How far is X-it from south miami? is there a dress code?

I am from Boston and moving to Miami in August to attend the University of Miami. I was looking to live in an area that is near the university or near a bus or train line that goes to the university. I was hoping to also find an area with some nightlife but not too expensive. Can anyone recommend a cool area? Also, any info about how much I should excpect to pay for a one bedroom would be good. Thanks

Okay, so I know I'm just about the last person on the planet to make it out west but I'm heading to San Diego Feb 13-18 and I was hoping I could get some ideas of cool places to go from you guys. I'm looking for nightspots that will be playing good music as well as anything you think is worth seeing and, no, Seaworld is not on my list of things to do. I'm also contemplating a move there in a couple months so your general opinions on the area would be really great as well. I would go on the LA board but I sort of wanted East Coast specific opinions. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

Therepy is totally fun but the last time I went there, they were serving only Red Bull and Water. It will be a really cool place to see Bad Boy Bill. I'm psyched!! Woo Hoo

Zoom sounds cool! Do people dance, or does everyone just chill out with martinis? I've learned the hard way that dancing with a martini glass is a very messy ordeal.

too bad about pink, RI needs more places that aren't for yuppies or frat guys. Zoom sounds like a pretty chill place. Do you ever play at that place on dyke st? I think its called therepy. It's open late but it is pretty chill and super loud.
