CYPHA (KindKidz - NY) DJ Cypha is no stranger to electronic dance music...With a strong base in music theory Cypha began his musical career in elementary school where he played the saxophone and continued to do so throughout his academic career. At an early age he has also performed in various jazz ensembles and folk bands with live percussion. Since his knowledge of music theory helps him gain a better perspective and creative insight, he became very bored with the commercial music and wanted to spin something a bit more challenging to his ear. He began spinning the dirty, aggressive broken jungle rhythms and was inspired by the smooth rolling basslines of Drum n Bass. The hunger for driving hypnotic beats grew larger. No record or style seemed to nourish the furious hunger for that certain sound. The answer was found within the fundamental grooves of TECHNO and he is now a proud member of Kind Recordings where he can elaborate on his creativity with some the best in the area. Cypha's a DJ who harnesses the true energy of 4 TO THE FLOOR banging beats which enables creativity without limitations. He manipulates drum patterns and mixes elements so tight that the listeners have no choice but to hop on the groove. His mixing technique is precise and as he always pushes the envelope by using a 3rd turntable, FX, and a live drum pad to give more push to the shove....Mind you, not just a dj who throws stuff around in a mix, not one to distort during mix either. In '93 he was introduced to Drum & Bass and all of its affiliate genres; it's been love ever since. He's played in clubs like Limelight, Demaeara and Downtime to name a few.
