  1. Well, lets see. About a 2 hour line if you got there after 1am.......I didnt go in till like 4:30am when the line actually started to get smaller, so I cant comment on PVD. But Ferry was ehhh in my opinion, he started off but slowly progressed into some good tunes, wish I couldve stayed, but the place was sworming with undercovers who followed me the whole fkn time I was there. When I even tried to go to the bathroom, a shit load of them would try to block the entrance way and i just kept gettin bumped and touched by a shitload of people, like they were tryin to pat me down inconspicuously. I wasnt selling or doing anything, but it just got to a point where I couldnt take the shit , or the harassment anymore and I just left. I even got followed out of the club by people who were in there. 2 people I was there also got the same type of treatment. Shit, Miami PD is really out to get people! Kinda worried about how Ultra's going to be like today. Probably fkn worse.

  2. Oh theres no fkn way im missing this shit....I'm having shoulder surgery on 2/16/05, I should be good enough to fkn go out there party.......Anyone need a way to go wouldnt mind driving down there? Ive done it the last 3 years. Yes it's a bitch to do......but you save $$$ in airfare bigtime....more $$$ to actually spend out there. If anyone interested, PM me or hit me up with this screen name on AOL.

  3. Ultra 5 was better than last years Ultra. So far, I'm a little disappointed with this year's line-up. Cox is usually on a side stage. Where's Oakey and Tiesto? I'm happy with Van Dyk who never misses an Ultra. Van Buuren at Ultra is going to be interesting. Hope he plays an uplifting, progressive trance set, not the tech-trance crap he's been playing on his tour. Eitherway, Ultra is Ultra, an event that's going to be off the hook regardless. Just watch out for the undercovers, last year, they were all the people standing in the aisles, not moving and basically just getting in the way of people trying to walk. Not a bad way to try to look at everyone's eyes. :comit:

  4. i guess we did not miss anything ... sorry for those that did not enjoy this .. but i heard Remy before .. and i thought he was ok .. we logged into DI website and heard avb him live and i thouhgt he was ok but sooo repetitive .. since i never heard him before i cant tell if he was in his game or not ..

    peace

Trust me dude, he wasnt on his game at all. Try to get the entire Armin Live at Amnesia in Ibiza set from Aug.04. The Universal Religion CD they put out is like the first 12 tracks from that set. Mad mellow. But I heard the entire set on ETS Global (by the way, ETS-Global.com is always playing Armin sets) and I was like damn, why couldnt they record like hour 2-4 from this set. It progressed into some real upbeat, hard, vocal, energetic trance. It got hard, but not in the techy way he got last night. If it wasnt for "No One On Earth", and that track with a female vocal that says something like this " And you finnnnddddd yourrrsellffff. Anddd you finddd yourselfff in meeeee" (Forgot the name of that track) I wouldnt have even thought that it was actually Armin that was spinning. I've seen Armin enough times and in a couple clubs to be able say, that it couldve just been any other DJ up there last night.

  5. Again, I'd like to reiterate, ARMIN sucked last night. I'm a huge Armin fan, but I think he just didnt know what he wanted to spin last night. I think he was confused on whether to go more hard beats or trancy. He probably got the feeling that the crowd was more into the harder beats because Armin really just plays to what the crowd is feeling. But I think the crowd was sending him mix reactions to shit. He shouldve just stayed with his usual vocal, progressive trancy style. That's what made him famous, and that's why we all love his music. Thats why we all went there last night. Oh yea, new sound system? Is just me, or when he turned up the bass really high, the sound got really muffled and it just didnt sound clear. A couple time when he turned it up, it just sounded like shit.

  6. I'm not going to get much into it, I'll let everyone else speak their minds because I just got back and I feel like shit.

I dont think Armin was on his game tonight. I saw him at Crobar, Roxy, and Mansion in miami for last yrs WMC, and this was his worst set. The set had his moments, he had people jumping and DJ worshipping, but honestly, I expected so much more from tonight. I dont think Armin was able to gauge the crowd well. He normallly plays a lot more vocal shit that he did tonight. It was like he tried, but then he did throw on some hard beats, I'll give that to him. But it wasnt that overtime uplifting set. Where he usually builds up slow and then moves along harder, deeper, more trancy. This set didint have none of that.

Plus, I know this is nothing new about clubs in the city, but there were tooooo many undercovers in there on people's asses as soon as they seen them mess with glowsticks. It was even worse at like 5:30am. That shit doesnt bother most people, but it kinda ruins the night for me because I just feel like I'm being watched the whole fkn time, and it was fkn annoying. Being followed like if I was selling or purchasing. LEAVE ME THE FUCK ALONE, I WASNT BUYING NOR SELLING, AND LET ME FKN PARTY PLEASEEEEE!

Energy was cool, but I saw better energy in the crowd at Crobar and Roxy.

It probably wont be most people's opinions, but it's mine. Still was a fun night though. Met some cool people by the smoking section.

What do the rest of you guys think?

  7. I actually bought a ton of stuff for the Salvation Army.. It was really fun buying toys though since I don't have any children to buy toys for..Armin's at Fur rather often so we'll have to make it two days of Armin next time!

Awww, your the New Yorker of the week. Back in the day with my old school, we used to go to the Salvation Army around Christamas to give the kids gifts and stuff. I'd dress up as Santa which I dont why cuz Im not fat at all. But thats cool and much respect. Cheers :pint:

  8. If I'm not too tired from the night before I am deff. driving down.. the more the merrier!

Shit, I'll drive. I've done the ride to DC plenty of times, it's kinda become like a drive around the block for me. The only thing is I got a civic, so you know there's only so many people than can be thrown up in there. I'm dead serious tho, let me know. An Armin weekend would be fkn insane!!!!!

