  1. Come party with District Ignition as we INVADE THE MAINROOM @ Glow/Fur this Saturday. What You Need To Do (the short version): 1. To sign up for the guest list, email glowlist@districtignition.com with your name and the names of any of your friends that you would like to hook up with free entry NO LATER THAN 8PM ON SATURDAY. FIRST AND LAST NAMES PLEASE! We will accept "plusses" but bear in mind that all of these folks must show up with you at the door, otherwise, they'll have to stand in the long line, and they'll have to pay full price. 2. Show up no later than 11:30PM to ensure you'll have enough time to find parking and walk your happy ass to the short line so that we can get you in for free (21+) or reduced (18+) prior to midnight. 3. Do not wear shorts, flip flops, sports jerseys, hats, timberlands, etc. If you aren't in compliance with the dress code outlined below, odds are, you won't get in, and there is absolutely nothing we can do to help you. What You Need to Do (the longish version): First, when you indicate to the clipboard girl (her name is Kristin...say hi...) that you're on the District Ignition List, you'll get in for FREE (21+) or reduced (18+, $10 off for a total of $15) until MIDNIGHT. Kristin's a nice girl, but she is a bit of a guest list nazi, so make sure you're there on time if you want the full discount. After MIDNIGHT, you'll still get in for $5 off (taking it down to $15 for 21+, $20 for 18+), though, so not all is lost... Since we'll be working the lines outside, we'll be able to verify that you're on the list and hand you your free/reduced pass before you even get through security. So, even if you get in line a little on the late side and security is really slow, you won't get screwed at the door by making it to the ticket window at 12:05. Don't wanna wait in the line? Don't! The DI Guest List means you'll be able to skip straight to the "cuts" line that is always much, much shorter than the general admission line. One of us stunningly handsome DI guys will also be outside with a magical DI stamp. This stamp will allow you to get exclusive access to the District Ignition Lounge located above the Arena (Main Room) dance floor in an area that was once referred to as the "Non-Smoking Mezzanine". You can see and feel everything going on in the main room without the hassle of being bumped into and accosted by random pervs--a definite safety zone for anyone that has ever had their ass grabbed @ FUR. What's more there's a bar right there where you can almost always walk up and be immediately served. Please note, that if the turnout in the main room is on the light side, we won't be able to actually open the DI Lounge. We will push for it to be opened every week, but in cases when it's not, you'll be able to find a strong DI contingent at the bar immediately to the right of the DJ booth, underneath the mezzanine. You may find the following map somewhat helpful: For now, this list is separate and distinct from our normal DI list that you may have signed up for to go to SNATCH or FUSION, so the best way to to get access is to email glowlist@districtignition.com You should receive a confirmation email back within a few hours of your submission to the list. If you don't, please hit me up via AIM (ramseyja13) or PM me here... We have had a few instances with some email providers marking districtignition.com email as spam, so you might have gotten the confirmation back sitting in your junk box... Check there and ensure that we are on your safe recipients list to avoid this issue in the future... As ever, DI appreciates your support and patronage. THE VENUE FUR NIGHTCLUB 33 Patterson Avenue NE Washington, DC 20002 18+ // Casual Dress Code (no timberlands, no gangsta wear, no hats, no shorts, but sneakers and jeans and tee-shirts are OKAY)
  2. THIS JUST IN: THE DI LOUNGE WILL BE IN FULL EFFECT THIS SATURDAY! bank on it.
  3. Despite what you might think from the thread title, this is NOT actually a morning event... I just got a little carried away with teh pun of having a local up and coming DJ named "Breakfast" on the same bill as Ferry Corsten... You may throw tomatoes if you like, but I would like it to be known that I'm a fan of nice, vine ripened beefsteaks... Wanna go to GLOW to see your favorite international headliners but can't stand the typical FUR experience? Come party with District Ignition @ GLOW! First, when you indicate to the clipboard girl (her name is Kristin...say hi...) that you're on the District Ignition List, you'll get in for a reduced admission ($10 off or $15) until 11:30PM. 4. Snatch @ Home Ultrabar Get on our Guest List at: http://www.DistrictIgnition.com Guest List: The way to skip the line is to find the person in front with the clipboard. they have our guest list. Ask them for the "Snatch" guest list. She'll give you a ticket for admission and instead of standing in the line on the right (closest to the building) you can move to the much shorter line on the left. See you all this Friday!
