went last nite and had a great time. school is a small lounge w/ a great sound system, brian burnside was spot on w/ his music selection. I def. will be @ the next deepa party and would recommend it to anyone into deep soulful house .

Been away from the boards for a while but not the music. Still haven't made it out to shelter since they moved, so 6/10 is up in the air between the two.

Went last monday for the first time! Sh!t was the truth. I want to check it out on Wed's for the Root's party but not sure if Louie Vega still has his parties since he won that Grammy. Any good parties on Tuesdays?

I've seen some of the Vids and the dancers that are there are thorough. I saw the new video of Byron Cox and he has improved alot since the video SB posted a while back. -
Kaydup said it best. Why is it so hard for people to not read his posts if you know it is the same parties every week. If it weren't for SB I probably wouldn't know about half the parties he posts.

Sorry I missed this party too! I actually got there @ 2am w/ a friend and the bouncer said you had to be on the guest list to get in. Then he said you had to know the promoters, when I threw your name out there Gabe he started giving me more run around, he even went as far as saying DJ Boris was Djing and it was an exclusive event! The real reason for him not letting us in I thought was my friend was in a t-shirt, jeans and sneakers but from the looks of the pics he would have blended right in! I'll be out for the line up in December for sho!

No sarcasm just wanted to know what you considered new school house dance? I know there are lofters. Then there are people who stick to jacking, and some bboys like to dance to house.
Cool! My observation was directed to the younger generation's style of dancing relevant to new school rhythms, which could be a generalization because there were older heads there who were thorough and original to those same beats. I agree w/ Jerry52 on his observation also.

Joe attracts a very mixed crowd. What do you consider the new school house dance? Just out of curiosity. Did any circles form? Love is a little tight for that but maybe they did.
Sorry for such a late reply. I sense a little sarcasm in your post so I won't even bother responding sincerely to what I think new school style of house dancing is. By no means am I a dance connoisseur, I was just excited to see various styles of house dancing, an amazing dj and many other people that are passionate about house music.

First time @ LOVE and hearing Joe Clausell in person was amazing. Got there around 11pm and the dance floor was packed. At Midnight Raul Midon performed an acoustic set. He is a very talented musician and I'm looking forward to seeing him perform next month. Saw a lot of different styles of house dancing, jacking, lofters and new school. Left around 3 when Joe was playing some classics. The next time Joe is spinning I'll be sure to get there much earlier.

I've lurked on these boards for months before I posted and the first time SB posted a link to Joe Clausell, I watched that clip like 20 times. I can't wait to hear him in person.

Homeland security is the biggest piece of shit ever and we as Americans are eating it by the pound. We are no safer now than 9/11. People on the terrorist watch list still get in this country, now that's homeland security. More layers of bullshit by this Administration. Reagan is probably turning in his grave right now. Bring back GW Senior.

Many people are missing the point, the bottom line is Bush, FEMA the federal, state and municipal governments have waited too long too act on this disaster which proves we aren't prepared to deal with another national emergency( terrorist attack, etc.).
We can send troops overseas and generate millions of dollars to help the Tsunami victims but we deal with our problems very poorly.