    :pint:

  9. He really is nice and down to earth though.. I was chatting with him in DC.. you people don't know what you are talking about if you think he's a snot or he thinks he's God because that's totally not the case.. Here's a photo of us.. you weren't allowed cameras in Fur, but I had my camera phone and grabbed him at the end.. Yay.. I don't think he's God, but I am a little crazy about him!

This is to back up Jennifera's point. AVB is really down to earth. When he played Roxy and chilled out at Virgin Mega Store in times square during the day, he was supposed to sign autographs in the store. For some dumb reason, they didnt let him, and instead of leaving, he went outside the store, stood in front of what used to be CODEBAR, and signed autographs for about 20 mins. He didnt leave until he took all the pictures and signed all the autographs people wanted. He was THE COOLEST DJ I've ever met and grant it, he's the most famous DJ Ive ever met as well, but for his popularity, he was humble as a mother fker. I asked him a couple questions and he was more than happy to chit chat with me.

    AVB IS THE MAN!

Yo Jen, you have room in your car for one more head to go down to DC to see him at FUR, I got you on the gas! All my friends are bumbs and dont want to go.

  10. Yea bro, Ive heard you a couple times and you definately spin some dope beats. But one question, if you were to classify your sound, what type of DJ would you say you were? And I know you have to keep your beats fresh and maybe maybe change your sound a lil from time to time, what genre of music would you say you like the best (house, trance, progressive, etc....)? Yea, one more question, what DJ's out there right now you feel had the most influence on you and how you spin?

Sorry for all the questions dude, but you are good and have some serious talent and along with many other people, I wish you the best of luck kid!

  11. I went to Shadow Lounge back in the days, Oscar killed every weekend, and then I would go to the Mix, an afterhours club on the Beach.David Padilla was the resident there and he was the motherfucking man!!!George is no longer loved down here, people dont like him and when he was spinning at Club Spi the place was completly empty. In Miami its all about going to the trendy clubs.Only a few clubs keep it real and bring in talent, like Nerve, Privillege and Space..Trance is dead down here. Markus is the man and I listen to his show every weekend..But I doubt Trance will ever be back, like it was in the late 90's.

You just even said it right there, everything is Trendy, not about the love of music. I could understand if you tell me a place, other than space (not including sunrise sessions on the patio) where there's a house club with a good vibe and not a bunch of people who are there just to look good and be seen. Im sorry, that's not about the love of music. And Im sorry, trance doesnt have a following? 9 times out of 10, people who listen to trance is because they are true fans of that shit, because they love that shit. Every year at Ultra, who's always playing the last set, PVD. Who usually plays before him, Ultra 5, underworld, Ultra 6, Chemical Brothers, Tiesto Oakenfold, Junkie XL.......If house was thattttt big and about the love of music, then maybe they would have morillo or morales playin the mainstage and not a tent in the back. Even you just said it, Markus is the man, I definately agree with you on that. But even Markus Schultz, what does he spin? TRANCE!

  12. Babe I hate to burst your bubble, but I live in Miami.Party 93.1 is the cheesiest radio station on Earth. They play Motorcycle 12 times an hour. Its little teen bop dance music.Global DJ Broadcast is the shit.Markus is a great DJ and I appreciate everything that he has done for EDM in Miami. In Miami all of the major nighclubs in South Beach only play house music.I love all EDM, Breaks, Trance, D&B, and funked out dirty house, especially prog house!!Trance is easier to listen to, house has more soul and the majority of people dont understand it.

Dude, Im from New York, and I would fkn kill for a station like 93.1 out here, all we got is fkn ktu which is cheesy as shit, and half the fucking time, they're playing fkn disco 70's music. 93.1 issss pretty cheesy during the day, but I'd rather listen to motorcycle 12 times a day rather than fkn than mid 70' music. AND YOU GOT GLOBAL DJBROADCAST WHICH IS THE GREATEST WEEKLY RADIO SHOW IVE EVER HEARD, WE HAVE JUNIORVERSE WITH JUNIOR VASQUEZ WHO'S OLD AND WASHED UP? And most clubs in miami play may house music, but you do have your clubs that play trance, you may just not frequent them, dont forget where George Acosta came from. Not for nothing, I bet you more people listen to trance in Miami, than there are people who go to house clubs because they actually love house to the point that they listen to it in their cars or at their house. House clubs in Miami, crobar for starters, are all trendy, chic clubs where all it's about is who you are, how you look, and how much money you make yourself seem like you have, NOT CAUSE THEY LOVE HOUSE. With the exception of Space, the vibe in every house club in Miami SUCKS ASS, and Space gets like that too. Look at the fkn people who hang out on the roof for sunrise sessions. It's a miracle if you find someone up there who didint have plastic surgery at some point in their life. People who go to trance clubs, love trance for the music, not the look.

  13. trance isnt dead, if anything, it's making a more of a comeback, shit, when you hear a good percentage of songs at night on ktu that are trance songs with vocals, how is it dying. If it's becoming more mainstream, I say hey, why not......GlobalDJBroadcast in Miami is the shit. Party 93.1 is a station devoted to fkn dance music and they play tonssss of trance......trust me, trance isnt dying....new york just has never really been the best arena for trance....but go to florida and basically every place in the world and you tell me if trance is dying
