  1. My friends and I need to get on guestlist at Guverment for NYE. We can actually dance too!
  2. Try Guverment Niteclub. 40$ advance tickets. food, champange at midnight etc.... I'll be there if anyone cares to see me party.lol
  3. "Good luck with my life!?" Actually I don't need any luck with my career since I am the one who is destined for stardom. I am writing a book that will be both text and fiction. It will be called "Discovering Music via Mind, Body and Video." You think that someone who has talent in performance and writing could put together a book with "luck!?" Do you even know how much "thinking" it takes to create a book that no-one has ever thought of writing? Or a concept that hasn't been thought of? I'll tell you this: There is a book out there right now that asks where the future of dance(in general) is going to be.(or go) my book will answer these questions and more..... Hearing from someone that I need luck is a joke!!! I have a dream, and with people like you out there I am destined to finish my book even more so. NOONE CAN STOP THE INEVIABLE!! re: IF YOU BUILD IT..... THEY WILL COME!
  4. I take great pride in the respect that I am given in a club when I preform. The clubbers here know what's up in the scene and having respect from them means a great deal since I come from a city that has alot of critics. Getting respect from other cities(Montreal) doesn't compare to the respect from Toronto since we have seen/heard music way before you guys hear of them. I mean would anybody from the city cared what people from the 'burbs thought about them? Does there 2cents really count? NO. I would understand if "another" artist said that I was full of B.S.... but for someone looking "in" and not "walking" in my shoes to say that I'm full of it really doesn't mean a thing to me. I'm sure Montreal IS a great city.... in your eyes johnnyb! Swallow your pride and reconize that I'm right and your wrong!
  5. where should I go in NYC to show you how Toronto throws down? I can party with the best of'em. Any type of "scene" will do.(espically the ones with dancers!) For some friendly competition ya know I recommend Hip-Hop, Rap, House, Rave etc. whatever!
  6. Who do you think creates this "atmosphere" at clubs? Drugs? or people? I have been to many "parties" that have NO decor, lighting or a decent soundsystem and have "created" the vibe in the party to last into the wee hours of the morning. People who seem to think that "dancers" are just blah, blah blah are probablly the ones sitting down
  7. Why is it that you guys insist on telling me to stay in T.O? I mean, who's the hater(s) now! Anyways I'm positive that you can learn something from me! (what could I possibly learn from you clubbers)? ps. My "little" province has 50% of Canada's total population. (Golden Horseshoe) It seems that you guys are the ones who should be "enlightened" on the fact that Montreal sn't that great of a city. Certainly not better than Toronto! lol Maybe 2nd but definately not #1 in Canada. Sometimes the truth hurts, just deal with it!! Toronto Rules and Montreal Drools. Please tell me "more" about YOUR LITTLE PROVINCE! Montreal is the ONLY city that has a nitelife out there. You can't go anywhere else in that province to have fun. (clubbing)
  8. Where u from buddy? Must not be from Toronto if u think Modjo is a rocking track at a club! lol I hope u discover something/anything in Montreal that makes Toronto seem mild. Matter of fact if u do, tell me because I didn't see much there (clubs). Oh yeah: People who drink (get drunk) should be in a bar, not in a club. ps. I already knew not to give a flying f$#*! about what people think, espically people who think they are better than the next person when really they just suck themselves (jealousy). I might be a hater because I'm definatly not a asskisser! Y'all better reconize Toronto is a leader (in the scene) and the others (provinces) just follow. Kinda like the Pied Pipper! lol lol
  9. Thax for the reconition Howard. I see that not everyone is like-minded as johnnyb overthere. ps. I just went to a "afterhours" yesterday that was open till 7am. (on a Tuesday!) They even served "canned beer" for 7$ all night (morning)! Although there was a 10$ cover; it was well worth it since this crowd seemed different. (in a good way) They were all 25 and up, wore mostly black clothing? and the music was mostly commercial underground. A friend of mine who "dances" brought me there after work. Mostly guys but 70% of the girls were strippers anyways.
  10. She's actually a Exotic Dancer from Toronto. lol And guess what! who do you think taught her how to dance? Me!! Anyways if your in t he area, check her out at the Brass Rail on Yonge. You can't miss her. (she has a large tat on her left shoulder with a great ass!). ps. There r 2 types of people: The Haters and the Ass Kissers!
