  1. Thursday - Future Sound of Breaks (DownTowm Miami) Hydraulix Icey Monk Freq Nasty Simply Jeff Eric Morillo Fixx (you get the point Friday - I/O Lounge - Electro, IDM, Drum and Bass, Hip Hop (with Kool Keith) Saturday - Control Skate Park (Downtown) had an amazing electro party.. AUX88 (from Detroit) Larry McCormick (Exzact) Alpha 606 Ectomorph
  2. You should have gone to FSofB. Eric Morillo played on the roof-top, there was a big crowd, and you would have been able to get in... ....and maybe a free cd from him (like me)
  3. Just a hint for those promoters out there; the WMC is not all about House & Trance. As I was on my way to a DRUM AND BASS party, two different promoters approached me to tell me that there was only house & hip hop on Washington Ave. One even followed me up to the club door and said loudly and matter-of-factly, "There's no drum and bass on South Beach right? What kind of music do you have?" The person at the door stood up and said that this WAS the place for D&B. It was so funny to watch Mr. SlickMan slink away like an idiot. Yes there is other (and better) music at the Conference besides Paul Oakenfold. Next year, if eveyone has learned their lesson about Space and Nikki Beach, maybe they will go to some of the better parties? Did anyone go to the Future Sound of Breaks? See the Hydraulix set?
  4. The List was kind of weak last year until right before the conference. Plus some the best parties I went to weren't listed.
  5. It depends on where you are. Some of the clubs are done around 5, some events go until 7. I think space is open almost all hours (but you couldn't pay me to listen to some trance or house when there is breakbeat and drum & Bass at WMC)...
  6. Has anyone seen any info anywhere? So far for D&B I have only found the VIRUS party (I don't think I can deal with all of that clownstep - But Andy C will be there) There is also a day D&B poolside party at the Shelborne...
  7. Tell me tell me tell me who's there!?!?! I missed Breaksdays last year. I had to split my time between breaks and D&B shows (which was great last year). I can't wait for the Conference....
  8. What a beautiful list. I cannot wait to see Jackal & Hyde. Now if I can find the D&B parties all will be good
  9. If you are looking for something to do tonight, Quarters Nightclub in RiverWest is on its 2nd night of a new weekly event. Good music...Inexpensive drinks! HomeBrew Wednesday Nights @ Quarters Nightclub 02/02/05 Buddy Kain (MKE, Drano Boys) - Drum and Bass (...and its good D& Aphrodisiac (MKE, AudioTribe) - Drum and Bass AA7 (MKE, AudioTribe) - Hip Hop $1 Tap Beer - $1 Rail Shots 21+ to Enter, NO COVER 900 East Center Milwaukee, Wisconsin 414-263-4140
  10. I am from the US (Miami), but would take London any day. I went to school out there is 1994 and never wanted to come back (the best I can do is try to get out there every year). I think I am coming from a slightly different music perspective, but drum and bass are great out there (even though I think many of the UK dj's tend to have better sets in the US - could just be that its a different atmosphere)...
  11. Hi Phunknjunk - Did you go to the Metalheadz party last year? Just asking 'cause I saw the slipmat you are using as your avatar... I went to go in, but heard the clownstep from outside...
  12. The best parts of the 2004 conference were: (Monday night) The upstairs room at the World of Drum and Bass (an too think I wasn't even going to go to this party. (Tuesday night) Tremors (I love Dylan & Tech Itch) (Wednesday night) The Renegade Hardware album release I can't wait to see who is coming for 05'
  13. I think you guys are heading to all the Space parties. Have you ventured to some of the breakbeat and drum and bass nights? Personally, these are the reason I go to the conference. Yes there are drugs there (as with anything at a weeklong party, but you won't hear any tribal house (or trance there). Thank God! I can't day I know much about steroids (and I am a girl, so maybe this is from a different perspective), but I feel much less of the "gang rape" vibration that is prevalent at some of the bigger venues. I can actually dance, and there aren't 7 guys trying to act as though its natural to rug their d*ck on a stranger. D&B parties are a little less plastic (although it surprises me every year how many more, and the different types, of people that show up). On another note: I can't wait to see Dylan again!!
  14. Good advice, but don't only go off of the WMC list. It also depends on what type of music you are there to see. If you are there for trance, house, mainstream, most of your nights should be listed. If you are there for Drum and Bass or breakbeat, there will many unlisted parties. Check any local websites, or label websites. Also check records stores (some in Broward country have led me to some good parties). If you listen to drum and bass, the WMC list usually shows the World of Drum and Bass and maybe 1 - 2 more parties (there are usually almost a full week of d&b parties. Many of the best nights I have been to weren't listed on websites, but were located on either Washington or Collins (usually somewhere north of 5th). Good luck!
  15. Have we forgotten about all the great drum and bass nights that came through Big Wig? Too bad you have all house/trance crap that night, it would have been nice to come out there one last time...
