  1. -- Sunday, October 07, 2007 -- Holiday... OPEN TIL 2AM!!! STYLE OF EYE (classic / tiny sticks / nightshift) Sweeden & SERGIO SANTOS (bend boston, marz, bump) By now pretty much everyone knows that the last days at bump are numbered... however, we got a whole month to celebrate! And this weekend we have extended hours, a world class producer, no work on monday and the usual PL insanity on a Holiday. Please get there early to avoid lines... you know how it gets on the holidays! STYLE OF EYE In the early 1990s, working from a studio in the northern-most parts of Sweden, Linus Eklow laid the foundations for what is now known as Style Of Eye. ‘Right Now!’ was his first release- on Derrick Carter and Luke Solomon’s Classic Music Company- and it received a major response from both the dance press and tastemakers alike, being played by such well-known names as Felix Da Housecat, Tiefschwarz, DJ Sneak, Laurent Garnier and DJ Lottie, amongst many others. It didn’t take long before the house community at large picked up on what Linus was doing, and with subsequent Style Of Eye releases such as ‘Gioco’ and ‘You Got That’, Linus broke through onto dancefloors all over the world. This in turn paved the way for a number of remixes, all wearing the Style Of Eye trademark thumping grooves. Today, Linus is a well respected producer and DJ in the global dance music circuit, with every subsequent release garnering more praise for his unique sound. With more re-leases and remixes due to be released on various labels, he is certain to become the “important future star†that DJ Magazine predicted he would be. 2. -- Sunday, September 30, 2007 -- The return of... DJ HEATHER (om records, blackcherry, ilovedjheather.com) Chicago & RYAN OBERMILLER (red door, marz, bump) NH In the past few years the Chicago house community has produced a number of innovative and distinct djs trained in the art of transforming tranquil dance floors into spaces of sheer bedlam and bliss. Their committed vision of undiluted musical appreciation, interactive communication, improvisation and basic integrity has brought greater attention to all the city’s great djs including the genre busting DJ Heather. Widely regarded as one of the premier selectors in the nation, this Chicagoan demonstrates her skills and sharp deck acumen for the massives throughout the Windy City and the world at large with verve and undeniable talent. Named after her favorite soy yogurt, Blackcherry Recordings, made its debut with the buzz worthy single Picture of You†featuring Heather along with D.C.’s own EastcoastcoastBoogiemen. “ I came up with the name four years ago with intentions of starting a label. No project fit until this came along. I guess it was meant to beâ€. Remix duties were taken on by some of house music brightest rising stars. Lawnchair Generals, Jason Hodges, Natural Rhythm and Cle provided diverse takes on the original. She plans to release her own original material on the label in 2006. 2005 also marked Heather’s installment to the much heralded Fabric CD series, for the club of the same name. “With [Fabric] 21 I had a concept in mind; most of the material had to have been played at the club to give it an honest feel.†Judging by critics and house enthusiasts she has done just that. “At the end of the day to make a room full of people happy is difficult to do. You become part mind reader , guru, sensei, educator, entertainer and babysitter all at once. All the experiences I have had, made who I am today. As a person and dj. I love what I do.†With 15 years of experienced behind her Dj Heather has grown to become one of the Windy City’s main Dj exports. She is an artist who defies conformity, defines quality and continues to nurture her solid skills for soul music of the technological generation. 