  1. Italian DJ Mauro Picotto will be @ Pacha 8/29. Tickets are $20 but if you go to pachanyc.com you can get on the list for free before midnight. If anyone is planning to go, message me...I'm looking to get a group together. www.myspace.com/mauropicotto
  2. Is anyone into alternative events like swingers clubs? Never been but looking to check it out and want advice on where to join. Msg me if you can help. thx.
  3. Thanks, Scoob-e! Are you a member of forloveofhouse? It's sorta like myspace for house heads.
  4. Thanks for all the feedback/suggestions, ya'll! I hear you house on the scene going back to it's roots...miss the old places I used to party at that are long gone. So, does the NYC group meet-up for any events? Where can I find info on more underground parties?
  5. Has anyone been to Mezmr (the new Crobar?) I used to party at Crobar back in the day. Live in L.A. now but moving back to NYC late summer and wondering where were the best nights out for house/trance are these days? Any feedback would be great! Thx.
  6. Oakenfold is doing a show on the Queen Mary 6/14. You can find all the details on Clubzone.com and they are selling $40 pre-sale tix (the $30 already sold out). Is anyone interested in going? Would love to get a group together.
  7. Man, I can't believe that I missed Tiesto! Why would he be playing in SD on Saturdays when he could be in LA?! Anyone going out tonight, or know of good parties? Drop me an email at heather.walsh@gmail.com.
  8. I'm solo tonight (the roomie is out of town) and I feel like going dancing. None of my LA friends are into dancing, unfortunately. I'm an east coast girl and all my college girlfriends are back east, been in LA about a year now. Looking for someone to join me out tonight and I'm open to whatever venue, as long as there's a dancefloor. Hit me up if anyone is interested. I'm a fun girl, I promise.
  9. I recently moved to L.A. but I'm going to be back in NYC with all my girls for New Years Eve. I wanted to gauge where everyone is going and where the best parties are going to be. Any and all suggestions appreciated! Thanx!
  10. Make sure it is a legit 501©3 charity. Can't beat bringing a smile to the soldiers overseas!
  11. Has anyone been to the new Vanguard...how's the refurb? I haven't been out in a while and all my club friends are back east. Looking to hook up with some peeps for a night out...any takers?
  12. If you're looking for great deals and discounts check out fatwallet.com. You can also price compare on shopzilla.com. Happy shopping!
  13. Wow, this is a blast from the past....mine was Pocket Full of Kryptonite by Spin Doctors. Thriller was definitely up there too...my friend can do a wicked kareoke rendition of PYT.
  14. Ahh, thanks weyes one. Sorry about the gender slip.
  15. I'm coming from NYC so they are all about lunch-on-the-go and the refrig. sandwiches don't sit around for too long so they are pretty decent. I agree with W on his first post - refrigerated sandwiches can't hold up to a freshly made sandwich. Ya never know how long it has been sitting around and you chance getting soggy bread. Are there any make-your-own salad places in la? Not salad buffet, but where you select the ingredients and someone mixes it for you? Maybe I'm just a spoiled New Yorker...
  16. I'm thinking about it. I love Sasha but I don't really have a discretionary fund right now...
  17. Thanks Seeker for all your great suggestions! I heard of Vangaurd so will def. check that out (it's often hard to tell what the scene would be like until you get there so I really appreciate the insider info.) I was actually thinking about going to Monday Social @ Nacional this week but read some really neg reviews, but will be sure to check it out for a chill evening (you can't go too crazy on a Monday night anyway.) I went to college in Boston and so I used to hang at the original Avalon on Landsdown St. way back when and I've been to the Avalon in New York, but actually preferred the scene when it was the Limelight - now they do get lots of topliners but it's not as much fun. I assumed that Avalon LA would be much of the same, and agree that most of the time the biggest clubs names are not the venues where you have the best time.
  18. Hi. I just moved to Los Angeles (from New York) and I would love some suggestions for the best harder-faster dance clubs in the LA area. I love trance/house music and venues where I can converge with the music and just dance. I am familiar with the UK dance scene (I can't believe that the Fridge was just raided. I used to hang at their after parties after Brixton Academy). Fav. DJ's incl. Oakenfold, Tiesto, Phil Reynolds, Sasha, Digweed, BK, Johnathan Peters, Sander K., etc. I see that Sandra Collins is spinning in San Diego at the end of the month, but that's a bit far for me to go. Anyone know of upcoming artists coming to LA? Would love to get a group together who enjoys my type of music for a night out...
  19. Hi there! Thanks for your reply, but I was actually looking for clubbing tips/suggestions in the Los Angeles area. I am very familiar with the NY scene but unfortunately I'm now 3,000 miles away chillin on the Westside. I see that Sandra Collins is spinning in San Diego at the end of the month. I'll just move my posting to the Los Angeles thread to avoid future confusion.
  20. Hi. I just moved to LA from New York and I would love some suggestions for the best harder-faster dance clubs. I love trance/house music and venues where I can converge with the music and just dance. I am familiar with the UK dance scene (I can't believe that the Fridge was just raided. Would love to get a group together who enjoys my type of music for a night out...
