nifer Posted October 15 Report Share Posted October 15 WKDU will hold it's 5th annual Electronic Music Marathon 17 - 20 October, benefitting Philabundance. Philabundance gathers food donations and redistributes it to other organizations throughout the Philadelphia area and in parts of New Jersey. In turn, those groups are then able to feed those who are strongly in need of nutritional support. Each DJ, MC, or other artist who commits to performing at WKDU’s Electronic Music Marathon makes a pledge to donate a minimum of $20.00 (US) to Philabundance. In return, they are given a one hour slot to perform. The EMM begins at 6:00 p.m. (EST) on Thursday, October 17th, 2002, and continues until Sunday, October 20th, 2002 at 12:00 a.m. Over that weekend, WKDU will be broadcasting live, continuous performances of electronic music that will either be mixed by over 70 local electronic DJ’s or performed live by various local artists and performance groups. Styles of electronic music that will be represented include ambient, house, jungle, techno, and trance.
