Instead of being the soundtrack to a murderous chase through an underground car park, 'Two Months Off' is positive, driving and a summer builder that somehow manages to be subtle and huge at the same time. Should be as big as 'Born Slippy.'Best mix: There's only one so far It goes:'Walking in light, flowing, walking in light' It's out: September 2nd 2002 #2 Intenso, 'Luv Da Sunshine' (Inferno) Summer's here and the living is indeed easy - if you've got the cheek to sample the living poop out of 10cc's holiday disco dad-dance favourite 'Dreadlock Holiday'. Turn it up, lop the top off a coconut and you could easily be in Barber-doss. Best Mix: Intenso Mix. It goes: 'We love the sunshine' (over steel drums).Out: July 29th #3 Ernest Saint Laurent, 'In The Sky'(BMG) The 'Clumsy Lobster' fellow lobs another googly through the Channel Tunnel. A summery disco chanson so simple and so good it could even start making words like 'uplifting' come back into fashion. Wouldn't that be nice? Best Mix: original It goes: 'In the sky, in the stars, in your eyes...' Out: August#4 That Kid Chris, 'Come Together'(Junior)Raving mad dog of a house record that leaps at you slobbering rabid spit all over the place but by the time you've got past the insane snare rolls and re-re-repetitive chants will be rolling over asking for its tummy to be tickled. Best mix: main mix It goes: 'Come together come together come together' Out: mid-August #5 Mousse T, 'Fire'(Peppermint Jam)Germany's answer to Erick Morillo attempts to live down past 'Horny Sex Bomb' crimes (in much the same way Mr Morillo likes to forget he was ever in, chortle, Reel 2 Real) with a smashing electro-garage-disco-clash tune halfway between Felix Da Housecat and MJ Cole. Best Mix: John Ciafone mix It goes: 'I'm on fiiiire' Out: July 22nd #6Jameson feat MC Viper 'Urban Hero' (2002 version)(Island)Slight return for what was surely the underground garage tune of 2001, replete with vocal re-rub. And like the whiskey, Jameson is matured, classy and could make you come over all unnecessary. Best Mix: MC Viper version It goes: We dunno à Viper tears it up in his normal thousand-words-a-minute fashion. Out: 26th August. #7 The Clergy, 'The Oboe Song'(Incentive) The nay-sayers are claiming clubland is on its arse - is that due to the lack of cheerful novelty records around at present? Something long-time Jules collaborator Paul Masterson appears to correct with this perky trance anthem and its massive, er, oboe. Best mix: Club mix It goes: a bit like the young musician of the year competition being held at Creamfields. Out: July 1st. #8 DD Klein, 'Alive' (Serious) The kind of perky disco-house that sounds just as good stuck in a traffic jam on the A13 as it does wriggling the sand between your toes on Sa Trincha. Think Stardust, 'Rendez-Vu', 'Starlight'. Think very hard about booking that holiday. Best Mix: Club mix It goes: 'Oh baby you make me feel alive' Out: July 15th. #9 Cam'ron, 'Oh Boy'(US Epic) Girly chorus, laddish boasting and a beat so heavy it could sink Manhattan: no wonder this is the New York hip hop tune of the moment, booming out of every jeep from Broadway to Brooklyn to Pwelli (give it time). Best mix: Street version It goes: 'I'm the boy, boy, boy, boy, killa' Out: now, on import. #10 Tali, 'Lyric On My Lip'(Full Cycle)Big up the West Coast flavour - West Coast of England that is. Bristol-based diva 'n' bass that starts off all ladylike and seductive and ends up tearing the arse out of your bassbins. A bit like a night out with Mrs Big Tunes.
