Because of the limited capacity of the venue and the fact that you will likely never see the likes of John '00' Fleming again in such an intimate venue, we are selling 300 pre-sale tickets at $10 each. These tickets are the only way to guarantee your entry to Mass-Transit5 and can be purchased via pay pal to flint@comitigate.com. Send $10 per person you are buying tickets for and make sure to include first and last names for all attendees. Print a copy of your receipt as proof and the names of those who purchased presale tickets will be kept at the door.

  2. 1) What do you have in store for us at Mass-Transit3?

An energetic blend of progressive and tough and techy trance. Lots of new and unreleased tunes and probably a few favs from past years.

    2) When / where was the last place you played on the east coast?

Its been a while... Last time I played in DC was a couple of years back at a club called “Cloud 9â€.

    3) With all of the recent press surrounding your latest releases (revention, slidestream / drivetrain mechanics), what's next for NB?

My next 12†release on Propulsion is “Archetype†with a special remix by Chris Cowie. Following that is an original track by Chris, “Reeva,†which I remixed. I also have forthcoming releases/remixes on Five AM, Source of Gravity, Gravitation and Inkfish’s Acting Out label. In addition to my own releases I have a number of wicked tunes by other artists ready for release on Propulsion for the rest of 2004 and 2005.

    4) Who has been the biggest influence on your style and passion for EDM?

All the producers whose tracks I have played over the years are my greatest source of inspiration. Of particular mention is Chris Cowie who wrote most of the Hook & Bellboy Recordings releases under a slew of different aliases. His sound was something I identified with right from the beginning. A decade later he’s still pumping out special release after special release. I also have a lot of respect for Christopher Lawrence who has always championed the underground trance sound.

  5. TEN QUESTIONS WITH NICHOLAS BENNISON

    by Loco Rites

While 2004 sees the release of 'Absorb' and 'Airjack' on Duty Free's Intensive label, 'Fueled' on Acting Out Records, 'Soloplex' on Gravitation and 'Caverns' on Looq Records, Nicholas also continues to run his own label, Propulsion Records. 'Revention', 'Archetype' and 'Slidestream' are just three more Nicholas Bennison productions scheduled for release on Propulsion this year. Xpander is sure you're getting a better Bennison impression by now, so enough of the introductions and on with our 10 Questions!

    DJ/producer name: Nicholas Bennison

    Real name: Nicholas Bennison

    Age: NA

From: Los Angeles, USA (Born and raised in the UK)

    Style: Tech-Trance and Progressive

1 What do you always wish you'd get asked, but rarely do?

It's always nice when people take a genuine interest, no matter what the question.

2 Which one track or song best describes your personality/life?

Descent and Nicholas Bennison 'Revention' (Nicholas Bennison remix) Propulsion Records.

3 What's the craziest moment you've ever experienced as a DJ during your set?

Being engulfed in a haze of pepper spray one night was quite an experience. DJing in the shadow of huge snow-covered mountains at an outdoors event in Alaska was also pretty crazy, especially as it was still light at 3am!

4 What/where is your favourite club to spin/hang out currently and why?

Q00l in SF is a lot of fun. You wouldn't expect people to be going for it on a Wednesday night, but check this place out.

5 What's the best lesson you've learnt in the music business?

    Network, network, network.

6 What are your predictions for the future art of DJing/production?

More digital variations of the traditional turntable and mixer set-up that are practical for DJs and visually interesting to the audiences. There have been advances in the quality of music production over the years and originality in terms of sounds and arrangement, but the underlying format of dance music is still there. I don't expect any drastic changes in the immediate future.

7 Does your family understand what you do for a living?

My parents don't quite grasp the whole concept, but they are 100% supportive.

8 If you had to change your profession what would you like to be?

Probably a web designer/graphic artist. I can spend hours messing about with Flash, Dreamweaver etc.

9 Do you think dance music in general is overrated?

I think a lot of tracks are overrated, but dance music in general, no. It can be a very special thing.