  11. You are right about staying in T.O. I mean what am I thinking? That Montreal has something that Toronto doesn't? lol Besides, my girlfriend is French/Canadian (lingere, derierre, petit, brunette, THE KISS etc..) I think thats all I need to know. To think about it she is a little stuck up, guess its true about the french. ps. Every Dj that has played in Montreal first plays in T.O. If you are reconized in Toronto, you have "International" status. Meaning we have more (and better)" local talent" than you.
  12. Is there any other clubs besides Aria and Sona there? or clubs that have Hip-Hop nights? what days should I go and where to first? Since I don't speak any French, I would like to party with others like myself.
  13. How am I not making any sense to you? What do you think people who are in the industry (owners, promoters, bar staff, security etc.) want to see at a club every night? the same people or us (dancers)? I'm not saying that I'm better than you, it's just that I believe we should be the ones at the top of EVERY V.I.P guestlist. (espically if we are new there and are not getting paid). Even if I wasn't getting paid to preform, I would be dancing anyways. (depending if I liked the music). I am also suprised at your reaction towards dancing. Dancing is also considered an art and you, johnnyb coming from a city with such histroy of art (Montreal) should understand where dance and music is considered as one. All Dj's can agree on me that there is nothing more rewarding for them than a fan sweating to his music/mixing. This is there job and one remembers the great parties more than the not-so-great ones. Toronto has the most diverse community anywhere. All of our scenes have many ethnics too. Our prices are cheaper than most areas in N.A and no other city has more "local talent" that is considered "International" in other parts of the world. This included DJ's, Mc"s, artists etc... We used to have a club that opened at 9am on Mondays but you know what type of people hang out at those hours! It eventually got shut down because of a shooting that involved a patron and 2 dormen. But besides that, people usually party at Comfort Zone (9am Sunday-2am Monday) and then to N.V (11pm Sunday to 7am) Monday. These clubs play underground electronia from the lastest to the ol' school. 80% of the patrons "drop" stuff here. We have "afterhour" clubs that start on Thurs. every week that end at 6am. Some of these are "Live-To-Air" on our local radio station 1007.00 Fm 'Global Groove' Radio. Toronto is considered #2 in the Jungle scene with other genres right up there with the best of 'em. ie. Freestyle, Euro, Trance, Progressive, House, Techno etc. Hip-Hop is represented by both producers and Breakdancers. ie Baby Blue SoundCrew. Bag-O-Trix. This is a scene within a scene since promoters use the club(name) to throw there parties there. ie.Guverment has Hip-Hop and R&B and on Saturday Electronica. Our Exotic Clubs open on Sunday too. (only in Toronto) not in the G.T.A. Like Montreal, our girls come fully unclothed and "hands-on" as well for the V.I.P. So, please tell me the difference between Toronto and NewYork, or Montreal. The only difference would be either the weather, people (different races) and/or talent.
  14. I see the future of dance evolving into a sport (Olympic/International)with competitors/athletes /dj's and MC's "battling" it out aganist each other to music picked by themselves. ie. house vs. trance and/or the accompiant with a dj/mc. Thus creating a competition among three types of talent. 1. Dancer 2. DJ 3.MC. This sport could eventually be played with other players in a team setting that incorporates all aspects of the music being heard. ie. Dancer1 preforms to only the "vocal" part. Dancer2 preforms to the "bass" and Dancer3 can dance to the "highs/treble". Other dancers can be added to "follow" the live mc/dj's vocals and/or mixing/scratching. Imagine this as a "live human equalizer" being played to people to watch, listen, and learn dance moves to different "sounds" of the song being played. This would be the easiest way to learn because progress is made by incorporating dance moves from ALL of the insturments being heard. [vocals can be added whenever one wishes]. Imagine having a portable mp3 player with a LCD screen that lets you can download video files to play "actual dance videos" to your favourite songs. Watching, Listening, AND Learning to any music on the either the bus, in the car or on a mountain top! Just to celebrate your conquring of Mount Everst! lol
  15. Why don't you check out www.notjustanybody.com and see who gets more respect on the dancefloor. I DO consider myself a judge AND a critic since I can't understand people who pay for a 'big ticket' event, and/or buy drugs to enjoy themselves but end up standing and staring at other people. You must be 1 of these people since you don't understand where I come from. Why do you think that "go-go" dancers have a job for? I know that when I see someone "dancing" to music, I get a feeling of performing also, since 80% of the club are also watching the same thing too. Ever wonder why the site is called "NOT JUST ANYBODY"! You can't diss/hate on a artist that can dance/party better than you unless you can "battle" me, your opinions are just that. WORDS. And remember : Actions speak louder than words.
