JaGoFF, Treologic, Abstract Giants & Psalm One
@ Metro / Fri, June 24th / 10:30 Late Show / 18 & Over
MOBFest welcomes the Chicago Underground Hip Hop Showcase. Chicago's music tradition has long been legend among the worlds of blues, gospel, jazz, soul & house and in the last year has quickly emerged as the nation's hot bed of the hip hop world. As the sole Hip Hop showcase for this year's music conference, the Chicago Underground Hip Hop Showcase features the best that Chicago has to offer… they are what’s next. The Chicago Underground Hip Hop Showcase takes place at Chicago's premier music venue, Metro.
Live performances by:
JaGoFF
--------------------
This DIY Chicago/Detroit hybrid is making waves, cited as "the successor to George Clinton ... the missing link between funk and hip-hop" by Boskson Mag (France) & featured in Charles Feelgood's "Top 5 Picks" in URB's "Next 100 Issue" 4/04. JaGoFF has toured with the Van's Warped Tour for the last two years and were a featured act at Detroit's MC2: Motor City Music Conference 2005 @ Cobo Hall. Expect big things.
Treologic
--------------------
In an industry dominated by negative messages and materialistic attitudes, Treologic emerges as a beacon to hip-hop and one of the most exciting live acts to come out of Chicago in several years. Treologic was recently the recipient of the $35,000 Grand Prize in DiscMaker's 2005 Midwest Independent Music World Series. Treologic will be hosting their CD Release Party and is giving away FREE CDs to the first 200 people to purchase their tickets online.

Abstract Giants
--------------------
"...just know that the act goes leagues beyond the same old funk-sample
hip-hop, blending in pieces and parts of rock, various world musics and even a
kind of free-form acid jazz that's awash with creativity."
----Dave Chamberlain, New City Music Magazine Dec. 2004
Psalm One
--------------------
"...in every respect, the real deal. Clever wordplay, smooth flow, riveting storytelling - she has it all. After recently re-releaseing her debut full-length Bio:Chemistry [birthwrite], look for The Death of Frequent Flyer, her debut on Rhymesayers, later this year." URB Magazine "Next 100," April 2005. Psalm One will be touring with the Vans Warped Tour throughout the summer of 2005.
