  4. Saturday, Sept. 17th at Abbasso Plate Tectonics Presents TechMix featuring: Punisher (Seismic Records, Detroit) Jamie Tyler (Plate Tectonics, Cleveland) + More TBA. We've been wanting to bring Michelle "Punisher" Herrmann in for quite a while, and after hearing her set at Fuse-In (Detroits Electronic Music Festival) we decided we had to make it happen. While inspired by Swedish and German Techno, Punisher maintains connected to the Detroit style. She's shown herself to be an incredibly talented producer, through her own label, Seismic Records; as well as DJ headlining alongside other talented DJ's throughout the world such as Richie Hawtin, Mistress Barbara, Ben Simms, and Marco Carola. Michelle will be gracing Cleveland with a live PA/DJ hybrid performance. Expect a night of innovative techno, from minimal to stomping, and possibly even some drum and bass thrown in for good measure (she played some live at Fuse:in). This show will be in the $5 range 21+ 10pm onward Abbasso 1222 Prospect Cleveland,Ohio 216.566.7278 http://www.platetectonics.org http://www.seismicdetroit.com http://www.abbassolounge.com
  5. Thanks all....that is a good helpful start. We'll have to make some decisions a little closer to the date. Def. anticipatign the trip more now.
  6. Advance I know.....but anyone know of anything going on or being planned for the Friday or Saturday of April 1st and 2nd. We'll be in town then and I was just curious. Techno/Techouse, would be preferable.
  7. That's be swell. It's an idea we tossed around actually so who knows. Been hearing nothing but good things about Stadius. I think Cleveland can handle this show----if not, oh wells----everyone else from out of town will.
  8. GOOD NEWS! Now FREE before 11:00 and $5 after. (See, awesome shows can be made affordable)
  9. Saturday, October 9 JAY TRIPWIRE, A.K.A. MR. BARCODE (Northern Lights, Gourmet / Los Angeles) @ Wish Nightclub 621 Johnson Court Cleveland, Ohio 44115 (Just off of West 6th in the Warehouse District) 216-902-WISH with Damon Havill and Jamie Tyler and more guest(s) T.B.A. [This will be a very affordable show, probably in the range of $5] I believe this is his first Ohio appearance. ARTIST BIO: Jay Tripwire has definitely earned his place among the dance music community and his hard work is not going unrecognized, Jay’s Djing schedule has exploded, and he has had the opportunity to play in some of the places that were once just a dream. Growing up in the heart of downtown Vancouver, Canada, Jay is no stranger to the grit of urban parties. His great sense of musical curiosity and his sly mischievous character, has lead him to his present life as a DJ/Producer. Currently, Jay is very busy producing in the studio, signing 1 or 2 releases a month, and has had the opportunity to do a lot of remixes. His music has been picked up by some of the most respected labels and thus, Jay has appeared on charts and top 10's from the most well regarded names in the industry. Recently, Jay's music has been getting numerous reviews in, and attention from, such magazines as DJ MAG, MUZIK, URB, IDJ, MIXER, XLR8R and VICE and has been licensed to many mix cd compilations. Jay Tripwire continues his aim to expose listeners to quality music through DJ’ing and producing. He is presently building and molding his own brainchild, the label “NORTHERN LIGHTS,†which is the headquarters for the sound he knows best. Jay’s latest endeavors include a very hectic dj schedule and the start of a new label called SPACED OUT. *****FYI For out-of-towners--make arrangements a.s.a.p, most downtown hotels are within walking or cab distance of W. 6th. ****
  10. My boyfriend was just out there not too long ago. I'll ask and try to get back to you. I know he went into a record shop, told him what records represented what he liked and got referred to an awesome underground club (I think that was in Munich though) There seems to be something most any day going on there (esp. fantastic techno!)
  11. Ah...less than 2 weeks away. If you're into techno and techouse try not to miss this. Damon Havill and Jamie Tyler will be laying down opening sets as well, so expect a little minimal glitchiness in addition to the tec and house vibes.
  12. Plate Tectonics presents Local Motion @ Wish Nightclub Friday, July 30th 2004 lineup: Jamie Tyler Funk Detective Andy James Boompsie This is will be super cheap (Like maybe a few bucks) We just want to throw a party with some good minimal, glitchy, house and even bumping techno so you can get out and DANCE. Once you arrive, head upstairs to the newly remodeled top floor, you'll find the grooves there. Wish is located at 621 Johnson Court Just off of W. 6th in the Warehouse District Cleveland e-mail plate_tec@yahoo.com to join or mailing list or for more information.
  13. Dennis Rogers will be at Wish nightclub on Friday August 6th. He's a really good techhouse Dj who used to play at Arc in NYC with the 112 crew. I love the cowbell track he produced, if you've heard of it. E-mail plate_tec@yahoo.com if you want more details. It's only $5 too. John Howard should be a great night too. If you like house this as well as Dennis should give you your fill for the weekend. Wish nightclub is just off of W. 6th street on Johnson Court. (It's down a little alley) Good restaurants--depending on what you like. Check out Waterstreet Grille for cheap, yet really good food. (it's one street over @ 1265 W. 9th street) Fridays they have $5 Sangria and Mojito pitchers for just $5, and martinis for $5 from 4-7 during happy hour too. Sushi rock is on W. 6th if you're into good sushi (it's the real deal, though not too cheap) XO, also on W. 6th has really good food too--but it is EXPENSIVE. Bottoms up has cheap bar food too that's tasty. (Southwest wrap--yum) If you can get out of downtown check out lava lounge or farenheit in tremont or flying fig in ohio city.