10 Can you summarise your general philosophy towards life?

I just try and be honest and upfront with people, work hard and put thought into everything I do.

GIVE Productions brings you Mass-Transit3! Moving onward from the success of Mass-Transit (SCOTT HENRY, SUNEEL, and JOEY MUNIZ), and Mass-Transit2 (CHARLES FEELGOOD, VIRTUE, BUSTER), Mass-Transit3 continues the monthly celebration of the top guest DJ from Wednesday Transit events, along with one of our very own Transit residents, and a special guest DJ.

At Mass-Transit3 we Give you NICHOLAS BENNISON - along with JOHN C and FLINT.

As the founder of Give Productions (The Studio | GIVE | ALIAS | COLD TURKEY | TRANSIT | MASS-TRANSIT), FLINT's love of electronic music dates back to 1981. Beginning in 1983, FLINT first produced original new-wave and techno tracks which have impacted his present day style. Having played numerous gigs throughout DC (Cubik, Gazuza, Atlantis, and other private events), FLINT expresses himself with his fun, melodic tracks, and climaxing transitions. FLINT will be starting off the night with his progressive sound.

John C has relentlessly worked his way to gaining recognition for his intelligent and unique blend of cutting edge Progressive. From his early gigs at numerous houseparties to more recent performances at Transit and other DC-area staples, John C is quickly making a mark onto the local scene. Whether its Tribal, Progressive House, Trance, or Psychadelic, John C's versatility extends beyond the tables. In the studio, John C has been continuously crafting his driving, progressive sound with a slew of original productions under his Recursive Records outfit. His latest track "Masada Sun" has gotten support from DJs spanning from LA to London. Currently, John C is resident DJ and promoter of "Release", a new weekly party dedicated to bringing the sounds of Progressive to the metro area. John C's set at Transit blew us away and made him the hands down winner as the guest DJ at Mass-Transit3.

NICHOLAS BENNISON's popularity rose through the mid to late ‘90s after performing powerful and technically brilliant sets at hundreds of events each year and mixing two of the US’ best selling Trance Global Nation CD’s. Aside from boasting impressive sales numbers, TGN2 garnered rave reviews in the national press and was named one of the Top Twenty CDs of 1999 by Mixer magazine. Based on the success of TGN2, Nicholas was invited back to mix the forth CD in the series, second time round having full control over the track selection. TGN4 was released during 2000; a tougher and intelligent album representative of Nicholas’ true underground sound. To support the CD‘s, Nicholas headlined the Trance Global Nation Tour (featuring Jerry Bonham, D:Fuse, & Doran) and visited cities throughout North & South America, Canada and Asia. Nicholas’ third officially licensed CD, Crystal Vol.2, was released through AM Recordings in 2001 as another testament to his unique and uncompromising style.

As a producer today, Nicholas has crafted a powerful sound and his tracks are played by Sasha, John Digweed, Paul Van Dyk, Seb Fontaine, Christopher Lawrence, John 00 Fleming, Nick Warren, and Max Graham. This year alone, Nicholas' tracks have been licensed to Ferry Corsten’s ‘Infinite Euphoria’ mix CD (Ministry of Sound), Marco V’s ‘Combi:Nations’ (Universal Music) and played regularly on BBC Radio One‘s Essential Mix (UK), Ministry Of Sound Radio (UK), Kiss FM (UK) and ID&T Radio (Holland). Nicholas also heads up his own Los Angeles based label, Propulsion Records, which has made a huge mark internationally with its unique sound. In addition to his regular output on Propulsion, Nicholas also has 12†releases on Duty Free’s Intensive label (UK), Acting Out Records (Sweden), Source of Gravity/Gravitation (UK), and Looq (USA).

Nicholas performs at major events such as Nocturnal Wonderland, Together As One, Destiny, Spundae, Giant, Ra, La Boom and many more through North America and beyond. At Mass-Transit3, Nicholas will throw down an exclusive 3 hour set not to be missed."

There are drink specials, games, pool, good food (til 1am), combo w/ cool atmosphere, dance floor, lighting, etc. :usa:
