kandyraver
save internet radioValued Listener: There is a NEW bill in Congress! We need your help today because it is coming up for a vote within one week. Thank you for taking a moment to preserve your access to the kind of Internet radio that you are listening to right now. Recently the Copyright Arbitration Royalty Panel (CARP) that was appointed by the U.S. Government Copyright Office, at the prompting of the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), recommended new and burdensome royalty payments on Internet radio broadcasters. This royalty rate decision will bankrupt the station you are listening to and most small stations like us. You can read more about this ruling, issued by the Copyright Arbitration Royalty Panel (CARP) at www.saveinternetradio.org . The only remaining hope for small webcasters is immediate relief from Congress. Representative Sensenbrenner has just introduced the Relief for Small-Business Webcasters Act. This bill, designated HR 5469, will delay our royalty payments for six months while our pending court case is resolved. While this bill will not solve all the problems with the CARP, it gives us six months to work on a lasting solution. Without it, many webcasters will go out of business on October 20th when FOUR YEARS of back royalties come due in one lump sum. Please help us stay in business, so that we can continue to serve you - click the link below to fax your Representative in the House!
