Stay tuned as we bring our website, radio, and forum to life in the days to come. To launch this project we have M.I.K.E, with DJ Eco doing the opening deck duties. MAIN FLOOR M.I.K.E http//: www.mike.be:: Armada Recordings :: Club Elite Recordings :: Belgium M.I.K.E. is Mike Dierickx. Formerly known as Dirk Dierickx, resides in Antwerp, Belgium. In 2000, he decided to change his real name from Dirk to Mike to cater to his career. "When I started to DJ at the age of 16, I used the name DJ Mike as my artist name. Later on it changed into my producers name M.I.K.E., and that's why I decided to make it my real name" Mike quotes. Producing and DJ-ing under the name M.I.K.E., he has also been releasing under many other aliases such as, “Solar Factor”, “The Blackmaster”, “Return Of The Native”, “Plastic Boy”, and last but not least “Push”. The story begins of an 11 year old boy discovering the potential of samplers and keyboards. A boy who preferred knobs and backlight displays instead of child games. At the age of 18, Mike handed his first demo tape to the Antwerp based record company called 'USA Import' then shortly there after, his first record “Vision Act” was released on Atom Label in 1992. M.I.K.E's reputation shot through the roof in 1998 with “Universal Nation” although a commercial crossover had never been anticipated this track took the world by storm winning several dance awards, and undoubtedly being recognized as one of the classic dance-records of the trance era till this day. Worldwide dance charts were soon putting the Belgian dance scene firmly on the map, with his Push follow-up single “Strange World” destroyed hundreds of clubs across Europe, in the same vein as “Universal Nation”. This was followed by yet another blockbuster, “The Legacy”, once again topping all dance charts across Europe and entering the British National charts at #21. Over the years Mike received several music awards including best club singles and best dance-producer, and entered 6 times the national top 40 in the UK, along with consistently being top 100 in the world, by the renowned British DJ Magazine. Mike also did collaborations and remixes for some of the industries top producers and DJ’s like Armin Van Buuren, John 00 Fleming, Moby, Mauro Piccoto, Ian Van Dahl and many others along the way. This kind of success did not go unnoticed as M.I.K.E. was asked to DJ at some of the best venues in the world; some of these include the infamous “Gatecrasher” and “Godskitchen” in the U.K, as well the famous “Dance Valley” and “Trance Energy” festivals in Holland, along with playing in the United States at “Spundae” in Los Angeles and in New York City at the former “Spirit Nightclub”. From Australia to New Zealand and the residency Armada nights at Amnesia club in Ibiza are a few to list in one of the godfathers of trance. DJ Eco http//: www.myspace.com/djeco :: Lunatique Recordings :: New York City :: Hailed by Martin Roth as "New York's uncut diamond" and a new addition to "the elite league of the upcoming young rebelling producers," the young 20 year-old American trance DJ, DJ Eco, is no stranger to the electronic dance music scene. Having been influenced by such legendary artists as DuMonde, Scot Project, DJ Mind-X, and Trance Allstars, among many others, Eco has been producing music since age 14. He started DJing at such a young age and at age 16 spun at his first megaclub, Club Deep in New York, for a younger audience of under-18s. It is from this that he grew more and more each year, adding multiple club and rave dates on his calendar each month. It was also this year that he started his weekly radio show "Strobe Life Sessions", which eventually was broadcast on multiple online stations, featuring guest DJs ranging from Mauro Picotto, Yahel, and dozens more, even today. As years passed, Eco began to play more of New York City's top superclubs, closing and opening for big headliners. Some of these venues included Spirit, Avalon, Club Shelter, among others. With his new production "light at the end" named Tune Of The Week on Armin Van Buuren's "A State Of Trance" show, and "paradise now" getting recognition as Trance.nu's Official Love Parade 2006 anthem for its would-be float, his name is bound to make waves all over the electronic music globe. A DJ Eco live set is like no one else, you cannot predict what styles or songs he will play, as his taste and influences of music are so wide. Production-wise, he tries to cross the boundary and provide something refreshing and new everytime, never using the current hit-making formulas that most other producers base their styles on. Supported by such names as Armin Van Buuren, Judge Jules, Agnelli & Nelson, Thomas Bronzwaer, and John O'Callaghan, among many others, as well as Lost World and Martin Roth on remix duties of his latest production, the future looks bright for the young DJ Eco. After so many years of hard work behind the turntables and computer screen, DJ Eco and his emerging epic sound will show you to the light at the end. www.tnewyorkcity.com