  5. in other news, I decided, with Rob's help, to put together a little floor plan of the nightclub. We seem to be losing people in the fray on Saturday nights and want to be sure they know where to go to meet up with DI folks in the front room (before the main room opens) and in the main room itself. Every weekend we'll have 1 guy on the outside (usually me) doing guest list check offs and stamping. 1 or more other DI folks will be on the inside in the spots marked on the floor plan. Make sure you come in and introduce yourself... There's a good possibility a free drink or 2 may be thrown your way as we fulfill the hosting responsibilities that we take very seriously. It should be no surprise that we stamp you guys with the DI logo for more than one reason. Yes, it serves as the key to open the DI Lounge in the main room, but it's also a good way to identify people that share your love for the music (and/or getting into FUR on the cheap). I would definitely encourage you guys to make introductions and clump together because it's really what makes the DI @ GLOW experience work. Much love...
  6. FYI everyone there has been a slight modification to the door policy this week. I've corrected this in the first post, but I wanted to be sure to call it to everyone's attention. The guest list will close @ 11:30, so be sure to be there early.

  15. this is sure to be a great time for anyone that's tried GLOW--or been afraid to try GLOW because of all the negative things their friends had to say--and found it to be an unfun/uncomfortable place... I'll admit that more than once I've gone to GLOW and felt oddly out of place, but when you roll into the place with 50-60 people in tow (like we did last week for Bad Boy Bill) the entire dynamic shifts. Everyone that was there had a great time and more than one person told me that they were shocked at how much fun they had based on previous experiences and/or the impressions of others... Come on out... take a chance with DI...

  17. Sorry to be another faceless promoter pimping himself on here, but the site/msg board was recommended by a good friend of mine, so I thought I'd try it out... Thanks all for reading. That's right, kiddies, it's my first solo gig in DC, and I'm determined to bring a cubic butt-ton of energy to the tables in this premier venue in NW. This party is 21+ only and those interested are welcome to email/PM me to get on the exclusive guest list that guarantees admission to the upper floor of the venue prior to 11PM. Don't forget to dress "fashionably" and leave your shorts, sportswear and sneakers at home (sorry, I hate dresscodes as much as you do, but apparently "grown-up" clubs can't get enough of em...). Details follow... ramz With involvement spanning two decades, ramz is certainly no stranger to the dance music scene. Starting back in the days when the only way you could experience electronic music was to wait at the local top 40 club until the "late" DJ came on, ramz first experienced "the scene" as a victim of the high energy heavy bass beat on the dance floor opposite some of the godfathers--and biggest modern icons--of the electronic dance movement and was hooked for life. Whether hardcore European imports, Florida breaks, West Coast trance, Chicago house, or Detroit techno spun at clubs in every corner of the country and across the world, ramz has found a home on the dance floor fueled by the pervasive vibe and distinct flavor found across each and every genre. ramz chose to start to repay his debt to this beloved movement in 2003. Drawing from his experiences as a classically-trained musician and conductor, a long-time connoisseur of body-rockin' beats, a kid raised on a constant and eclectic soundtrack consisting of Mozart, Smokey Robinson, Bernstein, Ray Charles, A Tribe Called Quest, Copland, REM, Dr. Dre, The Beatles, and a thousand others, ramz offers an unique musical perspective and "old school" sensibility that shapes his style and track selection. Behind the turntables, ramz will take you on a musical journey through the best and booty-rockinest tracks produced and remixed throughout the history of electronic music. Paying little attention to year or genre, ramz guarantees only that you find some elements of familiarity in every set and that each and every person on the dance floor will feel the culmination of thousands of tracks thrown down by hundreds of DJs and a nearly irresistible urge to shake that ass. MCCXXIII 10PM-3AM (Guest list closes at 11PM, email jason@eramsey.org before 01/20/05) 1223 Conneticut Avenue NW Washington, DC 20036
