal Records; one of the finest house record labels based in San Francisco and most venerated house music vinyl outlets and featuring very special guests on the night

    PARKS & WILSON – (TILT)

As two thirds of Tilt, the Parks and Wilson duo produced some of the most popular progressive house tracks of the 90’s and paved the way that dominated the sound for the dancefloors. Tracks like “Rendez-vous†and “The Seduction of Orpheusâ€moved the house genre into previously unchartered and darker territory and Tilt’s sound with its thumping tribal percussion and booming basslines blurred the line between trance and house. Joining the duo will be star residents

    DEMI

    ALEX SANSFORD

Due to a road accident in his hometown in San Francisco, Norman Areans will unfortunately not be joining us for this month's party. Our sincerest wishes go out to him making a speedy recovery.

ROOM 2 will be hosted by

DJ DARREN JAMES & ALTER EGOS

Along with his entire record collection out for one night only, this unique and multi-talented individual will aim to cover every genre that practically exists through that collection of his. Prepare for non-stop mayhem in his house of fun!!!!. Not to be missed I assure you.

    :)

    See you Friday

  2. first off, big big thanks to Jon and all the team at Nerve for bringing me out again and I had an absolute blast as ever...can never get tired of playing there and the feedback from you lot has been brilliant

I find now as time goes on in my sets that I just want to incorporate as much diversity in styles and genres which is why I prefer the longer sets as it gives me a lot more scope to do this

I think Jon played a good warm up set that served its purpose and didn't need to be anything spectacular and Jon's past speaks for itself with what he has achieved in Miami

Hope to be back again soon and was great catching up with the familiar faces again

  3. again my face is in shock by the incredible nice words and feedback from what was truly an incredible night at Nerve and the best night yet I have played there and that is down to the crowd as well as not just me but also Carlos whose warm up set was simply perfect..nice, chunky and got everybody grooving - the art of the warm-up dj is exactly that - nothing spectacular but just groovy

The Fashion show was indeed an unexpected interuptance (is that a word? hahah)

but to be honest I actually enjoyed playing some stuff that i would never really have an opportunity to play out and thankfully it all worked really well -

i think the experiences no in fact I know from the 3 times playing with the big chief DT at Arc it taught me so much about how to play, how to be in control - i matured and so much happened in NYC which has helped me enormously both as a DJ but as a person as well and I think what everybody heard that night at Nerve was a result of how NYC such an incredible profound effect on me....OK TOO MUCH DRAMA DEM...but i guess its the truth or as best as I can put it

again the support in MIami is fucking unreal and i just want to keep coming back and back and give you guys more good times it's that simple - spreading the word, the vibe there's no greater thrill I do it for the love of music

    peace

    :)

  7. Wow what an incredible night we had on Friday at Deeper Substance.

It was without the best Deeper Substance party to date with a total sell out and has been worth the blood and sweat put into what was such an important night for me personally with Yoshitoshi Records agreeing and giving me the go ahead to host the launch party for Luke and Desyn's new CD. With all the awesome coverage in the press and on Radio One that the night had received, I was hoping for a sell out on the night.

With a new improved monstrous soundsystem for the room, everything was set and the night ended up being as rammed as the first night we launched at 13 when James Zabiela played.

Last year on the 1st Birthday we had some free bottle of bubbly handed out just to get everybody who had arrived early in the party mood and this definitely seemd to go down well....especially with the girlies ;)

Alex once again warmed everything up with his vintage deep funk house sounds and he has developed so much in the space of two years and I hope he uses this as a platform to further his work as a DJ.

I was ecstatic with how I played and there is no better feeling when you feel that. Especially since I had had two shit shit days at work which put me in a downer playing again was just what I needed and was itching to get on the decks.

As for Luke and Desyn. These two talents done themselves justice with an awesome display of pure sleaze and funk tearing through the speakers.

Big props to the owners for lettign us stay open for an extra hour and half and to everybody that turned up. Apolgies to those who missed out on the promo goodies given away on the night - you should have arrived early!!!

Pictures will be up tomorrow and will post when I have upload. I also have pictures from the following night when I played at Cream in the Annexe which was unreal. Though the club is no where near a shadow of how good it used to be, The Annexe still has that magic and playing 3 hours there was an unreal thrill and myself, Louis Edwards and Jon Carter defintely showed the trance massive in the other rooms that we can pack a room out with good house music.....and met so many crazy scousers on the night...LLOOOOONATICS..... good seeing Mr Nolan again too....how much fun..sorry I didn't come to the afterparty bro it's a LONG LONG STORY.....Curse of Liverpool strikes again on the demster...

Next month's Deeper Substance party should be another blast with special guest Danny Moore from New Orleans who i cannot wait to hear and also VERY SPECIAL guest, Spundae and Liquified maestro KAZELL...along with live sax on the night as well provided by Vasha (this guy is unreal btw :), this should be another belter...

    hope you can join us

    :)
