  1. yeah, agreed. They definitely tend to book the more unconventional names at Webster, which is cool. I do love me some PVD, but its refreshing to see guys like Menno de Jong, Scot, Yoji, Sean Tyas, etc... these guys almost never come around here.

oh, on the topic of M.I.K.E., he's actually going to be at Love in August for a trance classics night...

MIKE classics is going to be sick. I missed him at Love back in January, everyone said he was sick though. I just need to hear "Universal Nation" and I can die a happy man. :D

  2. yo, i think we met at our last party...

    yup, think so.

this Friday was sick. We got to Love on the late tip. Seaman was playing very cool techy electro tracks which had people moving. Zack and Kerrine came on later than expected, but closed it out proper with some very banging tracks....always cool to hear Ballroom - "Remember Me" on that system lol.

    so, when's the next party!

  3. meh, as a producer he stinks, as a dj he was decent in the early to mid 90's, but then sold out and just does the boring prog crap now.

this was far and away his best mix cd ever - circa 1992 http://www.discogs.com/release/22546

GU has to be one of the worst labels on the planet, constantly grinding out boring ultra-commmercial music, but they do get some good talent to make mixes for them.

I was only referring to GU because Seaman did the mix cds for them. His own label, Audio Therapy is freaking nasty. There definitely are some progressivey releases, but for the most part they put out really cool tech house stuff, and the good kind of electro.

Even if you're not into Dave, the lineup around him is great too. Zack is one of my good friends, and a hell of dj. I think he is on opening duty before Dave tomorrow night. Check him out

  4. whoa!

I have been a huge Dave Seaman fan since his last Global Underground compilation, I believe it was the Melbourne mix.

definitely looking forward to this one.

On Friday May 18th, Core NYC brings one of the true originators of house music, Dave Seaman (Therapy Music, Thrive Records), back to NYC. As the man behind Therapy Music and Stress Records, Dave has been instrumental in the development of house music over the past few decades. As illustrated on his recent remixes for John Digweed, Gabriel & Dresden, Nick Warren and Jimmy Van M and on the eclectic new sampler recently released on his Audio Therapy label, Dave continues to promote the ever-evolving sound of house music.

Ever since he released the first ever legally licensed mix CD in 1991 for Mixmag, Dave has put out some amazing compilations. His most recent release (The Therapy Sessions Vol. 3, Thrive Records), comes on the heels of his critically acclaimed release on Renaissance, "The Master Series: Part 7". With over 25 years of DJ'ing experience, there is no doubt that Dave will throw down a set to remember.

Opening things up for Dave in the main room is CoreNYC's Frank Chiarello, while Zack Roth, Keryn, and Dany Veltri close things out.

As always, Love's front room will play host to some of your favorite local djs. Mike DiRocco and Ryan Tyas take to the decks, as well as some yet unamed locals. Stay tuned for full lineup!
