Jeremy). STANK started in March 2005 and celebrated house music in all its glory weekly, taking over New York City’s house scene for nine months. Minds met. Energies flew. Beats soared. Soon after, the trio began co-hosting a monthly party at STANK, “Afro Acid: The Chicago Sessions,†based on Pierre’s brainchild, “Afro Acid.†House legends Harrison Crump, Cajmere (a.k.a. Green Velvet), Ron Carroll, Glenn Underground and Mark Grant all stopped by to drop some beats. Afro Acid is the combination of Acid, Electro, Deep House, Underground House, elements of Rock, etc. Basically, anything goes. It’s about the music and the vibe created. It’s about eliminating boundaries and gimmicks and bringing back the true elements of what makes people feel good. The smiley “Afro Acid†man has become the face of Afro Acid and it has been featured in magazines worldwide representing this movement. Starting in February, DJP Muzik and House of Stank, will join forces again to host AFRO ACID: New York, a monthly house party at LOVE, one of New York City’s hottest venues for underground house music. The party will bring the very best of house music and its legendary djs to New York.
