i'm going to the conference again for my second time. last year was my first and we had a great time. we love and miss MIAMI!!! i'm a local dj here in LA and wanted to know if anyone knows of places out there during that time that an unknown like myself can play at. i guess this question is directed to promoters and anyone who may be in the know. i play house and would love to know of any parties that have "open mic" type of nights. if anyone is interested i'd be happy to send out my demo CD to give you an idea of my style and skills. thanks again!!! -c

He what's up everyone!? It's my first time here, but I've posted a couple times in the Miami board when I went back in March. So I'm a virgin to the LA board. I was wondering if there are any promoters or DJ's that I can contact to give my demo CD to?? I've been djing for a while and just looking for places to play. If you are a DJ or promoter and would like to give a local dj a chance let me know. You won't be disappointed. My main thing is straight up House Music. Since, the Chicago board seems dead, this seems to be the only one that is the most active. First of all thanks to all those that helped me out back in March for the WMC. It rocked! Well, I'm going to Chicago in a couple of weeks and I was wondering if by any chance someone on this board can tell me some good House Clubs to check out. Hello all. I'm new to the Chicago board and need some help from all you friendly people. My friends and I are going to visit in the first week of October, and we need some help on clubs, bars and such. We LOVE House music, so that is what we are looking for. We're not really into the BIG MEGA clubs, more of the intimate type clubs. I've been to Crobar and Space in Miami, and that to us is MEGA CLUB. So we're trying to stay away from that. We just want to hear some good funky House Music. But of course where there is also nice looking ladies. And some of my friends are into the Salsa clubs, so any recommendations on that would be great. And last but not least some good pre-party bars would be cool. Thanks again!

ok...this is my friends and i first time going. we're from LA. so we're counting the hours now! we can't wait. a few last things....what are the dress codes for the night parties???? obviously the poolside parties are self explanatory, but we're wondering what kind of gear to wear at night. this is what we're not sure about yet. thanks and see everyone there! -c

ok...this year is going to be my first time going. and from what people have been telling me about the parties is that tickets are not required. at least for a lot of the clubs. but i noticed on groovetickets.com that quiet a few parties are selling tickets. for example....the X-MIX party with todd terry, armand van helden is selling tickets and the party with mark farina, marques wyatt and king britt is also selling tickets as well. so my question is....if we don't buy tickets for those parties now...does that mean we may be out of luck the night of the event??? most people have been telling me to just show up early and getting in shouldn't be a problem. so i'm kinda wondering if i should by tickets for the stuff i want to go to. what do the experienced people who have been there think??? i'd like to hear from those who know more about this. i know what you mean about OC. but there are good places in LA. you gotta check out the WAX party every other saturday with doc martin and special guests. fridays is MORE at ghaba in hollywood tony watson and friends. does your mama know...straight up house music with tony largo and guests on sat nights from 3am-9am(after-hours). DEEP with marques wyatt and guests every sunday...and more and more. the best thing to do is check out one of the record shops on melrose in hollywood and they'll guide you. they have tons of flyers too. the best place to go to is WAX on melrose. hope this helps

QUESTIONS ON THE CONFERENCE. What are the dress codes like for all the parties at night?? I know for the pool parties it's pool gear. But let's say, for Opium Garden, Space, Nikki Beach, Crobar etc...... Finally, let's say at the last minute my friend and I want to go to the conference. Is there a way to get cheaper badges for this??? Let's say someone who can't go or whatever. Are there places people sell their badges if they can't make it??
