not a fan of this song either....i think its getting played by Tong though because Louie Vega gave it his blessing....
-
Pete tong played it on this week's essential selection - its the very last song on the mix. Dibiza really is a masterpiece....i get chills when i hear it...bring the drums back!
-
hahahah...
i saw villalobos last year at cocoon...miss kittin + the hacker in the main room - def one of the most unique club nights i've experienced....crowd was freakish, music was minimal techno...it was pretty refreshing actually as opposed to the Cream, Armada, foam party nonsense that usually goes on at Amnesia....
-
had a great time...danced my ass off from 12 - 8am. miss 9 opened w/a nice proggy buildup set. DD came on around 1:30 (forget who started, ali or sharam). not the most amazing set, but very solid, especially after 5-6 am.
some tracks i remember-
madonna - hung up
chab - closer to me
spin spin sugar
witch doctor (dammit its been a while since i heard this)
billie jean
dreams (the DD mix of stevie nicks)
i thought i heard Dibiza, but i could be wrong...sharam was dropping some nasty tribal around 7 am...with hints of Elements...
i hated their mix of "Party all the time" though - they played it a few times...yes, the Eddie Murphy song...voted by VH1 as one of the most awesomely bad songs of all time...haha
crowd was ok...usual crobar mix of wildlife....after 4-5 there was plenty of room to dance...fun night overall

I can't even begin to tell you how many House Heads have seen Ferry during his residency at Crobar. They all had nuttin but good things to say about him. He is a great personality in the scene. Always in a good mood when he spins and never looks all depressed like some other DJs
thehype, i couldnt agree w/you more. i'd say 75% of the clubs/events i go to now are house/tech/tribal as opposed to trance...but i would go to see Ferry any day of the week...he brings an energy with him that few can match...and he plays every set as if it were his last...long live Ferry!!!

Speaking of getting robbed, I wanna see who is willing to pay 10K to hear Cox on NYE.
-
cox absolutely killed it last night...got there around 10:30 when it opened...opening dj was really good (was that loco dice?)...when cox came on around 12, the place was jumping...it was never too crowded throughout the night, there was always room to dance and i thought the crowd was very good for a change....p diddy made his cameo somewhere in the middle of the night, getting on stage w/cox....i'm glad he didnt try to get on the mike...cox was workin it w/his nasty blend of hard techno and tribal..my ears are still ringing cause i was dumb and spent the night in front of a speaker, lol...highlight of my night was hearing "are you a freak" - only other time i've heard that is from deep dish in ibiza....that had crobar going bananas....i'm still in awe at what cox did to crobar last night..proving once again why he's one of the best goddamn dj's in the world, bar none. i left around 6, when it started turning into Evolve...my body could take no more...good seeing alan and digitalextacy....Cox needs to get a residency here!!!! i give last night a 10/10

i'd like to see sandy rivera, martin solveig, & satoshi...
-
if i had the $$, i'd be happy to blow the $200+ for bottle service...unfortunately i dont so i'll be joining the masses on the floor...better get there early, its gonna be plain ugly after 1 or so...

Oaky is not as bad as a few years back. The last couple of times I have seen him has been lots of fun. Yes he still plays short sets, but they are nontheless pretty jammed pack with great tracks.
i disagree. i saw him on the mainstage at ultra ny (on my way to the bathrooms), and he was playing the same set as he was in 2001. the perfecto crew apparently hasnt even changed the visuals...oakie is a tired act....
-
thats a pretty horrible story....i've read some interviews w/her and knew she was weird as hell, but not just a total ungrateful bitch....i've only seen her once, earlier this summer at amnesia in ibiza doing live PA with the Hacker....i've gotta admit it was a great, unique set but she didnt seem into the crowd at all.....
-
i'll be spending most of my time in the Be Yourself tent...looking forward to Morillo and Timo's sets as well...
-
had a good time at crobar for morales...got there around 2...when i came in he was playing "love generation"...was crowded, but not too bad like crobar can get...there was space to move around...the crowd was mixed, didnt see too many crackheads (then again, it was early..)...
morales was def. into his set, at his peak playing How would you Feel? getting the crowd really into it...good mix of tribal and diva house....heard some vocal songs that i wish i knew the names of....around 5 he played Brainbug - Nightmare...havent heard that in a club in a while...left around 5:30...this was a completely different set than the set i heard him spin at def mix at pacha in july...that set was much harder...def impressed w/morales though, loved his mixing and track selection...
-

-
good shit....i saw behrouz open pacha in ibiza for deep dish a few weeks ago....he was amazing....this should be a good night
-
little early for that, eh? nevertheless, sounds like a good party...DT & halloween...never disappoints....
-
i'll be there...can't wait! anyone organize a meetup yet?

Well after asking many people that have gone already, I have heard mixed reviews of the two and decided to go with my gut instinct of madrid. I will be at Ibiza from 9/1 till 9/5. I will be staying at Pacha Hotel for two nights and couldn't get the other two nights because they are booked completely. Can anyone recommend another hotel? I liked the look of what Pacha had to offer from their hotel. Very trendy setting. Thanks. See you guys there.
damn staying at Pacha hotel? how much is that gonna set you back? that looks like a vegas-style hotel..i def wanna try that in the future but only when i'm makin a bit more $$...
as far as my own experience, i loved Jet apts at playa d'en bossa...3 star hotel, right on the beach, balcony, fridge, and A/C...right next to bora bora and space...and it was pretty cheap, we had 5 people and paid $340/person for 8 nights......got fresh towels and maid service every day...my only complaint is that the water is salty and gross, but i think thats everywhere in ibiza b/c its the balearic region...
The Palms Hotel

i'm staying at the palms with my gf for memorial day...haven't stayed there before, but it def looks nice. its a bit north (30th and collins) of the craziness that will be going down lower on sobe...but the pool and quality of rooms should make up for the location.
