  1. I read about Crobar and it sounds like a cool place, but some of this club's reviews make it sound hard to get in. Just how hard is it to get in?? Any suggestions when getting into clubs??

In my opinion its not hard to get in on most nites, there may be a few exceptions when a big time DJ is playing-but this should not be a problem if you get there early (11ish).

  2. Mr. silverbull...I Have always backed you up on allot of things you have said and posted...But this is to Much Bro...I Love House, House Pays my bills, But I Guess Trance is a little to much for your narrowed mind...There's allot more to trance than you can dream of, Tiesto and PVD R Just the front Page of a very big book.... I Am Not hear to preach nor diss you...but keep these kind of shit to yourself bro cause you don’t know how stupid you look.

Amen to that! That was probably one of the most stupid and arrogant posting yet. I cant understand why Trance is so hated by some, is it cause its the most popular EDM in the world and they are frustrated?! Please tell me why there is so much hate!

  3. no such thing...

i like the direction pvd has been heading though... he's been getting harder and harder every year... last nye he spun this remix of "out of the blue" it might've been the hardest track i've ever heard... ehh im digressing... sounds like a good night..

For trance fans there is such a thing...He still spun great though, and I still had an awesome time, but I have heard better from him.

  4. I think Ferry had his ups and downs at different points of the night. A lot of the time, actually MOST of the time, the crowd was standing there being very dead (including myself). But when he played a good track, everyone got into it real quick. Rock your body was definately one of those times.

Its amazing how people can have such different perceptions...I thought the crowd was really into it, especially after 3 AM. Many people knew the tracks he was playing, and to me just about everyone was having a blast.

  5. did not like it/his show last time i enjoyed much more/way to much techno and very little vocals/armin was so much better/enjoyed serge much more/oh well at least we didnt have to pay/maybe as the residency grows he will get back to playing classic trance, one can only hope/next fri dj rap as headliner, gonna be great....here openers are real tight/ also if you have not heard them yet check them out, you will be suprised.....sat after thanksgiving tiesto for over 21/just maybe it will be tolerable...peace

I didnt think he played too much techno, he definitely played some great trance tunes, Armin to me played much more techno. Overall I thought he was great, definitely had a blast.

  6. Hey,

Just wondering...all you Trance heads out there....which Trance DJ do we need to see in NY that have not made a NY aperance yet????

    Any thoughts?

Not sure if these guys have played here or not, but I hear them on DI.FM sometimes and they are pretty good:

    -DJ Irish

    -DJ Kuffdam

  7. yea but I can care less about the world. I care about the USA.

Like I said If u like trance Go to Europe, you will find no haters there.

House is # 1 in the greatest country in the world.

So God Bless the USA, and of course House Music

Let trance stay overseas where it belongs, along with you.

    :finger::finger::finger::finger::finger::finger:

Are you trying to be funny? Just shut up and keep your idiotic thoughts to yourself, typical ignoramous.

  8. Whoa butt whip, did u not see that I said Armin is a great DJ, just not in my eyes. I can have an opinion, and my opinion is that trance is crap. I dont care who is spinnin it. So shut ur face, dont get mad at someones opinion. Move to Europe and youll hear all the trance you want. There is a reason Corbar has House DJ's 9 times out 10, because Amercian people like House better, than your faced paced, melodies instead of beats crap. The only way to dance to that crap is to hop up and down, like all the trance listeners do. please take a dance lesson or 2 you trance listeners, your hard to look at when your doin your Trance Bounce making a fool of yourself. And I will bet that Armin will get no where near as many people as Boris, Roger Sanchez, Deep Dish, or even Ralph Falcon for that matter. So please just listen to your crap trance any SHUT UP!!!!! But I will say it again. Armin Van Buren is a great DJ. I just hate trance!!!!

Cmon man, Trance isnt as unpopular as you think, House maybe more popular in NY but Trance still has a large following. Ferry Corsten is a resident DJ at Crobar now for gods sake. In the last year or two there has been a huge increase in Trance DJs coming to NY, just look at all the posts on this board, they may not be as noticed as House posts are, but they are nontheless a significant number. You can usually find one Trance DJ a week these days at one of the clubs. Plus dude, you are completely ripping people who like Trance, how can that be respectful of other people tastes?! ("please take a dance lesson or 2 you trance listeners, your hard to look at when your doin your Trance Bounce making a fool of yourself"). Man, thats why this board can suck at times, everyones a goddam hater!

  9. Honestly go fuck yourself. If you don't like trance, then don't buy trance cd's or go to trance events. Armin always packs a club when he comes to New York and I want him to continue coming to NY and he will as long as clubs continue to be packed when great trance dj's like Armin come to NY.

Just because you don't like a particular type of music doesn't mean that the rest of New York has to cater to what you like.

Agreed, I am sick of these haters on this board! House isnt my thing, doesnt mean I'll diss that genre of music though. Seriously, get a life.

  10. Just saw this few days ago.

Serge Devant and Filo and Peri at Avalon on friday night

And its 10 bucks advance tickets from wanttickets.com

def much better than spending like 45 - 50 at crobar.

I seen Serge Devant play at crobar several times and he was off the hook.

I never saw Filo and Peri play in NYC before but if their sets are as good as their productions this should def be one sick night

    Anyone else going?

    www.myspace.com/sergedevant

    www.myspace.com/filoandperi

I'm in, should be a fun nite, Serge is off the hook and have heard good things about Filo and Peri, plus at $10 seems like a much better deal the Colderone at Crobar.
