  1. Hottest R&B / Neo-Soul showcase in New York! SOL VILLAGE is where Grammy winner John Legend got his start, where Floetry can jump on stage for a surprise song, and where you are sure to see tomorrow's legends today. Everyone from Jill Scott to Erykah Badu, Bilal, Musiq SoulChild and others have played at Sol Village. Quincy Jones himself says SOL VILLAGE host Eric Roberson is THE voice of soul today, and with the amazing house band The Collective holding it down, SOL VILLAGE is not to be missed.

  7. The music world has certainly been transformed in the two years since 26-year-old Dwele stepped to the plate with his debut album, Subject. Entertainment Weekly raved that the album, “spread sultry, jazz-inflected R&B over subtle but muscular hip-hop grooves.†We at Sounds of Brazil, Manhattan are stir-crazy for the much-anticipated December 11th Dwele performance we're hosting. Andwele (which, translated from Swahili, means "God has brought me"), is an offspring of the hip-hop generation, yet still remains a self-professed devotee of jazz and R&B, and easily transfixes disciples of these genres. Stop by, bring your girl, revel in the rise of this bright new star:

Also performing is Abby Dobson, another mesmerizing rhythm and blues crowd-pleaser.
