  1. Anyone know how much Sasha is going to be on the Clubplanet guestlist this Friday? Any other guest lists out there that have vip access by chance? Thanks -Peter
  2. Sorry, but is this list for US clubs only? Why would Stereo be on there? -Peter
  3. The only time you'll hear UK hard house played in NYC is if someone comes here to play it. Otherwise, there are no nights devoted just to that sound (same with hard trance since its pretty much the same stuff). That being said, there are alot of good semi-underground clubs in the city that cater to a more progressive sound. Sullivan room is small but has a great vibe. -Peter
  4. what about super-stylish furry phat pants and a tank top? Or is that a little too out there. btw, is there a guestlist I can get on. Thanks, -Peter
  5. Boa in TO is the best club in North America right now. -Peter
  6. Saw C&C last night at Boa in Toronto and they destroyed the place. Unreal! These guys are relentless from the first track. -Peter
  7. I don't think they need a reason.. the scene here sucks. -Peter
  8. haha... can't blame him really. -Peter
  9. Behrouz was incredibly off his game last night... this a man I've personally seen over 20 times and never once has he played a sub-excellent set. I was very dissapointed. His set reminded alot of older Deep Dish or Sander K (always caught in the middle and never reaching a destination). -Peter
  10. Most likely done with with. GK crashed and burned in NY and I don't think we'll be seeing them return. The fact that GK can't get a good night going in this city is a testament to the state of NY clubbing (even if they did try to work with Exit). -Peter
  11. If you thought he was just ok, then you didn't hear the real Remy. I've never heard a Remy review where he didn't tear the crowd a new hole. -Peter
  12. I stopped going to see Oakenfold by choice back in 99. Every time since then I've gone because the friends of mine going haven't seen him live before and want me to come along. I can still get into his sets and enjoy some of the classics he tends to put on, but technically, I think he's pitiful. Maybe I'm a hard critic, but I've been around the scene for a little while and I've heard alot of great dj's... Oakie isn't one of them. -Peter
  13. I've seen him in: Toronto Montreal New York San Francisco Los Angeles London Ibiza Detroit and he was awful and mostly overpriced every time I saw him. The whole over-charging thing really started around late 2000. I saw him quite a few times between 96 and 99 it didn't cost me my first born child. Again, 2 hour sets every time. -Peter
  14. Paul Oakenfold doesn't like to spin live because he's not very good at it... This is from the word of mouth of a dj that has toured with him. You will never in your lifetime see him spin more than 2 hours. -Peter
  15. Take out the word 'usually' and you've nailed it. For as long as I've been clubbing and in all the cities in the world, including all my global clubbing friends, we can collectively see that we've never seen him play longer than 2 hours. -Peter
  16. I stood inline for about 10 - 15 minutes and when I found out it was $50 my friend and I got the fuck out of dodge. The people waiting inline to get in seemed like they had no clue who was spinning and you could just tell they carried a weak vibe with them. -Peter
  17. Beating out Detroit!! Now thats impressive. -Peter
  18. 4 years? The first time I went to Stereo was after they had been open for a few weeks and that was back in 98... so I think they've been around for 6 years. Or I could be mistaken!? That being said, Stereo is a great club and much better than anything NY has to offer. Check out Aria too if you get a chance... I think its better. And if you like Stereo, a better bet is to check out Boa in Toronto. There's not a club in North America that can match that vibe at the moment, and the sound quality is Stereo-esque. -Peter
  19. 514 productions throws a party every new years called Celebration thats definitely worth checking out. The lineups is usually stacked. As for clubs, Aria and Stereo are both awesome... much better than anything NY has to offer these days. -Peter
  20. He used to spin at Arc from time to time... not so sure about recently though. I do agree... he is a sick ass dj. -Peter
  21. Thanks Silver. Do you guys expect it to be rammed? or comfortable? I need my room to dance or I get really depressed. Especially when Lee is working the decks. -Peter
  22. I've never been to cielo but I'm thinkin tonight should be the night. Its been a while since seeing Burridge and he always kills it. Are they strict on things like dress code? -Peter
  23. Map props on Centro-thursday. That was a great party!! -Peter
  24. It depends on the clubs you go to regarding safety. Most of the clubs are safe to get in, and then you wont see a bouncer inside. As a result, some of these places have a real anything goes philosophy (eg. Camden Palace)... just think Tunnel (circa 96) but worse in some instances. That being said, going alone is very safe, but plan to stay late because getting home might be a pain... the tube closes before 1am and restarts around 6 - 7 on sundays. Also, since your by yourself and a girl, your best bet is probably Fabric or Heaven (if their Thursday bedrock party is going on). Turnmills is pretty safe too and my favorite place was probably the fridge (only on certain nights). 'Scoring' at any of those places is ridiculously easy too. Its too bad your stay is so short... The London club scene is out of this world and then some... NY (past/present/future) could never even come close to comparing. -Peter
