Guest saleen351 Posted October 10 Report Share Posted October 10 Thursday, October 10 A-Rod makes donation, plans on attending classes--------------------------------------------------------------------------------Associated Press CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. -- Miami Hurricanes fan Alex Rodriguez is sharing some of his wealth with his favorite university.The All-Star shortstop for the Texas Rangers donated $3.9 million to the private university, which said the gift will be used to fund an annual scholarship, in perpetuity, at Miami for a member of the Boys and Girls Club of America.Rodriguez is an alumnus and a major backer of the Boys Clubs organization.The donation will also help kick off a fund-raising campaign toward renovating the university's baseball stadium.Rodriguez also announced his intention to enroll at the university to work toward a degree. mrmatas2277 Posted October 10 Report Share Posted October 10 this should be interesting...i played baseball against him when he was in high school and westminister....i was in junior high and they called us up to varsity to play on the bench...we got rocked 25-2, not even a mercy killing....
