  10. Ok.... So here is the 411 This month we have 2 special guests coming to Orange First up on Aug 17th we welcome Noah Pred There will be a very special opening set on Tuesday from local techno twiddler.. Paul Dailey (Rise, Boston) OPEN BAR FROM 10pm - 11pm -- You must RSVP to info@headtunes.com to avail of the open bar Hailing from Canada's lush West Coast, Noah Pred emerged from Vancouver's underground as a sought-after techno DJ with a sophisticated sound and unique style. Producing dance music and performing live for over seven years, he recently completed a three-year residency in Montreal’s burgeoning electronic music scene. Devoted to authentic and soulful strains of techno in all its permutations, Noah's sound continues to evolve while remaining firmly driven by the dancefloor. Since his first records came out in the late nineties, his releases have received international support, appearing on charts from renowned talent such as Carl Cox, Cari Lekebusch, Laurent Garnier, and Pascal F.E.O.S. His subsequent 12-inch EPs and remixes have continued to garner critical acclaim while moving dancefloors across the globe and appearing on playlists from Tokyo to Glasgow. As a DJ and live act, Noah Pred has performed throughout Europe and North America, and has held residencies at some of the hottest clubs in Montreal. His keen ear for new sounds has led to a key A&R position at Canadian tech-house label, Consigned Recordings. Recently motivated by global affairs, Noah applied his A&R skills by spearheading the Pacific Technics project, a triple-vinyl pro-peace compilation benefiting Amnesty International; the Pacific Technics CD, selected and mixed by Noah Pred, was released in June 2004. 11. Sorry, I just read on a couple of message boards that someone had posted a bunch of reviews saying that it was pathetic etc etc... This just happened to be where I responded :-)
  12. Last tuesday was off the hook, like a jacket that fell off a hook. It was really slow.. What can I say. Hopefully people will come out and try it again. Whats funny is that I see a bunch of reviews this week saying how bad it was that there was no one there. There was a horrible turn out this week for Melee which was pretty embarrising for me. Thanks for rubbing it in! There are some changes in the works for the night to try to make it more interesting for people and to boost numbers. Any how the next two weeks should be steller... This week we have Noah Pred from Canada and next week we have Dennis Rogers from NYC Get your drink on!
  13. I get emails saying that there is a PM here and then when I log in there is none!!!

  18. FOR OPEN BAR (10pm - 11pm) RSVP to jdavis@headtunes.com Orange Tuesdays & Headtunes Recordings presents Grant Dell alongside Orange resident John Davis.Tuesday June 29th 2004 Orange 161 Brighton Ave Allston MA 10PM-2AM Grant Dell Biography Championing his unique blend of deep, intelligent, funky house, Grant Dell is a DJ who deserves to be heard. As an experienced artist, Grant's taste in music steers him away from the obvious track's -- he has the ability to pick up the gem's that other DJ's would miss and create productions that take us to the next level of house. Spanning a hectic 10 years, Grant's DJing career has taken him across the globe as far as Australia, New Zealand, Thailand and Kuala Lumpar, as well as closer to home in France, Italy, turkey, United States and Croatia. In 2001, Grant burst into the production world, building his own studio and enjoying success as part of the production duo "Tribalation" with three Eps on Loaded. EP 1 exploded in the USA and was licensed to Strictly Rhythm. The tribalation sound, which emcompasses long heavy basslines, mesmerizing vocals and heavy hypnotic percussive workouts, was coined by top DJs across the board as "the sound of 2002". Since then Grant's career has motored into high gear, with Ep 3 just released on Loaded, and forthcoming Tribalation releases on Big Chief and Tango. Grant also produces with Bob DeRosa as Uhuru Beats and has forthcoming solo productions on labels such as Big Chief, Plastic City, Swag, Visitor, Detour and our very own Headtunes Recordings The son of a jazz musician has become the son of a gun of British tech-house. Grant's passion for music was really set on fire when the punk and new wave scene rocked the UK in the 70s. In the early eighties, as the punk era was drawing to a close, the laid back beats of reggae and dub lured him into the world of dance music Grant started Djing professionally back in 1990 at a house and garage night in Reading called Scruples.. From his stomping ground in South London, Grant developed his style of deep house mixed with tech-house and tribal sounds. He worked his magic throughout London's network of underground parties such as Whoop Whoop, , Liberation and his own parties, Wildlife, which soon gained a huge dedicated following of underground dance music lovers, and earned him respect from his peers. This led to a guest spots at Heart & Soul & Wiggle, which are the only true underground events that continue today, spinning along side jock's such as Evil Eddie Richards and terry francis. Grant soon got the taste for radio with his own show on ENERGY 87.9 FM ( the longest running pirate radio show to date) on Thursday evening's, sponsored by Swag Records. He has also played on Radio 1, Gaia Live, Groovetech and Kiss FM Melbourne. In 1996 an invitation to take up residency at one of Sydney, Australia's top clubs, Delicious, set Grant on a global tech-house tour, and he was one of the first DJs to introduce the tech house sound of underground London to New Zealand and Australia. During his two-year stay in Sydney, Grant pioneered the infusion of London's unique tech-house sound down under with the introduction of some of the UK's top names including Mr. C, Terry Francis and Colin Dale. 2001 brought Grant back to London with regular spots at some of London's best underground events from Whoop Whoop, Kerfuffle wiggle, the end and Lunar to the Save The Rhino events in the UK and overseas. Keeping on the pulse of underground dance music, Grant can also be found at South London's infamous specialist dance music shop, SWAG. Grant Dell plays at Orange on June 29th 2004 along side Orange Resident and head honcho of Headtunes Recordings John Davis, this night promises to be a stormer!! Bring Cameras and an appetite for Dancing!
