thehacker
anyways...and to think this all started cuz when i was listening to echostar's debut at pseudo open decks back in january, i thought to myself (amazing i was able to think at all amidst the distorted bassdrum assault) "wait a minute, the tempo is about the same as most drum and bass - i wonder what it would sound like mixed?" and i said this to justin later on when he was done but he'd forgotten until a few days ago, and IM'ed me with a vague memory of the conversation as if he'd imagined it and so today we tried it out and lo and behold, much to our surprise, a lot of hardhouse and hardcore records actually DO beatmatch with a lot of drum and bass - with a few exceptions (but aren't there always?) -- anyways it definately led to a sick sound wherein the distorted bassdrum attack and totally ridiculously strange synth lines frame themselves around the breaks and deep clean sub-bass of drum n' bass... w00.