11. -- Sunday, August 5, 2007 -- A Journey to the Deep with KC HALLET (kcgrooves.com / redline) Boston K.C. who is originally from New Hampshire use to commute to Boston & New York to visit some of the most unique night clubs on the East Coast. Dancing was his hobby going to The Loft in Boston Shelter & Body and Soul in New York. These clubs were amazing with hundreds of people just losing themselves in the music and the vibe. He then had a small accident and sprained his ankle which took him off the dance floor for some time. Since he could not dance, his love for music brought him to Biscuithead records to buy some of his first house records in 1996. With a sprained ankle he started collecting and mixing records to keep him involved with the music he loved. It started with just deep house music but has branched out into many genres of music. As he stays true the the house music sound he also has a love Jazz, R&B soul, D&B, Techno, Reggae, Disco Classics, etc... you get the point (all good dance music). K.C. then moved to Boston in 1998 and started focusing on his dj career. From 1998 to the present he has worked in three record stores in boston (biscuithead, boston beat, and is currently at satellite records) and has spun in numerous clubs, bars, and lounges from Boston to New York. Has also spun with plenty big name djs in the business (see shared bookings). He is currently the resident dj for Soul Revival the longest running party in Boston which was started before he even bought his first record. He has also started working on production so be on the look out for stuff in the future. 12. -- Sunday, July 29, 2007 -- Spectral Sounds resident DJs DJ! RYAN ELLIOT (Spectral Sound / Ghostly International) Michigan opening set: SERGIO SANTOS (bend boston, marz, bump) Upstart Detroit DJ Ryan Elliott has gained notoriety over the past few years by programming sets that are as well crafted and sophisticated as they are danceable. From ice cold minimal techno to summery house beats, Elliott has played both big rooms and martini bars with equal success. As a DJ, Ryan is adept in the late night hours, finding the balance between heavy floor tracks and elegant crowdpleasers. Utilizing three decks, multiple audio sources, and outboard effects are par for the course, and Elliott employs them with the utmost skill to keep crowds engaged. With a fervent interest in the emerging international techno scene, he is a walking dictionary of artists, labels, and releases. Elliott held his Tuesday night events at Ann Arbor's Goodnight Gracie with Matthew Dear from 2002 to 2004, bringing back energy to the city's nightlife. Ryan Elliott was also asked to be a resident at Detroit's weekly Untitled alongside Dear, Tadd Mullinix, Mike Servito, and Derek Plaslaiko. In 2005 he began a new residency at Detroit's Oslo, and created a stellar 33-track mix for the 2xCD edition of the Spectral Sound Vol. 1 compilation. 15. -- Sunday, January 21, 2006 -- CRAIG MITCHELL (limestone, nightshift, drop) Boston opening set by: RYAN OBERMILLER (res door, marz, bump) NH cRAIGmITCHELL, a.k.a. oLIVERtWISTED, a founding member of the chart-topping production team The Orange Factory, fathered and cultivated the dance music scene in Burlington, Vermont, where he went to Saint Michaels College after moving from Saginaw Michigan...near the birthplace of techno, Detroit, Michigan. With over 16 years behind the decks, cRAIG has served as a resident at New York City's legendary Tunnel and has played the country's most celebrated venues and club nights. He has rocked crowds alongside such tastemakers as Chris Fortier, Peter Rauhofer, Honey Dijon and Tom Stephan (Superchumbo), amongst others. One experience with cRAIG behind the tables and belting out one of his tracks LIVE, while dancing continuously in the booth and you'll understand why his shows are so well attended and recieved. Unlike many of today's DJ's who are so focused on their mix, that they forget about the VIBE, cRAIG is not just a DJ, he is a performer. Since his debut DANCE production effort in 1997 (C12 "JUDY"), cRAIG has collaborated with a range of artists including Trendroid, Michelle Weeks and John Creamer & Stephane K, his work with whom earned him global acclaim as oLIVERtWISTED on "I Love You." His appearance on Kats & Styles' "You're My...Everything" on Twisted Records, home to the likes of Ralph Falcon and Danny Tenaglia, was one of the highlights of Satoshi Tomiie's Nu Breed compilation on the acclaimed Global Underground imprint. After his contribution to Yoko Ono's highly publicized 2001 single, Open Your Box, cRAIG was invited to assist with A & R, management and operation of Mind Train Records. 17. -- Sunday, January 14, 2006 -- MLK Day weekend... bump open til 2AM MATT BANDY of DEEP HOUSE SOLDIER (limestone, nightshift, drop) Denver opening set by: ROLLAND ESS (marz, bump) Great to be back after the much need holiday break. Props to both Soundsyster and the Bald & the Busted (copyright Ryan Obermiller 2007) for layin it down. Fun Stella/Jager-filled beats! This weekend, the long overdue re-schedule of Matt Bandy Playing music with concept and soul, Matthew Bandy's decade-long communion with house music has brought him to international acclaim. Remaining true to his musicality, Bandy has interwoven passion, emotional sensibility and rapport through his creative ambitions in promotions, producing, DJing and operating a record label. In the early 90's, Bandy was introduced to house music through the Midwest rave scene. Living in Kentucky, far from a major metropolitan area for house music, Bandy has been able to refrain from cultural biases, and pull the best from Chicago, Detroit and New York flavored grooves. By the time the late 90's came about, Bandy was throwing his own events under the production guise of AlienSquad and intel lifeforms. Having brought DJs such as Halo, Kevin Yost, Johnny Fiasco, Terrance Parker, Traxx and Charles Feelgood, Bandy simultaneously hosted Kentucky's first and only electronic music radio show "Through The Vibe" on 88.1 FM and toured every major city in America. In 2000 Bandy began to delve more into the art of producing to further his creative vision. In doing so he created the production duo and live act, Deep House Souldiers, with partner Joel Jackson, their first release came out in 2003 on San Francisco label, Lo Rise Recordings. In that same year, Bandy moved to Denver to take his newly formed record label, Limestone Recordings, and aspiring production to grow as an artist. The Deep House Souldier's went on too release, "This is Why We Dance," on Matthews own Limestone Recordings which was licensed to Ben Watt's "Buzzin' Fly" mix CD. Later that year Limestone Recordings was also mentioned in Urb's 2004 "Next 100." Now having released solo and collaborative work on various labels such as Vista, Seasons Recordings, Nordic Trax, Swank Records, LowDown Music and Blue Iguana amongst others, Bandy has taken the time to collaborate with producers such as Jake Childs, Rick Preston, Matt Shrewd, and Jon Nedza aka Community Recordings. Today his music is showing up on compilations in Japan, Croatia, England, Ibiza, Canada, the US, and various other countries around the world, showing that no matter where he resides, Bandy's originality and dedication is more important than his locale. 18. -- Sunday, January 7, 2006 -- bump finally returns with... SOUNDSYSTER (ultrasound, fusion afterhours) CANADA opening set by: the Bald & the Beautiful (Odori, Dirtybird, Utensil) Boston After two week vaca (much needed) for the Holiday, we are coming back atcha with some new guests and old friends to shake your hips and pollute your liver. First we got our favorite Canadian import ready to kick off the new year with some tweaky, freaky house and tech. Tabatha likes to push the boundaries of her style with quirky innovative future inspired hybrid sounds and rhythms, while maintaining the fundamental elements that have gained the attention of critical ears searching for more than just your average deep and techy beats. Joining Tab will be the illustrious B&B (Taner Ross and Matt Dimond, respectively). If you don't know, you should because they are making some of the best music in Boston! So we'll see you Sunday... SoundSyster Tabatha's musical philosophy spawns from an early exposure ('91) to the underworld of techno and electronic forms by her uncle who initially helped her discover the existence of vinyl, bootlegged mixTapes, and la music mecca 'Montreal'. In '93 barely a teenager, she basked in the moments of first hearing a dj...and naturally began exploiting and forcin' every techno-virgin soul to check it out. First piece of techno wax was a lovely shade of pink and ordered from moonshine in 1996, than a couple years later started Fri & Sat night residency at the G-Spot in Fredericton, notorious for it's history and rep...that was the beginning. Soundsyster is now a member of the Aqua Entertainment crew, founder of Ultrasound Productions, and affiliation of Dowhatchagotta (Toronto), and Evolvetribe and movethemasses. She's been makin the beats bump in metros such as Winnipeg, Toronto, Quebec City, Boston, New England, St.Johns, Halifax, and holdin' it down in her own province New Brunswick with the Ultrasound crew and their promotions with Afterdark Afterhours.
